Chapter 4 - Ch.04 trip

2 years later

I finally was going to Japan. I was so excited — I had imagined this moment for literal years. We arrived in the underground complex where we met the Japanese representative in front of a big-ass metal door.

"Good morning, Mr. and Ms. Adeoye. What a wonderful day it is," he said with practiced enthusiasm.

They responded with nods, clearly not paying attention to what he was saying.

"Now Ade, make sure to call us every once in a while, ok," my mother said with tears forcefully put back in the ducts they came from.

"Remember what we discussed, my cub," my dad said in his ever-so-stoic voice.

Flashback

"Now, my cub, there is something we must discuss — something," he said, not waiting for me to respond, and started walking into our house. I followed him into the dining room where he was already seated. I sat on the other side of the table and waited for him to speak.

"...As you know, our family has tasked you with setting a foothold within Japanese society. I'm going to tell you how we have been doing this for more than a century."

He looked me in the eyes and spoke words I thought I would never hear from him.

"You must get as many mates in places of power as possible. Heroes are the default choice, but we don't discriminate against strength. All members of the Adeoye Clan have a quirk related to lions, but few men have some... added features. We release pheromones that produce hormones in women — most related to love."

It took me a second to process his words, but once it hit, I couldn't help but let my tail sway behind me. Dad saw this and couldn't help but smile at my enthusiasm.

"So you're telling me that my mission is to make strong women mine?"

He chuckled and nodded his head. He even said he had one prepared for when I get there. I could only hope who it was.

(I wanted to add that his father did try to do the same thing but ended up meeting his wife early on — and she could handle him all by herself ;).)

End of Flashback

I said my final goodbyes to the only two people I actually cared about. I walked with the representative till we made it to an underground tram that took us to a private jet with a final landing point of Japan.

As I was boarding the plane, the representative handed me a dossier containing all important information. It had where I was staying, the school I was going to, and who was going to house me.

NAME: Adeoye Adekunle AGE: 12SEX: Male HOUSE ADDRESS: Mustafu 111(gonna be honest I ain't gonna actually figure out their system for addresses — it is confusing)GUARDIAN: Rumi Usagiyama

I couldn't help but smile at the name — it was perfect (Freaky ahh cat MF). I looked through the other small details, but nothing else was that important.

The rep looked at me without a single care and started listing off some stuff I needed to know.

"You will be living with Rumi Usagiyama, better known as the hero Mirko, the up-and-coming rabbit hero. She will manage your training and housing while you attend school for 6 years till you go to the university U.A. While on Rumi Usagiyama's property, you will be permitted to use your quirks, but anywhere else you must get clearance before you can use it. If this isn't followed, you may be imprisoned for violating the law."

(I made them go to U.A at 18... I know it's still bad, but to my defense I'm typing a fan-fic for degenerates on a Chinese spyware app so I don't think it really matters.)

It was annoying that I didn't have full clearance to do what I wanted, but it was better than nothing... and in due time, I wouldn't have to listen to these wimps anyways.

The plane ride was pretty boring — besides the busty flight attendants that would listen to anything you said and would try to fulfill it to the best of their ability (obviously within reason :( ). Aside from hot Japanese women, nothing else was interesting, so I slept most of the ride.

My eyes shot open as we were nearing landing. I saw the beautiful coastal city Mustafu. I only saw maybe 10 seconds of it before we were down enough that I could only see the airport's flat runways. We landed and left immediately since there was no queue for private planes.

Within 10 minutes from landing, we were on the road in a Mubaru (Subaru) heading toward Rumi's estate. Traffic wasn't pretty, but that wasn't on my mind — I was waiting for the moment I saw the chocolate bunny.

We spent another 20 minutes in goddamn traffic before we made it to the bunny playground, where we were greeted by a bunny waiting at the gate.

"WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!" Rumi yelled with clear impatience.

"My apologies, Ms. Usagiyama, traffic was terrible," the rep said with feigned sympathy.

Rumi sneered at his attempts to calm her down.

"So you must be Ade... whatever. Ok listen here, squirt — you better be strong or I'm sending your ass back to that lawless place you came from," she said with a climbing smile, a clear attempt to set the mood.

"I would be happy to demonstrate if you'd like," I said, matching her energy.

She started grinning as the gate behind her started opening as she walked in.

"Well? Let's not waste any time — now follow me," she said as I was openly ogling her.

The rep coughed, bringing me back from my intense focus.

"If she refuses to house you, we have many other families willing to take you in. Just call the number saved in the phone we gave you," he said as he went back to the driver's side of the vehicle and got in. He sped off fast.

The only thing I could do was follow her, so I started the trek through the gates toward wherever I was going. I made my way through the dense forest all the way to a simple building.

She was standing by the side of the building like an NPC waiting to give a quest.

"WELL, WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG? I've been waiting for like 2 minutes already," she blurted out in pure impatience, tapping her foot like Bugs would.

"I'm sorry, I had to talk to that douchebag a little longer."

Finally being among my peers, I could relax and speak my mind. She clearly held the same sentiment as her foot tapping settled, and she no longer held the annoyance she emanated.

"Well, fight behind the house. Don't have an arena, so just make sure the damage is minimal, please," she said, clearly not worried about anything, as she turned and moved to the back.

I stood there maybe 15 feet away from her. We stood there gauging each other till she finally spoke.

"The rules are simple — beat each other till one wins, got it?" she said, readying herself to pounce/bounce.

I didn't wait for her to start the fight — I started morphing. I changed myself into something akin to a were-cat. It was the in-between human and lion. It was weird looking, to be honest, but it had the best of both worlds, so I couldn't complain.

She looked at me with fascination — not worried about appearances, but the strength behind the furry man-cat.

She yelled out to start, and she jumped at me with unmatched speed. She went for a classic Luna Arc — she aimed her foot at my head.

I moved my head back, with her big toe narrowly missing my face. She didn't let this shock her, and she let the kick's momentum move her into position to use her arms to piston off the ground toward my face.

Not letting her take the lead, I once again narrowly dodged the kick, grabbed her wrists, and proceeded to hulk-smash her into the ground.

She wasn't injured — just amused. She got up and got ready to launch another attack.

She went for another kick — this one to the side of my body. Not one to shy away, I took the kick head-on to see if I could.

The kick fucking hurt — the pain spread across my whole arm, tapering off near the shoulder — but it didn't break my arm, and that's all that mattered.

Seeing that her attack didn't go through, her smile grew to the point it looked painful.

She didn't stop and went for a textbook kick to the noggin, which I blocked with ease due to the amount of strength that was put. I launched a gut punch, which she blocked with ease.

This went on for hours with varying levels of intensity. One hour was filled with her just throwing attacks with no care for defense. It was clear that she didn't go all out — her attacks could damage the strongest of materials without suffering more than some scratches.

Even with her going easy, fighting someone who was more mobile than you wasn't fun. It made every move a game of catch-up where you win if they slip up.

"Kid, you better get faster if you want to beat me. We'll spar every Friday, got it?" she said with a calm smile.

She went toward the back door.

"We're having carrot stew tonight," she said before disappearing into the house.
