Chapter 3 - Explanation and first mission as sword of logos

-----------------------------------------------------------

While we were eating, Craftbot finally returned.

"You guys started eating without me?" he asked, sounding slightly offended.

"You're a robot. You don't even need food," I replied casually.

"This food is so delicious!" Lala said happily.

"Of course it is. I'm the one who cooked it," I said proudly.

"My cooking's better," Craftbot muttered.

"I already made a plate for you too, just in case," I said, pointing at the counter.

After we were full, I decided to ask Lala something.

"Those people earlier said you're a princess. Is that true?"

"Yes. I'm Lala Satalin Deviluke, princess of the planet Deviluke," she said with a bright smile.

"WHAT?! YOU'RE THE PRINCESS OF DEVILUKE?!" Craftbot shouted in disbelief.

Lala nodded cheerfully.

"So, you ran away… because you didn't want to get married?" I asked again.

"That's right! My father the king of Deviluke and ruler of the galaxy was trying to arrange my marriage, but I didn't want that. So I ran away! But it's fine now, because I already have a fiancé here! Umm… what was your name again?"

I facepalmed. I hadn't even introduced myself properly.

"My name is Akashi Ace. I'm eighteen years old. I live on the outskirts of Kuoh, and I'm not married. I'm a student at Sobu High, and I get home by eight p.m. at the latest-"

Before I could finish, Craftbot covered my mouth, this is the second time my introduction got interrupted.

"Can you not introduce yourself like that?" he sighed.

"I was just being formal," I protested.

"Whatever. Anyway, his name's Akashi Ace. He sometimes talks to thin air, so don't mind it," Craftbot said to Lala.

"Hey! Ahem… So, are we really engaged now? Because I don't remember proposing to you," I said, confused, even though I already knew what she meant.

"You did! In the bathroom, when you touched my chest, that was your proposal," she said innocently.

"Wait, that counts?"

"Yup!" she replied with a smile.

"So, we're engaged now?"

"Yes!"

"Sorry to interrupt your romance, BUT ACE, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHO YOU JUST PROPOSED TO?!" Craftbot yelled.

"Of course. She's Lala Satalin Deviluke, and now she's my fiancée," I said proudly.

"CAN YOU BE SERIOUS FOR ONCE?! THAT'S THE GALACTIC KING'S DAUGHTER! ONE WRONG MOVE AND YOU- NO, THE ENTIRE PLANET COULD BE DESTROYED!"

"Relax. We'll let our future selves deal with that."

"YOUR FUTURE SELF IS CURRENTLY CURSING YOU OUT!"

"Exactly. I'm making his life harder on purpose."

Before Craftbot could continue his meltdown, something white and winged flew into the house.

"Lala-sama! Why did you leave me behind?!" the creature cried.

"Ah, Peke! Sorry, I didn't mean to, I teleported in a panic," Lala said apologetically.

"And who might this be?" I asked.

"This is Peke, my invention and my friend. He can transform into any outfit I want," Lala explained.

"That's right! But, Lala-sama, where did you get that outfit you're wearing?" Peke asked curiously.

"Oh, Ace made it! By the way, how did you even make it appear from thin air? That pistol and that cart earlier too?" Lala asked.

"That's my power, the ability to create anything. I gave that power to Ace," Craftbot said smugly.

"Not 'anything.' Your power still has those annoying limitations," I corrected.

"That's because your brain capacity is too small! Hahaha!" Craftbot laughed.

"Wait, you're a Power Sphere?" Peke asked, surprised.

"Indeed! I am Craftbot, the strongest Power Sphere in the universe!" he declared proudly.

"I can't believe it… I've only ever seen inactive Power Spheres before," Peke said in awe.

Then Lala suddenly remembered something.

"Oh right! I saw a bunch of round objects in a room at home. Were those Power Spheres too?"

I folded my arms on the table and looked serious. "How many are we talking about?"

"About ten, I think," Lala replied casually.

I turned to Craftbot.

"If the King ever comes to Earth, let's build a spaceship and run away."

"Now you're scared?"

"If you aren't scared of a man titled 'King of the Galaxy' who wields ten different powers, you're insane!" I shouted.

"Don't worry! My father won't hurt you, why? Because I'm here!" Lala said confidently, placing her hands on her hips and puffing out her chest.

'Why does she sound like a number one hero right now…' I thought, sighing internally.

I decided to looked at the clock and said, "Alright, it's getting pretty late. Lala, are you ready to sleep?"

"Yeah, I'm a bit tired and sleepy," Lala replied.

