Chapter 129 - Lord

Zeke resolved all political matters clearly and properly within just a few days.

Three high lord from the High Lords Council were apprehended by Zeke, who dispatched the knight house's Imperial Guard to arrest them.

Although directly sending troops to roughly arrest these individuals did not align with Grisha's original intention of sending his son to experience the suffering of a High Lord, what did it matter?

This was an order given by Zeke.

The family head is still in the Segmentum Obscurus.

Here on Terra, everything naturally followed Zeke's orders. If Zeke said to mobilize House Yaeger's army for suppression, then of course, the family army would be mobilized for suppression.

Moreover, even if the family's army wasn't mobilized for suppression, wouldn't it be the same if Zeke directly mobilized his own army for suppression?

The outcome would not change, so it didn't really matter.

In short, the opposition within the High Lords Council was completely dealt with under this wave of attacks.

However, Zeke's actions caused distress to someone who had once personally visited House Yaeger and promised Zeke four planets.

Karl Reiss, who was familiar with Grisha.

Zeke's nominal uncle, had previously been sent by Zeke to Terra to deal with the high lord, to persuade them to agree to let him launch an expedition.

He had painstakingly spent a large sum of money to bribe the Grand Marshal of the Adeptus Arbites , and spent a long time demonstrating piety to persuade the Ecclesiarchy Pope, promising to give one planet as a Shrine world to the Ecclesiarchy.

He also continuously praised the Omnissiah in binary, and with great difficulty, managed to secure a meeting with the Fabricator-General of Mars of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

Furthermore, he convinced the Fabricator-General of Mars by promising that after a victorious expedition, three planets would become Forge worlds and fall under the Adeptus Mechanicus's control.

After all this effort, he turned around and discovered that the Fabricator-General of Mars had been replaced, and the Grand Marshal of the Adeptus Arbites had been arrested.

This news made him feel as if the sky had fallen.

He had worked so hard for so long, only for it all to come to nothing. He had just managed to win over a few high lord, and they had vanished again.

Bribing the new high lord again was something he was familiar with and confident about, but the time it would consume was an unknown.

Under these circumstances, feeling extremely pained, he came to House Yaeger's palace on Terra.

After his arrival on Terra, thanks to his relationship with Grisha, he had been staying with House Yaeger all this time.

After all, it was the family of his former subordinate, and House Yaeger still showed them some preferential treatment.

Being able to stay with House Yaeger also had some benefits for him in contacting the high lord.

Otherwise, with his own capital, he could forget about trying to win over three high lord in a short amount of time.

The main reason was precisely because he was the patriarch of a family subordinate to House Yaeger, and House Yaeger's high lord representative was also an old childhood acquaintance of his.

Because of this, when he felt disheartened and very troubled, he still chose to return to House Yaeger's palace.

When his two childhood acquaintances left, they had already told him that House Yaeger's high lord representative on Terra had been replaced by Zeke.

Because of this, he planned to meet his nephew before going out again to bribe the other high lord.

"Young Master, would you like to see him?" The old butler reported Karl Reiss' wish to meet Zeke.

After dealing with those high lord who seemed like imbeciles and replacing the Fabricator General of the Adeptus Mechanicus, Zeke was currently contemplating his next move.

After all, the current situation of the Imperium of Man was not good. Cadia had still fallen, and although the Great Rift had not appeared, a great deal of chaos had still emerged.

The galaxy was simply too vast; relying solely on House Yaeger and Zeke's fleet for suppression was too troublesome.

The Imperium of Man's army was enormous; while its quality wasn't great, its quantity was indeed immense.

Zeke felt it would be a waste to leave such a force unused.

Just as he was thinking about how to utilize this military force and armed forces, his uncle arrived.

The candidate to command the Imperial armed forces had just appeared.

"Please let him in. I have something I need to discuss with him." Zeke nodded gently, not losing his composure.

"Yes," the old butler acknowledged and left. Soon, he brought Karl Reiss in.

After all, this was the uncle his father had brought to meet and acknowledge, so Zeke courteously greeted him first.

"Uncle, you still look as dashing as ever. How have you been on Terra recently?"

Karl Reiss gave a bitter smile, his fatigue difficult to hide: "Dashing as ever? My dear nephew, your uncle here has been so worried these past few days that a few strands of his hair have turned white."

He sighed, sitting down in the chair opposite Zeke, his voice filled with helplessness: "I finally managed to win over three high lord, and then you came along and arrested them all... My efforts of the past few months have gone to waste."

Zeke smiled and personally poured him a cup of tea: "Don't worry, Uncle. Things might not be without a turn for the better."

Boris looked up, a glimmer of hope in his eyes: "My dear nephew, do you mean...?"

"Those fellows were already useless to the Imperium anyway; replacing them is quite good," Zeke said dismissively. "What's more, I can approve the expedition permit you need right now."

Boris's eyes widened, and the teacup in his hand nearly fell to the floor: "This... this simple?"

He had never imagined that he would receive such a huge surprise just by coming to chat with his nephew.

Zeke showed no other reaction to his shock. Instead, he stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the scene on Terra.

"I need someone to command the Imperium's armies to reclaim the lost territories."

"The Imperium's regular forces need their commander.

It just so happens that, after looking around, Uncle, you are very suitable. You yourself need to reclaim your lost star sector, and House Yaeger also needs to regain control of the entire Segmentum Obscurus."

"You have this capability, and we are also familiar with each other, so I will entrust this to you."

With a few casual words, Zeke decided on the upcoming Great Crusade and, incidentally, the next Solar Lord.

Zeke needed someone to mobilize troops to reclaim the lands in the Segmentum Obscurus that had been encroached upon by chaos, to take them back.

There was no need to worry about Cadia; Rogal Dorn would naturally take the Imperial Fists there, and Zeke would also expand the Imperial Fists' army and be responsible for keeping an eye on Cadia.

In this way, the other lost territories could be reclaimed by his uncle, who would launch a Great Crusade.

Zeke's idea was very simple.

As a top-tier superior, he could decide this matter with a few words, while Karl Reiss had still not recovered from his shock.

He had never imagined that a simple visit would bring such tremendous good news.

The matter he had been striving for seemed about to be realized with a single sentence from his nephew.
