Chapter 7 - A man stuck in dreams

Johnothan and the other creatures lived in a large medieval city stretching across the hills.

It was so large that it felt almost magical.

There were houses and houses in every direction as far as the eye can see.

And in the middle of the city, looming over the main square, was a castle.

Likely taller than the world's largest building.

Though the world's largest building wasn't that tall since it was only 1923.

But this castle must be at a height of 1 mile.

And it was nearly as wide as the Colosseum.

But in that moment Alistair heard something that caught his attention

"The end times loom near! I am bringing salvation to all who accept!"

A madman was shouting at the top of his lungs in the city square outside Johnathan's house.

Whoever this is was probably sick in the head or something.

Alistair knew that everyone in this realm had the vision, and they were probably all scared.

But thinking that you could bring Salvation is just downright insane.

Nobody without a contract could even come close to power like that.

And if this deity that was going to bring this apocalypse was one of the hundred gods of all things, and was truly equal in power to the other ones, even a contract couldn't grant you the Full power of a god.

Maybe the man was just trying to take advantage of the desperate situation and gain control over the people.

A truly despicable act.

Alistair had to stop this.

"Hey, you!"

The man looked at Alistair's angry face

" Me?"

"Yes, you!"

" Do you want to accept my salvation? Because I shall happily save you, dear child!"

"I don't want any of your crap! Stop trying to manipulate people! You're a disgrace!"

The man's expression darkened.

" Ah, I see. I will respect your decision."

Alistair grew more frustrated.

"Get out of here! Nobody wants your lies! We are all scared, there is no doubt about that! But we're not going to fall for your pathetic attempts at controlling us!"

Another person spoke up from the crowd.

" Yeah! Get out of here ya lunitac!"

More people started to yell at him, angry.

"That will be enough"

A booming voice came from the sky.

Alistair looked up to see a light coming from the top of the castle.

"I am your king. You may trust in me. Do not fall for this man's deceit."

The Voice echoed throughout the city.

"In fact, I have a few words of advice for you all"

Everyone stared up at the castle, waiting for what this so-called king had to say.

" Sign this contract and you will truly be saved."

A large paper materialized on the wall of the castle, looming above the central Square.

It had one word written on it.

"SALVATION"

All the people stood there for a second.

Questioning the king's words.

But they have always been taught. The king is the one truth since they were kids. Or so, Alistair's friends told him.

Then all the people pulled out their pens, then ran over and signed the big piece of paper

Alistair was not going to though.

This could be a contract application for a God.

And Alistair did not know which God he was going to apply to.

And besides, He wasn't planning on losing half of his lifespan for some power, unless it meant saving his friends.

No matter how this king framed it.

Signing the contract was too risky.

For a few moments, nothing happened.

People just stood there, sighing in relief.

But then something happened…

All the people who signed the contract dropped dead.
