Unlike the Shrek Seven Devils' more traditional three-row formation, the Royal Fighting Team adopted a long, narrow "2-1-1-2-1" formation with a wider gap between the front and back.
Yu Tianheng, the team's absolute offensive powerhouse, wasn't at the very front. Standing at the forefront were the defensive Shi brothers, possessing the Xuanwu Turtle Soul. Had the two burly brothers not been positioned too close together, the Shrek Seven Devils wouldn't have been able to see the Royal Fighting Team's back rows.
Yu Tianheng was behind the Shi brothers, and behind him followed the Royal Fighting Team's control-type Soul Master, Vice-Captain Dugu Yan.
Following them, the agility-type Yu Feng and Oslo stood in front of the support-type Ye Lingling.

"Hmm, is this the senior from the Royal Fighting Team?"
After the members of the Royal Fighting Team lined up their battle formation on the stage, a man standing in the instructor area of the Royal Fighting Team simultaneously attracted the attention of Oschin on the stage and Flander in the audience box.

Although there was no actual clash yet, the invisible auras of the two sides were already fiercely clashing. Seeing that the captains' auras were locked in a stalemate, the other members of both sides also began to release their Martial Souls.

The Shrek Academy team's martial soul release was slightly quieter, but visually stunning. A gentle blue light spread, and centered on Tang San, dark blue Blue Silver Grass slowly covered the entire half of the arena belonging to the Shrek Academy team.
A slight tightening at his waist told Oschin that Tang San's Blue Silver Grass had been wrapped around his waist. With the power of this grass, Tang San, possessing the Tang Sect's ultimate techniques, could truly unite the team as a whole.
As long as they remained within the Blue Silver Grass's connection range, the Shrek team members could, with Tang San's help, quickly retreat or perform evasive maneuvers that defied the laws of human motion.
In less than three seconds, both teams had completed the entire process of releasing their Martial Souls. Before the host could announce the start of the battle, the Shrek team members stuffed hamburgers and antidote sausages into their mouths.
The atmosphere on the stage grew increasingly tense. The host's announcement, "Battle begins," completely released the tension that had been compressed to its limit.
With a roar like a tiger, Dai Mubai activated his first Soul Skill, "White Tiger Protective Barrier," his body enveloped in golden light, charging fearlessly towards the Royal Fighting Team.
Dai Mubai's actions didn't cause any change in expression on the faces of the Shi brothers at the Royal Fighting Team's front. In fact, Dugu Yan was the first member of the Royal Fighting Team to use her Soul Skill.
Because the Soul Arena was enormous, both teams instinctively moved closer to each other at the start of the battle. However, Ye Lingling, the support-type Soul Master standing at the rear of the Royal Fighting Team, showed no intention of moving, instantly creating distance between herself and the main force of the Royal Fighting Team.
The Shrek Seven Devils were initially quite pleased to see this; the greater the distance between Ye Lingling and her teammates, the weaker her protective force, making Shrek's "decapitation" tactic easier to execute.
However, Dugu Yan's next action made the faces of the Seven Devils, hidden beneath their Soul Guidance Masks, turn grim. Her first Soul Ring shone, and Dugu Yan turned and exhaled a puff of pale yellow poisonous mist. The mist seemed to have a mind of its own, forming a circle that completely enveloped Ye Lingling, leaving no opening.
