Konoha Hospital
Ryuken slowly opened his eyes, staring up at an unfamiliar white ceiling. His body felt heavy, wrapped tightly in layers of bandages. For a moment, he couldn't remember where he was — then flashes of his fight with Might Guy came rushing back.
The door slid open, and a nurse entered with a gentle smile.
"Oh, you're finally awake. How do you feel?"
Ryuken blinked. "A little hungry… and these bandages feel tight. Do I have to keep them on?"
The nurse chuckled softly. "Only until tomorrow. Honestly, your recovery is unbelievable — after that kind of damage, most would need a week in bed. But you… your body healed itself faster than we expected. You can leave once someone from your family arrives."
Ryuken nodded, watching her leave. His eyes caught a small fruit basket beside the bed. He ate quietly, then focused his thoughts.
"System — open Quests."
A bright, blue holographic window unfolded in front of him.

Ryuken gazed at the glowing text, then raised his hand. A surge of light gathered — and from it, a red-silver little spear materialized. The weapon pulsed faintly, humming with quiet menace.
"So this… is his spear," Ryuken murmured.
The crimson grip felt alive, resonating with his heartbeat. The air around the blade rippled — as if the world itself feared its edge.
"Seems I wasn't meant to just pass," he muttered with a small smile. "I had to prove myself."
He stored the spear back into his inventory, determination burning in his eyes.
"Next time… I'll fight using this."
Meanwhile — Hokage's Office
Hiruzen Sarutobi sat behind his desk, clouds of pipe smoke drifting lazily through the room. His eyes flicked toward the door as it opened.
"Orochimaru," he said, exhaling slowly. "You came faster than I expected."
The pale man entered, his golden eyes sharp and calculating. "You should know the battlefield isn't so easily left unattended. So, tell me, old man — what did you summon me for?"
Hiruzen slid a folder across the desk. "I want you to take a team. Become a Jōnin-sensei. You can choose three of these academy graduates. The results speak for themselves."
Orochimaru flipped through the files disinterestedly — until one name caught his attention: Anko Mitarashi.
"A civilian girl defeating an Uchiha… interesting. Tactical, perhaps. Strong, even."
He turned another page — and paused again.
Ryuken Uchiha.
A small, amused smile crept across his lips.
"An Uchiha who lost because he can't use Ninjutsu? Depending solely on Taijutsu? A disappointment… or perhaps something else."
Hiruzen chuckled quietly. "That's rare. You never find students 'interesting,' do you?"
Orochimaru glanced up, his voice cool. "It's nothing special. Just… unusual."
The Hokage leaned back. "You should know something, my student. That boy — Ryuken — was already strong enough to be a Genin two weeks into his first year. He's mastered more Ninjutsu than most Chūnin, and his chakra control surpasses his peers. But he hides his talent deliberately. I forced him into this exam because it would've been a waste to let him wait four more years."
Orochimaru's eyes narrowed, intrigued.
"So… a genius pretending to be ordinary. Hiding in the crowd to avoid attention… much like a serpent waiting to shed its skin."
He smiled faintly. "Very well. I'll test them — Ryuken Uchiha and Anko Mitarashi. If they prove worthy, they'll be mine."
Hiruzen sighed, half amused. "Just… make sure you don't anger the Uchiha clan. Ryuken is the grandson of Kagami Uchiha. Treat him as a student — not a lab subject."
Orochimaru's grin widened as he turned to leave. "Of course, old man. I'll take… good care of them."
The door shut softly behind him, leaving only the faint scent of tobacco — and Hiruzen's quiet murmur:
"The path of shinobi begins… and the storm is coming."
