As Colt walked through the hospital he proudly spoke of Dixie " Dix is the packs housekeeper, she is so amazing. The best cook on the planet. When she came to Thunder Heart from a pack in South Carolina I was so excited, we jumped at the chance to have her. It's always nice to have a new face you know? Anyway, when she came to our pack house to cook...oh Stacy her cooking. I swear I'm lucky I'm not 500 pounds." He laughed.
Colt looked down at Stacy and she had this huge grin and his heart skipped a beat, she was magnificent!
Colt continued talking " So anyway, Dix came to me when I was starting my college classes to see how much culinary classes would cost. The pack paid for her education, cause seriously whole pack could always use a good cook" Colt laughed, his mood was light and happy, and the Omega's around were happy for him. Smiling he continued " So Dix wanted to learn different cultures, so I arranged for the best chef's to fly in to teach her. She is a master in Italian, French, Japanese, and South American cuisine. When I moved into the barracks she always sent food to me and her kids. She's been a better mother to me that my own mother. "
Before he knew it he was buckling in Stacy and he was just absentmindedly rambling. He was a bit embarrassed and kissed her cheek before shutting her door. When he got in the car he asked her "Would you mind if we drove around while Dix makes dinner? I wanna show you our pack and as a bonus I will treat you to the best chocolate shake and fries on this dot on the planet." He kissed he knuckles on her hand " So tell me about where you're from. Stacy giggled " You seen it your self it's rocky and dusty, but beautiful at the same time." Colt laughed with her "No, I wanna know about your town. What are the people like? What's it like living with humans?"
"Well I suppose the people are about the same. They work and have hobbies, Nothing real exciting happens. High School was hell, I couldn't stand the other kids. It's just stupid to get all dolled up to have some idiot who can't spell his name try to stick his pecker in you. STD's don't pay your bills."
They both laughed, talking came natural to them. It was the first time outside of Meg and Ryan she felt this relaxed talking to someone. Colt pulled into The Root Beer Palace, Stacy tightened her grip and gasped "It's like a time capsule!". He kissed the back of her hand as he was amazed at her excitement.
The shop was almost and an exact replica of a 50's car diner. Angled roof, neon and chrome everywhere, with servers in poodle skirts and roller skates. Buddy Holly "Oh, Boy!" blaring on the speakers. Colt pulled into a stall and put the car in park, he smiled at her and he couldn't help it, he pulled her chin closer to his and kissing her gently. The emotions of love and amazement radiating from Stacy made him so happy.
The squeals of a few teenage girls, snapped them out of their euphoria and Colt smiled into her lips and whispered "busted". In the mind link he said "busted and proud, I want every single person in this world to know that you are mine and I am yours" Stacy sighed deeply "Thank you for this" Colt smiled and turned to the menu and pressed the call button "Two Large chocolate shakes and a large fry please." Colt kissed the back of Stacy's hand and started pointing out all his the things he like from the menu, but has absolute favorites were Chicago and Cincinnati Style Coney's .
The server brought their order, Colt asked how much "Oh no Alpha Colt, this is on the house in honor of our new Luna." The server bowed deeply. Colt frowned, Stacy was prepared to stop him from saying something rude but he surprised her "How do you do that?". The girl looked up at him in confusion "Sir?".
"You know, bow in roller skates while holding a tray of food? If that was me, I'd fall face first into the car while spreading the joy of a chocolate shake rainfall." All three of them laughed as the server stood up. "Well sir, I like to practice, I can also curtsy and skate backwards" Colt smiled wide and said brilliant. The poor girl was so confused and nervous, this is the most he's ever spoken to anyone she knew and he gave her a compliment. Colt held up his finger at her to wait and he reached into to glove box and pulled out a navy blue envelope with a silver Celtic knot border. He handed her the envelope and said "Your future Luna honors you and wishes you happiness". The server accepted the envelope and said "It's my honor sir."
Colt put the car in reverse and said to Stacy "Let's go we have a lot to do before dinner". As they drove through town he pointed at the different businesses and their services, Stacy looked out at the town in amazement. It looked just like Main Street in any classic 50's show. Stacy sighed "I've always liked Montana better" that surprised Colt "You've been to Montana?" . She nodded and said "Several times when I was in grade school, it wasn't this town but I think it's close by cause I can see that mountain". Colt wasn't sure what to say, he wasn't expecting that. His girl was just full of surprises. "You were in Thunder Heart territory and I didn't even know it!" Stacy frowned out of embarrassment.
