The city of Byzantium seemed to be sickened as the news of the failed campaign spread like wildfire--Many gathered at shops to talk. While mothers and wives wept for their fallen men--Wondering whether they are alive or dead.

(Chu, chu) My hands then grazed at the two parrots Infront of me--They perched on to me through the window--As my lips curled in a smile. Then I gazed at the male bird--At how desperately he sang for the female. My hands then grazed the females feather--"Look at him, look at how sweetly he sings for you, give him a chance will you?
The door softly clicked opened as Dominic entered--I gave him a quick glance and a smile. Though he didn't return it back--His gaze was hollow, dazed as if he hadn't slept. He walked in slow steps as his face dripped with worry.
My smile then faltered as I got up--Then walked to him, "what happened baba (father)?" I asked, my eyes questioning him.
Dominic didn't answer--He couldn't, he let out a deep sigh as he then gazed at me for few seconds-- then his lips parted--"I don't know how to say this, my daughter"...
My hands then brushed his frail shoulders--"say it baba, whatever it is, please you are scaring me"... I murmured. Dominic then let out another deep sigh--Then his lips parted--"I heard from the people that t-the campaign has failed"--My eyes went wide, as I clasped my mouth letting out a gasp. What are you saying baba? are you sure?
Dominic nodded as his gaze then fell to the floor. My heart raced as I then gripped the edges of my sleeve tighter--Then my voice came low, weak, F-Flaytus...?
Dominic shook his head--We don't know, my daughter... nobody does until the capital announces it. I then walked away; my steps were wobbly as I stepped out.
Where are you going? Dominic asked, he then followed my trace. Just for some fresh air, father, I murmured, my back was still to him--As I held the hot tears that pooled over my eyes.
He nodded silently telling me to come back before noon.
I then left--To where? I didn't know...
My eyes were blurry from the tears as I then wandered around the forest--My heart empty-Yet heavy. Where are you Flaytus...? Then my breath hitched as I then began to sob violently. My shoulders shuddered with every move.
Then I heard the sound of a fierce current--The sound of the slashing waves cut through the stillness of the forest. As I then blindly followed it, soon finding an enormous waterbody.
My lips were dry as I gazed at the water before me--It was rumbling with anger--As if someone had offended it--My lips curled into a bitter smile--I was angry at Flaytus, angry at his silence but now it seemed to be nothing.
I then walked to it--The longs end of my flowy dress was already drenched--As I continued walking in further--Then my legs gave off as I then find myself lose balance--Just as my head was about to hit the ground--A firm grasp tugged at my arms.
What are you doing! the stranger's voice echoed in my ears as my vision went dark.
The last thing that I heard: I'm here my love... I'm here...
