Chapter 145 - Chapter 59: Phoenix Spreads Its Wings and Freezes the World

After burning all the Acromantulas blocking his way to ash, Karl did not rush forward.

Instead, he waved his sleeve, manipulating the sky-high flames and the Phoenix into a towering wall of fire, blocking the view of Hogwarts Castle and the Corridor Bridge.

"Fire Treasure, go stop Professor Flitwick and Milo, don't let them come over."

"Yi Ya!"

Fire Treasure straightened his small face, nodding in a serious manner.

Then, in the next second, he chuckled as he rubbed cheeks with Karl, then quickly flew outside the wall of fire.

"Naughty!"

Karl closed his eyes and took a deep breath, instantly transforming into an Ice Phoenix.

After all, he was about to fight a Basilisk, and he was very wary of this monster that kills with its eyes.

To some extent, a Basilisk's threat to people is no less than Fiendfyre, and it's even more convenient.

After all, when facing the pursuit of Fiendfyre, one can still find ways to dispel it or escape.

But a Basilisk kills very simply; as long as you make eye contact, you're dead before you can even react.

It felt like if a Dark Wizard controlling a Basilisk were to launch an attack, they would only need to bring this thing to a crowded place.

Then shout, "Everyone, look at me, look at me, I'm announcing something!" and then, when everyone looks over, just release the Basilisk.

"Whoosh—"

Cold winds howled, and ice and snow descended.

After Karl's transformed Ice Phoenix appeared, the ancient glaciers of Freljord seemed to reappear in this place.

The scorched earth, burned by flames, was quickly covered by ice, as if it had become an Arctic ice field.

The scorching airflow from moments before rapidly transformed into a biting cold wind, with heavy snow falling and ice crystals spreading.

Under the illumination of the bright moon and the white wall of fire, Karl's eyes glowed, and his crystal-clear azure body emitted a noble and mysterious light.

"This feeling—is really good!"

"Ice Phoenix Spreads Wings! Storm be with me!"

Karl, unable to suppress his inner chuunibyou, recited two of Anivia's lines and flew straight towards the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

"So this is what a Basilisk looks like."

Deep green scales covered its entire body, and its ferocious head had a pair of cold, emotionless yellow eyes.

This Basilisk should not be very old; it did not have the enormous size of the Basilisk in the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets, being only about the thickness of a bowl, while its length could not be guessed, as it was coiled up.

"Hiss!"

The Basilisk met Karl's observing gaze, fiercely raised its body, opened its mouth, and revealed two sharp fangs.

"Has it already attacked?"

The moment his eyes met the Basilisk's, Karl perceived an invisible wave assaulting him.

However, to him, in his Phoenix form, it was as harmless as a gentle breeze.

In fact, besides wanting to test his new abilities, this was the main reason Karl chose to transform into an Ice Phoenix: a Phoenix is immune to the Basilisk's deadly gaze.

Although Phoenixes are only classified as 4X in the magical creature category, seemingly inferior to dangerous 5X magical creatures like Acromantulas, Basilisks, and Dragons.

But in fact, this classification standard is based on the magical creature's danger level to Wizards; the Phoenixbeing rated 4X is not because it is aggressive, but because very few Wizards can successfully tame it.

In fact, as a spiritual divine bird, the Phoenix's magical qualities surpass all other magical creatures.

For a Phoenix, Fiendfyre is no different from ordinary flames, and the Basilisk's dangerous gaze has no effect whatsoever.

It can teleport at will, its song has magic, and its tears can heal injuries.

Most importantly, a Phoenix is immortal; even Avada Kedavra merely causes it to be reborn.

Although Karl's Ice Phoenix is very different from Fawkes, for example, it cannot teleport, has no magical song, and no healing tears.

But as a demigod bird that controls the power of ice and snow, it can still revive and be reborn, is not afraid of Fiendfyre or the Basilisk's gaze, and is even far superior to Fawkes in terms of combat.

"It's rude not to return a favor! Take this, my move! Glacier Storm!"

As Karl flapped his wings, the boundless and majestic power of ice and snow instantly froze this entire world.

The howling blizzard swept across the land, and whether it was the snarling Acromantulas or the attacking Basilisk, all had turned into ice sculptures.

"Ah! Avada Kedavra!"

The Dark Wizard next to the Basilisk glowed with an ominous bloody light, broke through the ice, roared, and cast the killing curse at Karl.

"It's that strange bloody light again! But I'm different now!"

"Ice Barrier! Frostbite!"

With a thought, Karl raised a solid ice wall to block the Avada Kedavra.

At the same time, ice cones radiating endless cold whistled out, easily piercing through the bloody light's defense, penetrating the Dark Wizard's body, and pinning him to the Acromantula's ice sculpture.

"Crack!"

Amidst the sound of shattering, fragments of ancient armor scattered from the dead Dark Wizard onto the ground.

Good news: Equipment dropped.

Bad news: Equipment shattered.

"Ice Melt."

Karl circled once in the air, the blizzard quietly subsided, and the icy world was unfrozen.

At the same time, all the ice sculptures immediately turned to dust and collapsed, as if the Basilisk and those Acromantulas had never appeared, completely disappearing from the world.

Clean and hygienic! Quite eco-friendly!

"What exactly is this thing?"

Karl flew closer and transformed back into human form, casually turning a stone into a box to collect the armor fragments.

"I'll take it back for Dumbledore to look at, maybe he'll discover something."

Just then, Fire Treasure sent a message mentally: it was almost unable to hold them back.

Because besides Professor Flitwick and the cat-leopard Milo, Professor McGonagall, Nina, Professor Sprout, and the young Wizards had all arrived.

"Incinerate!"

Blazing flames rapidly spread outwards from Karl, forming a sea of fire that incinerated all traces of ice.

The power of ice and snow was his trump card, so it was better not to let too many people know about it.

After finishing, Karl dispersed the sea of fire and the Gubraithian Fire that maintained the wall of fire.

At this point, the raging flames finally disappeared, leaving only scorched earth and the ashes of the burned spider colony.

Of course, the situation in front of the Corridor Bridgewas extremely tragic, with shredded magical plants and Acromantula corpses everywhere.

There were also stone statues covered in scars and even close to destruction, and broken floor tiles that Professor McGonagall had transformed into a pride of lions.

Not to mention the collapsed bridgehead and the defensive line that had been bombarded by spells multiple times.

"Karl!" XN

After the wall of fire disappeared, the young Wizards rushed towards Karl, their excitement comparable to that of fervent fans in the Muggle world.

This time, Charlie Weasley bypassed Tonks and was the first to reach Karl's side. "Where are the Dark Wizard and the Acromantulas?"

"They've been burned to ash and merged with the earth."

Upon hearing this reply, the young Wizards immediately cheered, "Karl won! We won! Hogwarts won!"

Amidst the cheers, Karl was lifted up and repeatedly thrown into the air by them.

"Hey, hey, hey! Put me down!"

"Don't touch me randomly!"
