(Izuku's Point of View)
Mina and I arrived alongside Kyoka and Momo, all of us standing outside an adjacent building to the one that the previous teams used. From what I could see the structure itself looked like a standard office building with fire escapes on either side and a simple wooden door as an entrance. There were less windows on this building, from first observation.
"Great, now that you're all here, I will assign you your roles." Mina frowned at the our teacher's words but held back any words she might have had. Drecarios grinned mischievously at us all before pointing towards me.
"Your team's gonna be the villains. Yaoyorozu, your team are the heroes. You have five minutes from when All Might says so to prepare in any way you see fit for the match." Drecarios' commented calmly whilst the hero team quickly gathered.
"Got any plan Midori?" Mina tapped my shoulder whilst grinning at me, her bubbly energy bringing a blush to my face.
"Ah, sure..." I took a deep breath, shuffling us away from Momo and Kyoka, "Your quirk allows you to produce acid right?" She nodded emphatically, her upper body bopping side to side in an anticipation.
"Okay, cool! Are you able to create acid that only eats clothes but is super slippery?" Mina stopped moving and brought a finger to her lips. I felt the heat rise in my cheeks at the sight, luckily for me she was preoccupied with her thoughts.
"Mhm, I could do something like that Midori... Why?" I smiled brightly, a bunch of possibilities flashing into my head.
"I want you to spread your acid onto the floors before doorways and even randomly around the building. The more areas they have to dodge, the more time they take to avoid our 'traps' the less they have to find the bomb." She jumped into me and gave me a tight hug before disengaging, her cheeks flushing in a beautiful purple.
"That's so awesome Midori!!!" I could feel my embarrassment and happiness burn up my chest and into my face.
"Ah, it's nothing Mina... I mean, your quirk is what's actually awesome." The purple in her cheeks spread up her face entirely.
"Ah-haha, ah, yeah! Thanks!" She awkwardly laughed before I coughed into the awkwardness.
"Ahum, no problem... Now..." I licked my lips a little, "Momo is going to be able to create stuff that can most likely track us, where we are and the noises we make." She nodded along.
"What I'm thinking is that we should break some of the internal piping in several of the rooms and drown out our voices with the sound of the water pouring into the rooms. We choose rooms that are far away from your acid traps so that they can possibly distract both of them. Kyoka has superb hearing as far as I can tell so drowning the building in sound will also help us with her..." Mina was blinking rapidly at my ideas before humming with excitement.
"Can we set the bomb on the second floor? Maybe in an elevator?" I tilted my head to the side in contemplation. It wasn't a bad plan by any means and would ensure that the location of the bomb was always on the move. Most people would consider placing the bomb in a room or maybe in a space that could be defended easily.
"If there is an elevator you could hit the stop button in-between floors. Then you could use the grate at the tope of the elevator to exit, then all you'd need to do is climb up." She winced.
"I'm bad at climbing with my acid..." Frowning at her slightly scared tone I motioned for her to continue with her reasoning. "Ah, I hate heights, first of all... And secondly, my acid is slippery as all hell..."
Grimacing I soon nodded. "Okay, that's fine. We'll work around it. If there is an elevator then we'll send the bomb in solo, then you can press the stop button and melt the call-lift buttons on each floor." Her eyes sparkled before she rushed in for another hug. I laughed at her antics as my mind conjured multiple additional plans.
"We're still doing the traps though and If it doesn't have an elevator then we'll just find a place to hide it. Hell, I could even hold it above the front door." She giggled at my sarcastic tone before turning to look at the other team.Â
"Do you think that keeping our plan simple will work against Momo?" I looked over at our two opponents as she asked her question, finding both of them giggling at a joke or something.
"The problem with intelligent people is that they tend to overthink. Momo is as intelligent as they come... Thus her biggest weakness is her tendency to overthink and undervalue herself. From all the research I've done on All Might and other heroes I've found that the simplest plan often has the most chance of succeeding." Mina turned to me and cocked her head to the side.
"But why then would we create traps if we can just take the simplest path of capturing them?" I rubbed the back of my head and laughed at her callus query.
"Because she knows that I am smart and will be expecting traps and contingencies. So I give her what she wants and then go for a simple win-condition that makes all the traps unnecessary." I looked at Mina and watched her eyes go wide and her jaw drop.
