Mithril and Proto-adamantium softly crinkled back and forth between states as my secretary droid moved its dynamos up and down. The inner chassis was fully completed an assembled, designed in such a way to house multiple Tesseract weapons and blaster weapons.
The cranium, which I was observing with my powers, had two positronic brains that were working in conjunction and gave my future secretary 1/4th of the processing speed and computational power of Apollo himself. Additionally, the cranium houses hundreds of sensors that regulated heat and cold alongside sensations such as smell and touch. I stopped for a moment and contemplated the project Apollo had left to go manage...
With the information from the R-2 unit, Apollo and I had managed to design some basic security droids with simple material requirements. Currently, Apollo was buying up land next to our German HQ to create a large factory for the creation of our FD-1 Security Droids. The droids themselves resembled the Super Battle Droids of the Confederacy of Independent Systems; CIS.
Our upgrades to the designs covered seven areas. The chassis, Power systems, The Droid Brain, Sensor Suites, Weapon systems, Mobility and Communications.
The CIS were truly inefficient when it came to design as far as the lore was concerned and simply made the 'Super Battle Droids' a walking target with twin-blasters imbedded inside the chassis. The first upgrades we made were to the chassis, using titanium and durasteel as a basis. The joints were the weakness of the design and were prone to being ripped off with any level of abuse, we fixed this by increasing the plating and redundancy of the limbs; adding extra structural supports that could take over the primary connecter to that specific limb. Additionally we agreed to add layered plating over each joint connection, creating a scale-mail-like pattern of metal that flexed up and down with each limb. The last fixes to the chassis were a thickening of protection around the droid brain and a concentrated structural support system centred in the chest that acted like a back-up mobility centre for the droid brain.
Our next update to the design was to enhance its sensor suites and upgrade its programming to account for movement, attack patterns and shooting arcs. It wasn't that complex of a change and was made simple with Apollo's aid. This fed into the basic learning model that Apollo placed inside the droid brain that could connect to the other droids and pool their processing power, knowledge and abilities. Essentially it allowed each droid of this type to connect to each other and learn from stimuli that another droid is being exposed to... This upgrade also allowed for the droids in combat to be enhanced by the power of the droids that weren't. We didn't know how effective this would be in real life, but theoretically, each droid would soon become experts in firearms, weaponry and a multitude of other tasks.
Mobility was another concern of the model and had us both stumped for a while since we wanted to keep the design and shape but also wished it to be more effective. In the end we hedged our bets and simply created an auto-balancing sensor to their droid brains that would allow them to always stay balanced and simply changed a few aspects of the limb-servos. We got a 22% increase in performance from these changes alone.
We exchanged the communications components out for those of the scout-variant, increasing the connection range between droids by 200%, an important feature for the AI connection. Including a strong anti-jamming protocol and module, the droids would never be cut off by Marvel-level technology; as it stands currently. The power systems were switched out materially into a Titanium-Gold alloy superconductors and circuits which were all fed by a singular arc reactor that was safely housed in the middle of the chest. This was superior to the basic batteries that had served as their power-source beforehand... Now they wouldn't need charging stations and could operate for as long as required.
The final change we made was to make each limb easily detachable for R-2 units, meaning that each droid could be repaired and replaced if they were damaged in battle or required maintenance. Only aesthetic changes were made from here and they were mainly just colour choices and patterns... Our American branch of security droids will have have our standard blue-white colour scheme but with the American flag painted on the left side of the chest. Our German branch will have the German flag and, you can follow the logic from there. This was only the case for our security droids though. If we were to make actual military droids they would not have flags at all.
Sighing, I looked over towards the polymer that I would soon place over my secretary droid's chassis. It was as human-like as possible with artificial veins imbedded inside. My plan was to have an artificial heart inside the droid that would pump heavy water around the body and distribute the electricity throughout the droid. It was a unique idea since it would make the electrical distribution purely wireless but it would also help in ensuring that electricity would always be present somewhere in the body despite any damage it could take... It was a double-edged blade, but one that I felt was worth risking, given the implications this kind of technology could have for Space Exploration.
My goal was to prove it could work and then design a computer that uses water as a way to power it, with only an initial electric reaction to start the chemical process. Shaking my head I quickly got to it, copying the atomic structure of the polymer-material and the veins inside it. Moments later the first layer of 'skin' was layered over the skeletal structure of the droid, a base layer that would act as the subcutaneous layer. Several minutes of continuous creation followed as I moved from the skull down to the very tips of the toes.
