Finding out that my mother was actually pregnant was a shock. It was something I wanted and was definitely happy about, but it was still a shock. It happened so suddenly. My mother kept shouting, overflowing with happiness.
"I'm really pregnant! I'm going to have a second child! After trying for so long, it finally happened!"
After trying for so long?? I don't want to ask any questions about that.
"Mom, calm down. Those tests can be wrong, we should go to the hospital. And if you really are pregnant, you shouldn't be jumping around like that."
"But I'm so happy! I need to call your father right now!"
"Wait, wait, my dad is at work right now, don't do that. You can talk to him when he gets home. Let's go to the hospital, okay? I'll go with you."
"Kyo, you really are very responsible, aren't you?"
So, my mother decided to go to the hospital with me. I called a taxi, and as soon as we arrived at the hospital, my mother explained the situation to the receptionist and was taken to a specialist doctor for an examination.
I had to wait while the examination was being done.

After a while, my mother appeared with a huge smile on her face. "Hehehe, I really am pregnant. You're going to have a little brother or little sister, Kyo!" My mother gave me a tight hug.
I hugged her back and smiled.
"Congratulations, Mom," I said to her.
I don't know how to react in this kind of situation.

After we got home, my mother started telling all of her friends the news. Not that she had many. They were all either coworkers or old friends she no longer kept much contact with.
Honestly, she should start going out more with some friends. She spends too much time at home.
As for me... after receiving the news, I sent Rina a message to let her know, but she said my mother had already told her.
So I sent Miu a message to talk about it. It took her a while to reply, but she eventually did.
[I'm so happy to hear that!!! I always wanted a sibling too, but unfortunately that's out of the question :(]
[I hope your mother is doing well and that your sibling is born healthy!]
We had just found out about my mother's pregnancy, and she was already wishing her good luck and good health. She's so cute.

After that message, Miu stopped sending messages. I held my phone for a few seconds before sending her a message. A message I had never sent before.

And Miu didn't reply.

When I arrived at the gym after not going for two days, the woman at the reception greeted me with a smile.

I smiled at the woman, and her face turned red.

With my phone in hand, I approached one of the machines to train my chest. I put on my headphones and started my workout. I did a few sets before standing up.
It felt like my muscles were about to explode.
'I think I overdid the weight a little.'
Sweat was running all over my body.
While an incredibly cheerful song made for an anime blasted through my headphones, I moved to the next machine to continue my workout. However, suddenly, someone placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Hm?"
I turned around and came face to face with someone I didn't expect to see in a place like this.
"I didn't expect to see you here at this hour. Hehehe."
It was Eiri, smiling.
I smiled awkwardly and took off my headphones.
"And you? Why are you training so late? Besides, I didn't know you came to this gym."
"I usually come in the morning, but since I couldn't make it this morning, I decided to come now. I didn't know you came to this gym either. What a surprise."
As she said that, Eiri was carefully looking at my arms and chest.
I looked down, and my muscles were on full display because of the sweat. I probably shouldn't have come wearing a white shirt made of such light fabric.
"Well, now you know. If you'll excuse me."
"Hey, why are you being so cold?"
"Huh? I'm not being cold. I just want to finish my workout and go home. I have work to do."
"Hmph!"
"Besides, we can talk anytime through the computer or on our phones, right?"
I gave her a smile and put my headphones back on.
"Good luck with your workout," I said.
However, instead of walking away to workout somewhere else, Eiri started following me around and working out beside me as if we were gym buddies.