"W-what?" She shut her mouth and simply exhaled deeply.
"You're seriously scary Midori..." I began rubbing the back of my neck a little faster at her blunt remark.
"I'm not that bad. Right?" She shook her head and simply began giggling at me.
'I'm not that bad... right~!?'

(Momo's Point of View)
"So, versing Green huh..." Jiro muttered as we watched Mina and Izuku reacting to one another.Â
"Indeed. He shall be a difficult opponent to face." I sighed and contemplated our situation.
The building was made of concreate and thus difficult to pierce with sensors or scanning devices. Each fire exit was rusted and dirty, emulating the real maintenance standards of most fire-safety devices in public. From what I could see the roof was small and would most likely have a steel door at the top that would be easy to trap or lock. It was looking more difficult by the second...
"So what's the plan? We just gonna kick in the door and beat 'em up?" I chuckled at the rocker's antics.
"No, that is too simple of a plan for Izuku to succumb to... I'm afraid he will have traps set-up and-" I slowly cut off and froze in thought.
'Would he though?'
"Hey, Yaomomo, what's up?" I flinched out of my thoughts and blushed hard at the nickname, attempting to regain my poise soon after.
"I think he's going to avoid traps... He knows our quirks and that most will be useless... He may just go for a simple plan." Jiro grimaced at my explanation before dragging a hand down her face.
"Here we go... Look, you're both smart, you're both going to be trying to out-think each other. Don't think, just do. He won't be expecting it." My stomach groaned at the idea of letting my instincts take over. I had never done it in the past and it felt wrong even abiding the thought of not trying to analyse the situation. Yet her frustrated words would not leave my mind.
"But-" I looked over at Mina hugging Izuku and felt a small prick of something cold in my heart, "wouldn't he defeat us then?"Â
"Yeah, if you turned your brain off all the time. What I'm sayin' is you need to trust in your quirk and your badassery." She huffed out the rest of her speech as I internally mulled over each word.Â
I'd never gotten to use my quirk in combat before. I didn't feel competent with using it in such a fast-paced scenario without prior thought and planning. Ultimately my feelings were mixed on the idea... But her pout was selling it for me, she looked so desperate for me to just go with the simple solution... It was impossible to resist her logic as well. Midoriya had proven himself to be a titan of analysis, observation and quirk breakdowns. He'd seen my quirk in the aptitude test yesterday and had clearly shown his understanding of tactics. If we were to beat him then we needed to simplify our objectives.
"O-okay... We'll scan the building with our quirks, you with your jacks, mine with my created equipment. From there we make a quick plan that can bring us to their location as quick as possible. We aim to capture them first and find the bomb second." Jiro sighed before smiling.
"Sure boss! Just don't overthink things, ya hear me?" She huffed out before beginning to chuckle, the phenomena becoming infectious as I too started laughing.
A minute later a voice blared over the speakers, Drecarios-sensei wincing at the noise as it came out. "BOTH TEAMS HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO IMPLIMENT PLANS AND STRATEGIZE! GO!!!" All Might's voice broke both teams' planning sessions as Izuku and Mina ran inside, the door closing behind them.
"Let's hope that it isn't too difficult..." I couldn't help but whine out.
"Psssh, it'll be fine, stop overthinking!" Jiro intoned confidently.
I couldn't help but feel every single butterfly in my stomach as the count-down began.
~~~
(Izuku's Point of View)
The steps of our strategy began immediately... We found an elevator, a perfect spot to jam our bomb inside. Mina quickly placed the bomb inside and sent it up, pressing the stop button half way to the next floor and melting the bottom floor's button. From there she started spreading her slippery acid all over the floor in the foyer. I aided her by grabbing some crates and stacking them in front of the elevator.
From there we went floor to floor quickly, adding traps, blocking off entryways and destroying some pipes in rooms to create a loud cacophonous echo of water throughout the building. Aside from that I started putting boxes and sheets around window entrances, specifically the third floor; attempting to mask the location of our bomb.
