Morning arrived dull and gray, the storm clouds still crouched low over the hills. The mansion's corridors were cold, and the smell of rain lingered in the air.
Rekha sat at the edge of her bed, unmoving. Her hands were clasped in her lap, the silver bracelet on her wrist glinting faintly in the half-light. She hadn't slept because of night activity with Alex . The image she had shown her—blurred, uncertain, yet cruelly convincing—played behind her eyes in an endless loop.
Prem's having affair with her mother even seeing that he still want to ask him and so she tried to dismiss it many times, to reason it away, the doubt returned stronger.
And yet… something deep in her chest whispered that she had always felt a distance growing between her and Prem after what's she done with Alex last night due impulsive thoughts.
A knock at the door broke her thoughts. Prem stood there, smiling faintly, unaware of the storm forming in her eyes.
"Good morning," he said. "I was wondering if you slept well. The rain kept me awake half the night."
Rekha didn't return the smile. "Did it?" Her voice came out sharper than she intended.
Prem blinked, confused. "What's wrong?"
She rose slowly, crossing her arms. "I could ask you the same."
He frowned. "Rekha, what are you talking about?"
Her voice trembled—half from anger, half from heartbreak. "I saw you. Last night. With my mother."
Prem's confusion deepened into disbelief. " Your mother? What—Rekha, what are you saying?"
She took a step closer, her eyes glistening. "Don't pretend. I saw what are you doing to her. The way you—" She stopped herself, shaking her head. "Whatever that was, it wasn't you should have done ."
For a moment, silence. Then Prem laughed softly, the sound brittle. "Rekha, that's absurd. Who told you this? Who's been filling your head with nonsense?"
Her breath caught. Who indeed?
I saw with my own eyes what are you doing with either , She wanted to deny it, but her pride wouldn't let her. "Does it matter? The truth is the truth."
Prem's face hardened. "No. This is madness. You're tired, upset—"
"Don't," she cut him off, her voice breaking. "Don't you dare tell me what I am."
He took a hesitant step forward, but she turned away, folding her arms tightly. The space between them stretched like a wound.
"I just need time to think," she said finally, her tone low. "Please... just give me space."
Prem stood in the doorway, speechless. There were no words to bridge what had just been broken.
When he finally left, the sound of the closing door echoed long after he was gone.
Rekha sank back into her chair, tears threatening but never falling. Her heart ached—not because of certainty, but because of doubt.
In the corridor beyond, unseen, Alex lingered in the shadows. He watched her through the half-open door, his expression unreadable, hands clasped neatly behind his back.
Raagini's whisper brushed the edge of his thoughts.
She believes it.
Alex gave the faintest nod. "now it's my time to play role ," he murmured. " you see ."
Alex move towards Rekha room seeing Rekha sat alone in the dimly lit corridor, her reflection faint in the tall windowpane. She looked fragile — elegant but hollow-eyed, her thoughts adrift in the wreckage of doubt.
It was then that Alex appeared.
He approached quietly, the soft sound of his shoes barely disturbing the still air. His calm, unreadable expression made him her spirit go up.
" Rekha," he said gently, stopping a few steps away. "You shouldn't be sitting in the cold. ."
Rekha glanced up, startled. "Oh… Alex. you."
Her voice was tired, the edges frayed. "I couldn't just stop thinking about it."
Alex tilted his head slightly. "Sometimes you have let go something."
She gave a faint, humorless smile. "You're right about that."
He stepped closer hug her in his arms and said . "Forgive me if I overstep, rekha ," he said softly, "but… it's not my place to see someone as kind as you look so lost."
Rekha sighed, her eyes distant. "No you are so kind because when I feel lonely you come to comfort me ."
"Always," Alex replied, his tone warm. " now I here you don't have to care about anything ."
She turned to him slowly, studying his face. There was something steady in his gaze — something that drew her in, she couldn't resist kiss his lips which Alex also responded.
"Alex… do you really never leave Mr ?" she asked.
He smiled faintly and kiss her forehead ." no I never leave "
Rekha lowered her eyes, her voice barely above a whisper. "then you have to take care of me for rest of your life ."
Alex kiss her red lips in response and said " I also take care of you "
She looked up again, tears glinting faintly in her eyes. "then prove me "
Alex met her gaze, his voice low and certain. "I will and carry her in pricesss hug towards bed .
Soon room was filled with louder moans along with flesh slapping against each other.
