"I—of course my sister told me!"
Ye Yu's face instantly turned bright red.
"Then how did you know my size?"
Xu Mu turned to Ye Tong with a teasing smile. "I don't recall ever telling you."
Ye Tong's expression grew a little unnatural. "I measured it when I was organizing your underwear."
Before going shopping that day, Ye Tong and Ye Yu had deliberately rummaged through his wardrobe, taking out all of Xu Mu's clothes and measuring everything carefully.
They both felt that since moving in, they'd never actually bought him anything.
So this time's outing was mainly to buy clothes for Xu Mu.
"What about you, Wanyue? What did you get?"
Xu Mu turned toward Meng Wanyue, smiling as he accepted her bag.
"President Xu, I didn't buy anything. Sister Yepicked something for me," Meng Wanyue said, a little embarrassed.
"I noticed Wanyue always wears either business attire or tracksuits," Ye Tong said, pulling two dresses from her bag. "She's got such a pretty face—it's a waste not to wear skirts."
"Not bad," Xu Mu said with a smile. "Sometimes a change in style is good."
"Oh, right! I also bought you a casual outfit," Ye Tong added mischievously. "It just so happens to match Wanyue's dress—it's a couple's set."
Her tone was full of deliberate hints.
In fact, she'd started hinting at it even while shopping: first picking out the casualwear and saying Xu Mu would look perfect in it, then trying on the matching dress herself, claiming it didn't suit her, and finally convincing Meng Wanyue to wear it—lavishing her with praise after.
Hearing this, Meng Wanyue blushed and lowered her head shyly.
Ye Yu sighed quietly from the side. That was the only couple's set left—if there had been a smaller size, she would've bought one too.
Still, she was already planning to take Xu Mu out for their own matching outfits another day.
"President Xu, Sister Ye… if there's nothing else, I'll be going now."
Meng Wanyue clearly felt too awkward to stay.
"Go? What for? Stay for dinner!"
Ye Tong grabbed her hand immediately. She was determined to find ways for Meng Wanyue and Xu Mu to spend more time together.
Wanyue was kind and gentle—Ye Tong liked her very much.
If things worked out, they could share the "burden"—she'd take the first round of rest, Wanyue the second… everyone could sleep comfortably.
"That's right, Wanyue—stay and eat," Xu Mu added with a grin.
Meng Wanyue hesitated, then nodded.
Soon, Xu Mu found himself acting as a live mannequin, changing into the new clothes.
With his physique now strengthened, his former bit of belly fat was long gone.
At 1.85 meters tall with solid proportions, he could pull off nearly any outfit.
When it was over, he collapsed onto the sofa in exhaustion.
He could spar with Ye Tong for hours without tiring—so why did trying on a few outfits feel more draining?
As evening approached, Ye Tong asked Xu Mu to keep Meng Wanyue company while she cooked dinner.
But with Ye Yu fidgeting around nearby, Meng Wanyue was too shy to chat much.
After dinner, Meng Wanyue quickly excused herself—almost fleeing the scene.
Watching her leave, Ye Tong's affection for her only deepened.
Of course, Ye Tong had her own selfish reasons.
She feared Xu Mu might someday be ensnared by a scheming woman and forget about her entirely.
But Wanyue wasn't that kind of person—and that put her at ease.
"Xiao Yu, you've walked a lot today. You must be tired—go to bed early," Xu Mu said. Then he took Ye Tong's hand and headed upstairs.
"Brother-in-law! It's Saturday! I'm off tomorrow too!" Ye Yu protested.
"There are only two days off—did you plan to hog them both?"
Xu Mu laughed, pulling Ye Tong along faster, locking the bedroom door behind them.
Ye Yu knocked on the door a few times, then went back to her own room.
Locking her door, she threw herself face-down on the bed, burying her face in the pillow.
"Stupid brother-in-law!"
Though her words were indignant, her cheeks glowed pink.
The next morning, Xu Mu stretched lazily and got up.
After washing up, he sat on the living room sofa.
With all the chaos he'd stirred, if Feng Kang didn't go after Dai Xiao now, he'd never hold his head high again.
Still, in his anger, Feng Kang would never spare Xu Mu either.
Chen Cai's betrayal was one thing—but Xu Mu had made sure to amplify the scandal until it spread across Yang City and even the whole Jiangbei business circle.
There was no way Feng Kang would let that go.
Just then, Xu Mu's phone rang.
He glanced at the screen—Feng Jian.
Xu Mu sighed. Looked like a call to "settle accounts."
When he answered, Feng Jian's voice came through at once:
"Brother Xu! What about that medicine you promised me?"
Xu Mu blinked in surprise—apparently, to Feng Jian, his own life mattered most.
"I contacted the miracle doctor last night," Xu Mu said smoothly. "He agreed to send me three pills."
"That's good," Feng Jian sighed in relief. "By the way, when I brought breakfast to my mom just now, she told me to relay something."
"What is it?" Xu Mu asked.
"She said that as long as you can keep her alive, she'll help you with what you asked before."
Hearing that, Xu Mu smiled faintly.
So Chen Cai already realized she was doomed.
Feng Jian had no standing in the Feng family—let alone his mother.
She could barely protect herself, much less save anyone else.
And as for Feng Ruìlì—forget it.
"Brother Xu, are you there? My mom said if you could install surveillance in our house without being noticed, you must have a way to save her," Feng Jian continued.
"I'll think about it," Xu Mu said. "Even if I help, she'll have to hand over the item first."
Then he hung up.
By now, Ye Tong had come downstairs. After greeting him, she went to prepare breakfast.
Once they ate, she left for the company.
Xu Mu didn't rush to go out. He was a man of his word—since he'd promised Feng Jian, he'd make a few pills.
Still, they would only serve as temporary relief—each pill would last half a day at most.
Until the Feng family's mess was resolved, he wouldn't completely heal Feng Jian.
Just then, his phone vibrated again—it was Xu Shou.
"What's up?" Xu Mu answered.
"It's Ningbing," Xu Shou said. "She suddenly asked for a few days off, said she needed to clear her head. It feels abrupt—did you two argue again?"
"Damn it! That old woman!"
Xu Mu immediately realized—Xu Ningbing must've gone to the place she'd mentioned before.
"What's going on?" Xu Shou asked, his tone growing serious.
"It's nothing. I'll call her first," Xu Mu replied, hanging up.
That old woman really wasn't afraid of death—did she think she was the protagonist or something?
He quickly dialed Xu Ningbing's number.
When she answered, he asked sharply, "Where are you?"