Mina burnt every elevator button on every floor and then got some boxes in front of the elevator to cover her sabotage of the only entrance to the bomb. By this point half our time was up, we had raced up several flights of stairs and were huffing for breath.Â
Not wanting to waste time however I dropped back down to the ground floor and broke several lights whilst amplifying the magnitude of the lights' output with my vector control. Some rooms were now as bright as the sun whilst other as dark as an alleyway. This would hopefully make the use of night vision goggles impossible or simply a waste of time as it would artificially blind someone going from bright room to dark room and back again.
At the end of the fourth minute I met back up with Mina who was sitting on a crate, catching her breath.
"Everything set Midori?" Nodding, I dropped onto a crate next her's and quickly began stabilizing my breathing, using some meditation techniques my mom taught me when I got panic attacks in school.
"Yep! Now we'll wait on the third floor, this floor, and lure them into a false sense of security in believing that the bomb is here. I think we should choose a large corner room and put up a circular barrier of crates to make the illusion stronger." She squealed at my plan and got up to her feet.
"You're so cool Midori! I'm glad I got you on my team, it would have been horrible to fight you." My meditation exercise floundered instantly as I felt my cheeks flush again.
"I-i'm not that great..." She immediately began pouting, grabbing my arm and dragging me down the hallway.
"Nonsense! Now, let's go set up that illusion or whatever..." I sighed at her change in mood, women were so difficult to understand sometimes.
(Momo's Point of View)Â
"START!!!"
All Might's shout signified the end to the planning stage of the combat and now the game was on. Jiro immediately ran up to the walls of the building and pierced into the structure, attempting to get a ping on our targets. Meanwhile, I pulled out a machine with a roller that had a complex array of controls on top. It was a GPR scanner, or Ground Penetrating Rader scanner. The machine itself was complex but would allow someone to get a reading on the screen and see the different layers past a wall. There was no video-feed perse but it would give me the materials on the other side of a door for instance.
I ran up and placed it against the wooden door. The readings were empty except for the wood itself. I knew at that moment that past that door was a large foyer or hallway.
"There is a large hallway past the door Jiro-san." The rocker hissed and recoiled in pain as I finished speaking.
"They've burst some pipes throughout the building, I can't get a read on their location... It looks like we'll be doin' this the hard way!" My smile didn't reach my heart as I flashed it, my head already working on all the variables we could encounter.
"I'll break the door in and then we'll spread out from there." I nodded.
The rocker girl breathed in before slamming into the door, smashing it open and revealing a thoroughly trampled foyer. I stepped in after she stepped to the side, looking around at the rooms that branched off from long room.
"It's clear currently..." I murmured as a sense of unease flittered up and down my spine. The lights were off in the foyer and the crates at the end of the room were stack in such a way that you couldn't see what was behind them. They could be right behind them and we wouldn't know...
"Great so-" Jiro stepped boldly in and immediately regretted the movement as her boots gripped onto something slippery and failed to convey the correct amount of friction to facilitate friction. In other words, she slipped, horribly.
With a mighty thud her head struck the concrete and she groaned in pain, her eyes shut tight and her face scrunched in pain. "Oh! He used Ashido-san's acid as a trap! I knew he'd use traps and try to out-think me!"Â
"S-shut up for a second and help me Momo..." I paled and grabbed her hand, helping her up. At the same time I created torches arm-torches and some night vision goggles, which I immediately equipped and handed a pair to her.
"Use these, we can get past the traps easier this way." I lowered my night-vision and jumped from dry spot to dry spot, marking the acid spills with quickly conjured paint splashes.Â
From there our movements were methodical, Jiro using her quirk to sense where the pipe bursts were so we could head towards them in preference to acid traps... We used our torches extensively as the entire floor was bathed in darkness.
Eventually, after discovering the entire floor was dark, we decided to activate our night vision goggles and move to the next floor. The same traps were being used up the steps and had us climbing up using the metal railing instead of the floor. Both of us had to stop and take breaths every now and then as we became more exhausted my the unique physical exertion.Â
What was even more harrowing was the stacked crates and hardwood that leant against the doors in the stairwell. The acid was slippery enough that our feet could fall out from under us but adhesive enough to allow for the wooden stockades could stay in front of the doors. Eventually I had to create spikes out of the bottom of my shoes just to have a chance to stay standing.
Several minutes later we broke through the second floor entrance and came out into a completely clear hallway. Glass walls sat in-between us and the common office space, just as dark as the first floor.