"Alright then, I'll go prepare the guest room."

"There's no need," Lala said with a smile as she pulled out something that looked like a door-shaped sticker.

"What's that? Don't tell me if you stick it on the wall, it turns into a portable room," I said.

"Wow, you guessed it right!" Lala said in amazement.

"You've gotta be kidding me," I muttered.

"Ace, you should make a bunch of those and sell them for a high price. Hehehe, they'd sell like crazy and we'd be rich!" Craftbot said excitedly.

"Humans aren't ready for technology like this," I replied.

"Then let's sell it to the supernatural side."

"No."

"Oh, come on, why not?" Craftbot asked.

"Dealing with them is just too much trouble," I said flatly.

Lala stuck the door next to my room. Well, whatever. After that, we all got ready for bed.

The next morning, I felt something hugging me. I lifted the blanket and saw Lala sleeping beside me. I sighed.

' I'm really living through an ecchi anime cliché.' I thought.

"Lala, wake up, it's morning."

"Mhm… Morning, Ace."

"Morning, Lala."

The door opened, and Craftbot came in.

"You two, get up, wash your faces, and have breakfast," Craftbot said.

"Okay," we both replied at the same time.

When we arrived at the dining table, Craftbot and Peke were already waiting.

"Craftbot, you're a robot, but you still eat? You ate yesterday too," Peke asked.

"I only eat because it tastes good," Craftbot answered.

"Where do you recharge? I haven't seen any charging equipment. Even the Power Sphere Palace has a special room for recharging," Peke said.

"There's one here too, just hidden," Craftbot replied casually.

"What's for breakfast today, Craftbot?" I asked as I sat down.

"Beef soup, made by Chef Craftbot," he said proudly.

"Yummy," Lala said with a bright smile.

After breakfast, my phone rang.

You got a call, you got a call.

"Hello? Kamiyama-san, what's up?"

"Hello, Ace-kun. You've got a mission," Kamiyama-san replied.

"What kind of mission?"

"There's a special-grade cursed spirit. I want you to take care of it," Kamiyama-san said.

"Isn't that supposed to be the job of jujutsu sorcerers?" I asked.

"Yes, but only a few of them can handle something of this level. Besides, it's part of our duty to fill in and cover the gaps left by other human organizations that aren't very competent," Kamiyama-san explained. If any jujutsu sorcerers heard that, they'd definitely be offended.

Author Note:that's what i think, i don't think there are many competent jujutsu sorcerers, except for yuji and friends.

"But are you sure about this? I'm still new, and you're already giving me a special-grade assignment," I said, not because I lacked confidence, but wasn't this a bit too soon? And seriously, where's Gojo Satoru when you need him?

"Yeah, I trust you. So don't let me down. That's all for now," Kamiyama-san said before hanging up the call.

"Who was that on the phone?" Craftbot asked.

"It was Kamiyama-san. He wants me to eliminate a special-grade curse," I replied.

"Isn't that a bit too early for you?"

"Yeah, but I have to cover the gaps left by the Jujutsu Sorcerers. I already told you what their leader's like," I said.

"I have a question! Who's Kamiyama-san? And what are Jujutsu Sorcerers and curses?" Lala asked curiously.

"Oh right, I haven't explained it to you yet. So, first, Kamiyama-san is my senior from the Sword of Logos. The Sword of Logos is an ancient secret organization that's been protecting humanity from the shadows for ages.

Second, Jujutsu Sorcerers are people who exorcise curses. They have their own organization that manages them.

And third, curses are entities born from the buildup of negative emotions in humans," I explained.

"I see!" Lala said cheerfully. I wasn't convinced she actually understood.

"Well then, I'm heading out for my mission. It's still early and school's off, but I already have to work," I said with a sigh.

"I want to come!" Lala said eagerly.

"It's dangerous. Even though Devilukes are stronger than humans, I don't know how effective curses are against aliens."

"I'll just watch from a distance!" she insisted.

"Fine," I said and created a small camera drone along with a tablet to view the feed.

"You can watch through this. Just remembe, don't get too close," I reminded her.

"Yay!" Lala cheered excitedly.

I hadn't showered yet, but whatever, it's going to get messy anyway. I headed to the garage, with Lala following behind.

I pulled out one of my motorcycles, SB-555V Auto Vajin.

Since Lala was coming along, I modified it so it could carry two people. By the way, Peke was currently in bracelet form.

"We're heading out," I said as I started the engine.

"Be careful," Craftbot replied.

And with that, we sped off toward the mission site.
