Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Artificial Love

『Felix Karl Grimm』

Although Giffany was something I could only describe as a god tier pull, here was the problem of her being described as a yandere, but I think I read something about Familiars in the handbook the Dealer gave me, let's see...

Ah, here it is.

By default, any familiar you have is absolutely Loyal and Obedient, even if they may take a personal dislike to you they will never work against you and will absolutely obey any order you have for them regardless of their opinion. This includes trying to undermine you, perform subterfuge or otherwise harm you, their loyalty will never waver even if their enthusiasm does. Despite their loyalty they still are their own entity and can have their own opinions about you.

So it shouldn't cause any problems.

Feeling a twinge of nervousness I mentally prompted to let my newest familiar out of their spot in my familiar space, the place they went to whenever I wasn't using them, apparently.

A little zap touched my Agent and it suddenly came to life without my input, the screen opening to show a very stylized girl with pink twin tails ending in plugs wearing a sailor uniform and waving towards the screen with a bright smile on her face.

"Hello there, my new boyfriend!"

I held up the agent up with slight disbelief. A whole being manifested to just serve me, and not only that, they were a powerful sentient AI. I watched Gravity Falls of course, so I knew her whole shtick of possessing electronics.

"Hey Giffany, nice to meet you too."

Let's see how this murderous AI does against the murderous AI's of this world.

I have a feeling my mission just got a hell of a lot easier.

✧―✧―✧―✧「」✧―✧―✧―✧

Talking with a sentient AI in love with me was rather weird but considering Giffany was a familiar it was not too hard to adapt to it. Even if her constantly staring at me with stars in her eyes and emoting hearts felt a little weird. And just in case, I set boundaries first with her, like no hurting anyone out jealousy and toning down the jealousy.

"So, Giffany, what do you think about the technology of this world?"

She put a finger on her chin and manifested a throbber above her head to indicate her thinking which I found rather cute before she spoke.

"Well, it beats my worlds by miles for sure. It's both good and bad."

She manifested a blackboard as a visual to show what she was saying which I internally awed at the ease she was doing this stuff.

"It's bad because this world is pretty aware of someone like me. So they have stuff to deal with me, I could probably fry the average Netrunner easy-peasy but I'd be hard pressed to deal with stronger "ICE" and Firewalls since I'm not used to dealing with that stuff. So I'm not quite at that 'Alt' woman's level." She made her point with an 8-bit Giffany getting zapped and turned to ash by red lightning.

So no letting her instantly vaporize Arasaka and Militech, got it.

"BUT! At the same time, this world is perfect for me to get better! I can learn from the code they use, analyze it and become even better at doing Netrunning and hacking electronics. Ha, ha, ha, with enough time I could even devour the Blackwall and become Supreme AI Giffany-chan. I just need the time and resources. What do you think my Boyfriend?"

I nodded my head at her explanation.

"I'm thinking you are even more amazing than I first thought Giffany, you are amazing." Her cheeks reddened at the praise as she puffed her chest out cutely. "So, by resources I guess you mean stuff like Quickhacks, shards and such?"

She nodded excitedly, like a puppy, scratch that, she was making a puppy tail actually wag behind her.

"Pretty much! I can also scour the net and play around there, but the most efficient method would be for me get my hands on some quick hacks and infiltrating subnets. Speaking of subnets..."

A spark leaped out of my phone and into the outlet in my wall, making my Agent return to normal display. After a few seconds, the holographic screens above my bed that usually displayed adds changed to Giffany waving at me.

"Yup, the subnet of this Megabuilding really isn't all that strong! I can take control over it without much problem, I'll spend time poking here and there to see what I can do while you are on your little "Date". Geez, how rude to go in a date with a different girl when your adorable Girlfriend is right here!"

She harrumphed while I scratched my head awkwardly.

"I'll try to make it up to you later so don't get sad Giffany."

And she perked right back up.

"Alright, I'll hold you to that my Boyfriend! Now then..." She cracked her fingers with a smile. "I know you need some money, so let's see if I can make you some!"

Giffany was definitely the best supernatural yandere AI girlfriend a man could have.

『Rebecca』

"So Becca, who you waitin' for? Got new Output?"

Rite spied from the side as they shared a smoke, Rebecca had arrived a bit earlier since she had nothing to do. She was familiar with the Mox, she had quite a few friends inside and was a regular at Lizzie's bar. She was half irritated and half impatient as she waited for the mystery man to arrive.

"Nah, nothing serious. Just some choom who asked me out is all, and I thought why not. problem is, don't even know what the man looks like. Was wearing a helmet when we decided to meet."

She chortled and nudged Rebecca on the shoulders.

"Heh, what're you planning to do if the Gonk looks like an animal behind that mask?"

Rebecca's face soured, she wouldn't consider herself vain, but looks did matter in a relationship. Well, they could still drink and have regular fun if he looked like an animal. She did kinda owe him for saving her life.

As she was about to reply a young man approached the two, grabbing both of their attention due to how contrasting he looked compared to other people. He looked quite handsome, comparatively to the average NC resident at least, with soft blonde hair and pale purple eyes, he was of average height, and wore simple clothing, black pants, a white shirt and a bomber jacket over it. And she noticed that he did not have a single bit of visible chrome, not the gleam of optics, no EMP threading, and even his port was not easy to see. She'd have thought he wasn't a Night City citizen if not for the iron handle stick out of his holster.

He walked towards them, she found it funny how his eyes tried their best to avoid looking at their scantily clad forms. Rita stepped forward with her baseball bat slung over her shoulder.