"Do you think Izuku knocked out the power box?" Jiro whispered out as we both took steady steps towards the left wing of the floor.
I shook my head. "No, he said it was a naĂŻve move when Kaminari did that. I think he has simply snapped the cables that lead to the lights." My teammate grumbled under her breath as she reached out for a doorknob, her face twitching as the sounds of running water were no doubt getting to her.
"Let's hope that is all he has in his bucket of tools..." She turned the knob, her night vision goggles jittering a little with the movement.
The door creaked open and unleashed the sun.
"AHhhhhhhh! FUCK!" The sound of breaking plastic and metal echoed as Jiro slumped onto the floor, grasping her eyes. It was very painful...
How did I know this? I had done the very same thing as my eyes were swallowed in white and black sparkles, my vision swerving at the sheer intensity of light. This had to be the room right...!?
Blinking away the tears and light that was burned into my retinas I looked up into the room, noting that it was completely empty. No bomb, no villains, no Izuku or Mina.
"F-fuck, fuck, fuck... I'm gonna kill Green when I see him next time!" Gritting my teeth I grunted in affirmation of her intentions, I was of half a mind to bathe him in the most powerful light that I could generate.
Shaking off our pain and exhaustion we helped each other up and quickly closed the door. Both of us looked at the door in revulsion before we turned to the night vision goggles.
"We can't use them again... We have to rely on our torches." I nodded at Jiro's assessment and quickly kicked the stupid things away, creating another set of torches for our other arms.
"Here, we shouldn't be too far seeing as how they set up some nasty traps on this floor... I think the bomb will be on the next." The rocker nodded at my logic and we both quickly entered the stairwell again, using the metal rails to climb once more.
We reached the next floor and were immediately met with another barrier, that we immediately started to break down and shove away. The acid was getting thinner now and it seemed that Mina had been reaching quirk exhaustion.
Looking down at my watch I noted that we only had four minutes left.
"We've got four minutes, we've got to speed up." Jiro softly nodded at my semi-flustered words.
Both of us stepped out into the hallway where there were shuttered windows at the end of the hall and the glass walls that separated hallway from office space were covered over with crates or bits of wood.
"Do we split up?" I shook my head.
"No, try listening for them. This is a floor above all the pipes, it should effect you less now." She nodded and stabbed her ear jacks into the floor, her eyelids fluttering for a several moments before a feral grin slid over her features.
"I hear footsteps to the left, far room. I think Mina is getting impatient..." Jiro was growling her words out as I created a grenade launcher, loading the weapon with smoke cartridges just as quickly.
"Think you can fight in the smoke?" Jiro's smile became even more feral, if that was possible. I believe she was taking the light trap personally... Not that I blame her.
"Sure." At her utterance I quickly slapped the revolving segment of the grenade launcher and pulled on the trigger, a wet THWUNK sound proceeding the action as an explosion of smoke filtered out and expanded to encompass the entire end of the hallway.
"They heard it, the door is being held tightly." Jiro paused for a moment and then tapped me on the shoulder. "The bomb is definitely there, they aren't running or abandoning the room." I grinned.
"Excellent! Now I can test something I've always wanted to test..." My teammate looked up into my eyes with a question lining her lips. I answered it before she could even speak it, "If an actual grenade can penetrate concrete..." Her eyes bulged as I created an actual grenade round and fired it at the concrete wall adjacent to the door.
~~~
(Izuku's Point of View)Â
After eleven minutes of waiting the hero team had finally reached us. They had filled the hallway with smoke and, if I was to make an assumption, were about to breach either the door or the concrete.
"Mina, you go hide behind the crates. When they come in I want you to stay hidden until all of their focus is on me, then you can spring an ambush of sorts." The pink girl gave me a thumbs up before sliding over to the crates that were encircling our fake bomb.
Just as I was going to sigh in relief at her reaching cover a large explosion dully thudded against the concrete next to me, making me jump. Looking at the wall I witnessed cracks and fissures spreading along its surface as another dull thud struck it. Widening my eyes in awe and panic I flung myself back with my vector control and then intensified gravity around myself to stabilize my descent.Â
It was as I landed that the concrete wall cascaded inwards in a shower of rubble and the sickly white smoke seeped in.
