Chapter 91 - Mission Changes

During the rinsing process, Aosqin also tried moving his body a bit. There was a slight feeling of soreness and weakness, but it shouldn't have any real impact on tomorrow's training.

Most importantly, with the help of the mirror, Aosqin discovered that the bruises that should have existed on his back were now completely gone, without a single trace remaining.

"Looks like the main effect of this medicinal bath formula should be focused on recovering bodily injuries and fatigue. Such an effective medicinal bath formula—who knows where Master got it from? The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, or the Spirit Hall?"

After Aosqin woke up from the wooden tub filled with medicinal liquid, he instinctively activated the scanning ability of the All-Knowing Library to analyze the components of the liquid. This medicinal liquid's formula was not the same as the medicinal bath formula Aosqin usually used.

Based on the medicinal knowledge Aosqin had learned over the years from the soul power cultivation section of the All-Knowing Library, the medicinal liquid formula Master used likely had limited effects when it came to enhancing physical quality. Comparatively speaking, the medicinal bath formula Aosqin himself used—found in the All-Knowing Library—was far more comprehensive in its effects.

"This medicinal bath formula should also be one of the reasons Master dared to arrange training missions of this intensity to test our confidence, right?"

Yes, Aosqin finally understood Master's reason for doing this, because before losing consciousness, Aosqin had clearly seen the look of appreciation in Master's eyes.

"Although it's a bit pretentious, I still don't really like being tested this way to see whether I'm worth cultivating!"

After leaving the bathroom, Aosqin thought about his own concerns while tidying up his clothes.

Once he finished organizing his clothes, Aosqin naturally sat down at the desk in this not-so-large temporary dormitory. Eat? Not for now. There were hamburgers—he wouldn't starve to death. There were more important things to do at the moment.

Taking out a stack of blank paper and a drafting pen from his storage soul tool, Aosqin began rapidly drawing the manufacturing blueprints for various components on the paper.

Speaking of which, this was actually the first time Aosqin had gone through the process of drawing design blueprints before making something. In the past, he would directly follow the blueprints provided by the All-Knowing Library and get straight to work. When it came to cutting corners, Aosqin really didn't want to add any extra labor for himself.

However, this time, the thing Aosqin wanted to make wasn't a soul tool at all. So after finding relatively suitable blueprints in the All-Knowing Library, he could only make modifications himself.

The modification process went relatively smoothly. Although Aosqin had been a liberal arts student in his previous life, he still knew basic mechanical physics. Coupled with the ability to conduct simulated experiments in the All-Knowing Library, as long as there were no major issues with the overall direction, it was just a matter of trying a few more times.

After tidying up the blueprints on the desk, Aosqin checked the time and realized it was already almost six in the morning. He decisively gave up the idea of going back to bed for some sleep and instead started cleaning up the large wooden tub he had used. Since the chubby guy sharing the dorm was still in a meditative state, Aosqin deliberately lightened his movements while moving the tub.

The chubby guy, Ma Hongjun, had woken up at around three-thirty last night. He hurried to the cafeteria to eat his belated dinner, and after coming back, he had curiously asked Aosqin what he was doing.

In response to Ma Hongjun's inquiry, Aosqin didn't hide anything, directly stating that this was a tool designed to make the training missions a bit easier. However, the specific effect would still need to be tested after it was made to be certain.

Faced with the "admiration" Ma Hongjun expressed through his eyes—admiration that Aosqin had already thought of a way to take shortcuts so quickly—Aosqin accepted it without the slightest bit of modesty.

After all, Master only stipulated that soul power couldn't be used; he didn't say that auxiliary tools were forbidden. Moreover, the tool Aosqin was making was mainly aimed at the mechanism passageways. Things like vine safety ropes were still not convenient enough. The paths that needed to be run and the physical conditioning that needed to be trained—Aosqin had no intention of cutting corners on those.

