Chapter 13 - Through Will's Eyes

Will Graham never expected he would meet his soulmate at the doorstep of Hannibal Lector's doorstep.

Alana Bloom stood in front of her with a frown hedging on a scowl.

"Will, this is my twin, Jade."

Blue eyes sparkled as the woman with dark hair and the smiling plush lips turned toward him.

"It's lovely to meet you at last."

She was glad, if not a little bit nervous but he got the sense it wasn't completely due to him.

And when the door opened and the owner of the house stood in the doorway's light Will didn't have to hear her heart leap nervously to know her nerves were for Hannibal.

"Jade Bloom, welcome to my abode."

Will was sure he'd never seen Hannibal smile, at least not one as predatory as this one was. A fierce light in his eyes, Will could see the plans form beneath those maroon orbs of his. Only for them to glance at him with a nod of his head, welcoming Will in regally.

Turning his head, he stepped out of the way and nodded toward Alana Bloom. "A pleasure as always, Alana."

Will watched as Hannibal helped Jade out of her coat, not missing how he leaned forward slightly to take a lungful of her scent. Please, no, not him. Will Graham believed he could share his soulmate with nearly anyone, but not Hannibal Lector.

Hannibal gave Will a close lipped smile as he looked up from behind Jade, as if he already knew the bond they shared through her.

Throughout the night Hannibal would catch his eye when they both looked at the same woman. It was when Alana boasted ironically over her sister's talents for the piano and singing that Will saw another clue to the mystery that was Jade Bloom.

"This song is for one of my found soulmates', Marcus."

The song she played on the piano 'the Fate of Ophelia' was lively despite the underlying sound of melancholy that once was.

Hannibal stood by the piano, the closest thing to a frown on his lips.

"Did you feel such before you met your soulmate?"

Jade shook her head, "Marcus is older than I and had been married when he was young. He lost his wife, due to a horrible tragedy. He stayed alive only for the hope of finding his soulmate one day."

She had a bittersweet smile on her lips, she missed Marcus.

Alana spoke with scorn, "Be careful, Jade, it sounded as if you have more than one soulmate."

But Jade did not look at her sister instead she made direct eye contact with Hannibal, "I do." She turned her head and gave Will a wink, and much to his embarrassment he blushed.