'They're going to use shock and awe tactics. Momo will no doubt use her quirk as long range whilst Jiro uses her sounds or melee to face us.' I blinked and quickly straightened myself out. If I was going to be a villain in this scenario then I better act the part...
"Ah, heroes... Finally nice to meet you. I must thank you for the data you have given me, truly spectacular... To think that a simple light trap would halt your efforts to bring me to justice, is truly, stunning." A growl echoed through the opening as a pissed off Kyoka stepped through.
"GREEN! We're going to have a nice little chat!!!" She began running towards me, winding up her punch in a telegraphed manner. I cringed internally at her lack of skill, though I couldn't really say much seeing as how I sucked at martial arts; for now.
"I think not." I waved my hand at her and changed her vector completely. Her direction suddenly flipped 180 and the magnitude of her speed increased by a factor of three. In less than a second she was flung back out the same hole she came from and I could no longer see her... Something that I found annoying... So I changed the direction of the fog.
The fog was now moving out of the room and back towards the two heroes.
"Mina, love, I don't think these Heroes need our little plan anymore... Care to join me?" The alien girl giggled loudly as she stepped out from behind her crates.
"You really love roleplay, huh?" My stomach swirled a little at her teasing as I fought off a blush by staring out at Momo and Kyoka.
~~~
(Momo's Point of View)
So... Jiro just got shunted out of the breach and flung into a wooden crate... That happened...
'Why does this have to be so difficult?' I grimaced as the smoke that had covered our surprise entrance was filling the space around us. Now it would become a hazard for combat and make my response dulled in comparison.
Looking at Jiro for a second or two I could tell she was out cold, her eyes closed and her body lax against the uncomfortable wooden detritus. Licking my lips I started creating a flamethrower, my stomach generating the weapon whilst my right forearms generated a propane tank for the fuel.
I tried to arm my flamethrower as quickly as possible but was interrupted midway as the smoke was blasted away by an invisible force. Looking up just as I hooked up my propane tank, I found the emerald-green eyes of Izuku staring back at me with an arrogant look of derision.
"A flamethrower...? Really? Against me...? How quaint." The words made me feel worthless and hurt more than I thought they would.
"Midori, do you really have to ham up the Villain thing?" I blinked several times as Izuku, with his stringent posture and powerful demeaner slumped into an embarrassed and slightly annoyed slump.
"Do you really have to poke holes in my fun Mina!?" The girl giggled, she fucking giggled, at the man who just K.O.ed Jiro in one shot.
"Yep~!" He groaned.
Shaking my head I pressed on he trigger for the flamethrower, the propane hissing down the feeding loop before sparking against the flame at the end of the nozzle. Two seconds later a large gout of flame whooshed forth and spread towards Izuku, the man taking a defensive step backwards as Mina squeaked at the attack.
"Nope." And it was countered immediately...
His hand was raised palm forwards, as if commanding the flame to stop, when they froze and then surged back on me. A deep shudder of fear swept through me as I created a riot shield and flame-resistant armour.
My creations were mostly complete when the flames sprinkled back onto me, my hair complaining noisily as the ends melted and burnt into fine sooty strands. My eyes were wide as I stared at the man who had just turned my own attack back on me. He wasn't even strained!
"I applaud your effort, but it was for naught... Seeing as how we won." Just as he finished his sentence All Might's voice boomed over the speakers, his tone exploding with excitement and awe.
"VILLAINS WIN!!!!"
I slumped onto the ground at the announcement, my mind spiralling into how I could have done better... That I should have done better. Every step was calculated by him. Every move was accomplished with pin-point accuracy, as if he knew where we would go throughout the match. It was, humbling and outright dejecting.
'I'm a recommended student and I couldn't even win...'
"Hey Momo! Good job! You beat all of our traps and reached us, despite the fact that our tactic was to draw out time and time you guys out!" I looked up at Izuku and immediately felt lighter at his awed expression.
'Maybe I, we, didn't do so bad after all...'Â
Jiro slowly started to wake up from her forced nap.
"H-hwuh, what happened...?" Mina snickered as she helped the rocker girl out of the crates that were her bed for the last minute.
"We won is what happened short-stacks!" The purple haired girl groaned in pain and frustration before slumping into Mina's grasp.