After cleaning up the wooden tub,

Aosqin walked out of the dormitory door and arrived at the small training field. Having sat on a bench for nearly three hours straight, Aosqin felt that his body had already become completely stiff. In order not to give Master any reason to nitpick during the so-called warm-up battles an hour later, it was definitely necessary to start moving around in advance. However, before warming up, Aosqin first sent a message to Kaowen to have it come over. There was basically no possibility of manufacturing those blueprints by himself. During the intensive training period, Master wouldn't allow Aosqin to have any personal time, so Aosqin needed Kaowen to take these blueprints to Soto City to find his parents, have them hire craftsmen to make them, and also purchase some other materials. Otherwise, that tool would just be an empty shell without a soul.

After half an hour, once a full set of the Five-Animal Frolics was completed, Aosqin finally saw Kaowen emerge from who-knows-where. Taking so long to arrive made it obvious that Kaowen hadn't been in this small valley base earlier. And after accepting Aosqin's task, Kaowen immediately turned around and ran off without any hesitation, showing no intention of staying to play with Aosqin for a while.

Seeing this behavior, a trace of somewhat strange expression flashed through Aosqin's eyes. "This dog definitely has a problem. Could it be that it went off to hook up with a female dog?"

However, Aosqin clearly didn't have the time to investigate the answer to such a question right now. After eating breakfast in the cafeteria, Aosqin followed his usual routine of taking a walk to aid digestion. This would be the only leisure time Aosqin had for the entire day. Aosqin firmly believed that Master would definitely make all the trainees get used to the lifestyle of waking up from a medicinal bath in a large wooden tub every early morning.

However, when today's training began, something happened that put Aosqin in a fairly good mood.

Master told everyone that the mission quota he assigned yesterday was only specially set up to test whether the trainees could truly give it their all for a predetermined goal. Everyone's performance yesterday had satisfied him, so starting today, the base number of laps would be changed to six. As for whether this number would increase, it would depend entirely on individual performance.

This was actually great news. Aosqin believed that he wouldn't be the one to get punished. If Aosqin didn't have to accompany Tang San and Dai Mubai to complete the punishment tasks the two of them had failed to finish yesterday, his mood would definitely have become extremely good.

Even as someone accompanying them, Aosqin could now use soul power and didn't need to wear the weighted belt. But even so, it still couldn't eliminate the resentment in Aosqin's heart caused by not being able to watch the show.

Perhaps Aosqin's resentment was simply too strong, because Tang San and Dai Mubai, who were running laps, both shivered at the same time.

After completing the punishment tasks, Master continued arranging the so-called warm-up battles. The opponents varied, the combat restrictions varied, and the number of participants varied. Everything was wonderful—except for the fact that Aosqin was not allowed to use soul tools.

Without being able to use soul tools in battle, Aosqin couldn't enjoy the pleasure of standing outside the opponent's attack range and pouring out his firepower. This situation made Aosqin's mood even less pleasant, so his opponents naturally had to become less pleasant as well.

With this thought in mind, Aosqin let Master and the other seven trainees present all experience firsthand what was called a shameless defensive style.

With the Flame Armor Shield as the core and three Telekinetic Shields as support, Aosqin neutralized all of Ma Hongjun's attacks—which had been enhanced by Ning Rongrong—and forcibly dragged things out for half an hour, completely draining Ning Rongrong's and Ma Hongjun's soul power.

It wasn't that Ma Hongjun hadn't tried close-range attacks. It was just that Aosqin had played the three Telekinetic Shields to perfection. From start to finish, Ma Hongjun never managed to hit Aosqin even once, and for most of the time, he was blocked outside a one-meter radius around Aosqin's body.

After all, Ma Hongjun's close-range attacks were still considered conventional physical attacks. It was only because a bit of fire enchantment effect had been added that they looked particularly troublesome.

Since they were still conventional physical attacks, there would inevitably be points of force application and centers of balance. Once these two points were disrupted, Ma Hongjun's close-range attacks would naturally be interrupted as well.