"Hey there pretty boy, what're you doing at Lizzie's Bar? Never seen your face around before."

He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly before turning to look at Rebecca.

"Hey Rebecca. Yeah, I'm new around here."

Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows, something felt familiar but she couldn't put her finger on it.

"Do I know you, choom?"

"Oh yeah, I was wearing a mask then. My bad, I'm Grimm, remember? Earlier in the day?"

Rebecca blinked once, twice.

"Wait, no fucking way! You're kidding me! No way you're Grimm right?

Rebecca said with a half laugh as she approached him, the height roughly matched, and the voice was similar when not obscured by the mask, but she found it both unbelievable and hilarious that that Grimm that had demolished a Maelstrom Hideout just because he felt like it looked... looked like some Arasaka Academy boy!

...That being said, he was very much her type, she much preferred this kind of youthful look on him.

"Uh, yeah, I am. Unless I'm not me of course. We agreed to meet here no?"

Rita turned to her with an eyebrow raised.

"Becca? How did you find this frest meat? Did you pick up from daycare or something?"

Rebecca huffed and threw up a middle finger towards Rita.

"Oh fuck off! He helped me with some Maelstrom earlier in the day. He's an Edgerunner like me."

Rita's eyes widened a little in recognition.

"A merc, and you call yourself Grimm?"

'Grimm' nodded.

"Yeah, some Mox girls said I'd get a discount if I visited."

Rebecca's brows scrunched while Rita barked out a laugh.

"Well I'll be dammed, you're one lucky man Becca, seems like you got yourself a good date. Don't let the girls get their claws on him or else they won't let go."

The only words that properly registered to Rebecca were the discount. She quickly made her way over to her date and hugged his arm with a coy expression.

"Oh choom, you didn't tell me you had a discount here! Maybe you'll buy this poor girl a few drinks?"

"Sure, let's go in. Drinks are on me." He said with a slight blush on his face.

Rebecca internally smirked, plan success.

✧―✧―✧―✧「」✧―✧―✧―✧

"So, Choom, what chrome are you packing?"

Rebecca asked nonchalantly as she sipped her drink, Lizzie's bar had some quality drinks, though her date(?) simply ordered juice instead, he hadn't touched a drop of alcohol. She was wondering what kind of chrome he had to pack to make Maelstrom gonks look like chumps.

"I don't have any."

Rebecca did a double take.

"No fucking way, you packed up those Maelstrom chumps, and you're telling me you're full ganic? Not even a port?"

She barked a noise of disbelief while he nodded and sipped on his drink.

"Yup, I'm not from Night City, been here for barely a month. But if you know how to shoot your gun and how to not get shot, apparently you don't need much chrome."

He pulled out an agent to demonstrate his point and Rebecca leaned back in disbelief. Sure, she was not high up there in chrome, only having some Kiroshi Optics, Synthskin, Snythlungs and the basics, but she felt both awe and disbelief at the fact that the man slaughtered Maelstrom that took her down easy did not even have a single pound of chrome.

"Damn, gotta be a special kind of psycho to be an Edgerunner without any chrome choom. But that's pretty darn cool. Wanna talk about some gigs we've done? I remember this one time when I-"

She talking about one of her jobs that had gone awry where Kiwi was intercepted by another netrunner and the target they were stealing from came into the room too early, forcing her into the shootout with the gonk. Grimm was pretty good for a conversation, listened intently and let her speak before asking questions, which was basically everything her brother wasn't. So he was already pretty good in her books.

"So, how about you Grimm? Any standout stories? Or feel like spilling the secrets about how you got a discount here? I'd love to know for myself~ who knows, maybe I can get my own discount."

He took a long sip of his 5th box of Biotechnica brand banana milk, which contained neither banana nor milk before speaking.

"Sure. So I took a gig from Regina, to go into the Ho-Oh club and kill Jotaro Shobo, a Tyger Claw higher up, real scumbag-"

Rebecca slammed her hands on the table.

"Oh! That's you!? I thought Grimm sounded familiar!"

Rebecca slinked back into her seat after a stern glare from the bartender but now everything made sense. No merc living in Watson hadn't caught wind of Grimm, the new merc in town taking missions left and right, leaving a trail corpses behind wake. But what put him on the radar was going to a Tyger Claw hideout alone and slaughtering every gonk inside before retrieving Jotaro Shobo without so much as a lost limb.

She thought it was total bullshit and would have kept thinking the same if the man in front hadn't slaughtered a Maelstrom Hideout to "stretch his legs" when they first met.

"Yes, that's me, Grimm. Hello."

No wonder he got a discount at Lizzie's Bar, she was surprised she hadn't had to bat away some girl from trying to abduct him to the changing room. But y'know...

It was kinda hot.

She liked the kind of man that handle themselves, not overly bulky like Maine. And his was face pretty nice too. She found the contrast between this "Grimm Reaper Merc" and this somewhat shy boy very cute.

But she was not an easy woman, she barely knew the choom after all. Though as it stood right now.

She quite liked this little reaper.

A/N: Giffany is literally the best familiar he could have gotten from that ticket. He got a fish in a world of water. This psychopathic technopath AI waifu will prove that it's not Corporations that rule the world, but her. But she is not an instant win card, she will still have to build strength to face the big bosses. What did you think about MC rolling her? I'd love to know.

Giffany is cute, Rebecca is cute, Grimm stays winning. Now that Rebecca is here proper, Grimm will start making the big waves. Did you guys enjoy the little bar date? I wanted to show that Grimm's gigs weren't just meaningless beyond making money. Reputation is everything in Night City, and Grimm is building up a fearsome one.