"Colt, I have to tell you something" she spoke quickly she didn't want to freak him out " I don't know anything about wolves. I don't know about territories, in fact all I do know is that Alpha's are the head honcho" Colt saw the panic and did what he did best, cracked a terrible dirty joke. "You can honcho my head anytime" he was glad to see that after a moment of uncertainty she cracked up laughing. This pleased him to hear her magical laugh.
He pulled the Hummer into a parking lot of a store that could easily pass as a luxury cabin. "Would you like to come in with me and pick up my order?" Stacy nodded yes eagerly, she was curious about wolves and it they acted different than humans. Colt smiled and said "Awesome, grab those stack of blue envelopes in case we will need those" Colt thought to himself that now was a good time to explain about the blue envelopes. "Years and years ago my great-great-great grandad traveled the world and observing customs and traditions of other cultures. In China the pass a red envelope to someone important during holidays or special events. The envelopes have money or gifts in them. I thought you might want to hand some out if you bump into someone you think is important.
Stacy grinned and nodded eagerly ,she loved the idea of gifting to the pack.
"Thank you Colt, this means the world to me" Stacy was glad to show gratitude to those that have shown her kindness. Colt smiled and kissed her cheek. "No worries babe, that smile is worth it". She beamed at Colt as he got out of the vehicle and came to her side. He opened the door and gingerly picked her up and placed her in a waiting wheelchair. Stacy cocked her eyebrow at him and he said through the mind link "I used my link and asked them to bring you a wheelchair because I didn't want you uncomfortable with me carrying you around." She couldn't help but smile at him, how did she get so lucky to have such a considerate mate.
The duo entered the store and Stacy noticed the staff looked at them with adoration, not jealousy or fear, but pure and honest adoration. A tall beautiful brunette and approached them with a smile. She bowed with respect and said "Alpha Colt what an honor of having you today. I am General Manager Amanda. What can we do to help?" Colt gave Amanda a genuine smile, eager to drop the bomb. Some rumors were already circulating from the hospital of the gorgeous Luna Stacy. He nodded his head and spoke "Amanda, thanking you for receiving me on short notice. Can you have security not let any one in? Those few can leave any time, I will pay for their purchases for their inconvenience, don't announce that last part. Just wait until they check out. Could you please instruct your staff and current guests to refrain from taking any pictures. We wouldn't want our Luna to be overwhelmed on her first night in our pack." He paused and approved of the happiness of his pack.
"Ladies, if you wouldn't mind assisting Luna Stacy pick out some toiletries and, oh get her an outfit that will be comfortable so for the car ride home. Thank you ladies, I have business to attend to in receiving. Oh, and get her whatever you think she may need. I have a feeling that she will only get the basics if we let her" Colt looked down and winked at Stacy. She looked at him with so much love. He couldn't resist but to bend down and kiss her.
Amanda walked behind the wheelchair and nodded at Alpha Colt "We will treat our Luna with the utmost care and respect Alpha Colt." Colt nodded in approval and went to receiving. In the hospital, he had her measured and ordered a full wardrobe in her size. It is currently being installed and will be fully stocked with a new wardrobe of the best brands currently in town. All he had to do was sign some paperwork so the pack house can be billed.
Colt watched in wonder at his Luna in action. She had a dazzling smile and laughed and blushed with the ladies. His mate was magnificent. The way she carried herself and how she let the ladies help her stand, and let them touch her hand, and she even let them touch her cheek. In his lifetime he had never seen a Luna interact with her pack like that, she was magnificent. When Stacy made her way back to Colt. As they were saying bye Stacy mind-linked Colt "Will you help me stand?". Colt obliged and steadied her by her elbow, to his surprise Stacy addressed the staff. " On the way here our Alpha told me of the significance of the blue envelopes and they are given to people who are important. Each one of you are important to me and your kindness and graciousness made me feel welcomed and...this is where I belong" Stacy had Colt help her to each staff member and she curtsied to every staff member and said "Your future Luna honor you and wishes you happiness" before handing them a blue envelope. He could feel their emotions of love and happiness blended with tears of joy. When the last person was gifted she curtsied one last time and said "Anyone wanna hug it out?"
Stacy radiatiantly shined with love and adoration all around her.
