Chapter 104 - Chapter 17 My best friend! It’s up to you!

Hogwarts Library is located on the fifth floor of the Castle.

It houses thousands of bookshelves, displaying tens of thousands of books, a true paradise for book lovers and readers.

Previously, Madam Irma Pince, the librarian, would patrol the library to prevent books from being damaged, mistreated, or desecrated.

She also stopped Young Wizards from talking and playing, disrupting the reading environment, and maintaining order.

Especially when it came to two Young Wizards, one male and one female, this situation required special attention.

Madam Pince had noticed Karl and Nina last night; they were both flipping through books and twirling their wands, their postures perfectly synchronized.

She didn't expect them to be back today, so she immediately focused her observation on them.

However, these two Young Wizards had some skill; though she clearly saw their lips moving, she couldn't hear any sound when she approached.

"Why is she staring at us?"

"Hmm… maybe she wants to learn how to twirl a wand."

Nina glanced at Karl's hair, which had been ruffled into a bird's nest, and then raised her hand to tap his forehead again.

"Can I learn that trick?"

Feeling his muddled brain clear up once more, Karl was somewhat tempted by the effect of this skill.

When Nina went to Transfiguration Class in the afternoon, his efficiency in reading alone was a bit low.

"Unfortunately, this is a secret family technique."

Nina rolled her eyes at him, knowing that he had ulterior motives.

He claimed to be accompanying her to read, but in reality, it was just for her to give him buffs.

"What a pity!"

Karl yawned, simultaneously closing the spellbook in front of him.

After an afternoon and evening of searching, he had flipped through over a dozen compilation books but found no sealing magic.

Forget about specific spells; he hadn't even found any information or descriptions.

"What exactly are you looking for? Do you need my help?"

Nina remembered that Karl had only read two books last night, mostly jotting down interesting spells to practice or ask a Professor about.

But today… it looked like he was just flipping through books for fun!

"I actually do need your help. What do you know about sealing magic?"

"Sealing? magic?"

Upon hearing Karl's question, Nina couldn't help but frown.

"It's about hiding or protecting something dangerous… mainly spells that seal things away."

After thinking seriously, Nina began to list things by counting on her fingers:

"I can only think of some counter-spells, Patronus Charms, protection charms, and concealment charms. There really aren't any sealing spells."

"For example, an Anti-Apparition Charm to seal off an area, a Patronus Charm to repel certain anomalies, a Guardian Charm to block external invasions, a Fidelius Charm to protect a specific address, a Muggle-Repelling Charm to hide a particular area…"

"But these spells are all for targeting or resisting external forces. As for what you said about sealing dangers… I have no impression of that."

After saying all this, Nina offered the most reliable solution: "Why don't we go ask Professor Flitwick or Headmaster Dumbledore?"

Karl nodded in agreement, "That's my final solution as well."

"Should we go now?"

"Let's go!"

Eighth floor of the Castle, Ravenclaw Dean's office.

Professor Flitwick, after hearing Karl's question, frowned and thought for a while, finally shaking his head helplessly.

"I'm sorry, I cannot answer your question."

Seeing Karl's disappointment, Professor Flitwick stood up and walked out, motioning for Karl and Nina to follow.

"However, rest assured, child, there are many knowledgeable Professors in the school."

"Come on, I'll take you to seek help from Headmaster Dumbledore; he is the greatest Wizard in the world."

So Karl and Nina followed behind Professor Flitwick, traversing the corridors of the eighth floor.

"Professor, is the Principal's office on the eighth floor?"

"Hard to say… but at least one entrance is on the eighth floor."

"Huh?" × 2

Karl and Nina exchanged confused glances, indicating they didn't understand.

However, he could be certain that there was absolutely no restroom in the Principal's office.

"Whether it's the eighth floor or the third floor, you can reach the Principal's office, and both require taking an automatically ascending spiral staircase."

"I've always suspected the Castle has a ninth floor or even higher, and the Principal's office is there."

"Of course, this is just my guess; only the Principal knows the true situation."

As Professor Flitwick spoke, the three arrived before a giant stone gargoyle in the corridor.

"This is the gargoyle. As long as you say the correct password, it will… Hmm?"

Before Dean Flitwick could finish speaking, the giant stone gargoyle suddenly came to life, leaping aside.

The wall behind it split into two, revealing a slowly moving spiral staircase and an old Wizard standing right behind the door.

This wasn't Karl's first time seeing Albus Dumbledore, but that was at the start-of-term feast.

From a distance, he could only see that his Principal was thin and tall, with long white hair and a white beard.

Now, observing him up close, Karl clearly saw the wise blue eyes and the legendary crooked nose that had been broken at least twice.

"Headmaster Dumbledore."

"Professor Flitwick, and Mr. O'Rolin and Miss Goldstein, is there something you need me for?"

Dumbledore greeted Professor Flitwick and looked at Karl and Nina gently.

"Are you going out?"

"That is the case, but it is not urgent."

Professor Flitwick immediately explained Karl's question, hoping the learned and wise Principal would offer guidance.

"I also pondered this question back then and made some insignificant discoveries."

Dumbledore slyly winked at Karl, motioning him to look at Nina beside him.

"Sealing spells did indeed appear in history, but they have been lost for almost a thousand years."

"If you wish to explore this, Miss Goldstein will be of more help to you than I."

Nina: (⊙_⊙)?

Really? How do I not know?

Dumbledore, in Karl's helplessness and Nina's confusion, happily strolled away.

Leaving Professor Flitwick trying to smooth things over, "The Principal is just cultivating your ability for independent thought and problem-solving, not intentionally teasing you…"

Karl: You guess if I believe that?

However, although Dumbledore didn't spoon-feed him, he at least pointed him in the right direction.

"My best friend! It's all up to you!"

On the way to escort Nina back to the Ravenclawcommon room, Karl immediately sent Fire Treasure to curry favor with her.

"Chirp~"

Fire Treasure, making amends, used all its charm to act cute, its adorable appearance melting hearts.

"Alright! I know, I promise I'll think about this even in my dreams."

Nina nuzzled Fire Treasure, then placed it in Karl's hand, waving goodbye at the base of the tower.

Last night, the bronze knocker, provoked by a certain someone, went crazy, asking increasingly tricky questions.

The result was that many young eagles were blocked outside the common room, and eventually, someone had to open the door from the inside to let them in.

So it was better not to let Karl go up.

"Good night~"

"Night~"

Watching Nina go upstairs, Karl, with Fire Treasure on his head, returned to the Hufflepuff common room.

Just as he was about to ask Cedric to teach him WizardChess, he saw the other boy looking at him with surprise, as if he were a warrior.

"What's wrong?"

"Aren't you going to class?"

"Huh?"

Karl looked around and realized that there wasn't a single first-year student in the common room.

"Oh no! My Astronomy Class!"