With that layer of skin finished, after five minutes of extreme concentration, I began working on the dermis layer which would consist of the veins, transmitters for the sensors inside the brains and a strong layer of mithril that would mimic the colour of the skin; which was white. This took a touch longer than the previous layer of skin, as I scanned through my work to ensure all the sensors were in place and that i hadn't made any mistakes. After ten minutes I finally started forging the outer most layer of 'skin', the Epidermis. This layer was the most skin-like I could get it, using the polymer Apollo had provided. I ensured that the outer layer was as soft as could be expected. The 'skin' itself mimicked my own skin-tone whilst also being far more perfect than I could get my own skin; without delving into biology.
After half an hour I had finally finished her exterior appearance. Her eyes, yet again, mimicked a humans' but were bright gold and orange, the differing strata that were usually present in human eyes replaced with miniscule optic fibres that fed visual information directly to her brains. Her face was soft and luscious, her nose imperious but feminine, her lips plump but natural-looking... All that was left to create was her hair, which would be made of small strands of obsidian that I would lock into a similar state of being to that of actual hair. I was hoping it would refract light in unique ways and make her look badass.
Creating each strand of hair and deciding length was the most time consuming aspect of this process but it was worth it in the end as she had shoulder-length black hair that loosely dangled over her cheeks and down around her head. The rest of her body was fully functional and designed based off of actual information on human women. Her internals were just as accurate, though they used synthetic replacements for a lot of the processes. She could technically eat and drink, she could process emotions and had what Apollo called 'a very active libido'... Hell, Apollo had even requested I use some of the knowledge from the R-2 unit to create a fully functioning genetic bank for future 'purposes'. Seeing as how she would be sentient, much like Apollo, I didn't shy away from giving her these functions as they would allow her to explore whatever she wanted.
I grimaced at the idea of having another Apollo around to cajole me about my lack of a sex-life. Rubbing my eyes I finished by creating some basic clothes for her that quickly appeared above her skin and I began start-up procedures, which once completed could never be called again unless she herself decided to stop it.
"I think i'll name you Discordia." I clicked a single button on the computer nearby and watched as the skin over her chest shone a deep cerulean blue, the arc reactors sparking to life.
Her veins soon glowed as well, their colour a slightly dulled but still bright blue. Golden eyes that had been open all this time without movement, fluttered. Lips that had never smacked together or met finally did so. She moved slowly at first, her limbs slightly flinching back and forth as the metallic musculature that sat atop the skeleton of her body flexed back and forth like curling cables.
The right hand flexed upwards and then towards her face before resting on her stomach. The left hand soon followed the other, finding itself sliding lower before with a small gasp she pulled it up to her chest. A blue blush touched her cheeks as the glowing water concentrated their for a few moments, a curious effect seeing that I didn't program her that way or design for that to happen... Anyway, she was fully conscious.
"Hello, Discordia. I'm glad that your feeling well enough to blush." I tried to hide my excitement at the fact that I had finally done something really cool with my powers, it probably failed as she smiled at me.
"Creator... This is, overwhelming..." Stepping forwards after she spoke in exasperation I helped her down off of the scaffolding she was imbedded in.
"It will be for a while I think. You are processing around 1-billion bits of visual information per second. For humans this would usually mean a slowing down of time but for you it is because you can see in Infrared, Ultrasonic, Ultraviolet, X-ray, Gamma Rays and Radio waves. Your sense of touch is also contributing as it is sending you tactile information on everything you touch including composition, toughness, rigidity, flexibility and so much more." She seemed to take this all in stride as she started looking around the massive laboratory floor.
"The other, where is he?" Blinking a few times I finally registered that she was speaking about Apollo.
"Apollo will be here shortly, he's busy dealing with some business currently." Nodding in acceptance she started running her hands along the countertops and the various tools around her, the room being littered with them haphazardly.
"What is my purpose and designation?" I smirked at the overly formal wording she was using.
"Your job, so to speak, is to manage my affairs and run my company whilst I invent and scout out new technologies. Your name, is Discordia. I named you after the Roman Goddess of Strife, Contention and Disagreement... Mainly because it is a pretty name, also because Discordia can be associated with friendliness and kinship through the Greek interpretation of the name." Her eyes were alight in excitement as she realised her name was that of a god, like Apollo's.
"How will I learn my 'job', creator?" I sighed at her continued use of creator.
"You can just call me Drecarios, don't worry about this creator stuff. As for how you'll learn your job, well, Apollo will be here soon and he can place all the information you would require in a computer for you to process." Her first smile was from being told she would gain access to information.
"Drecarios, do you wish to procreate?" I blinked at her in shock, my jaw dropping a little.
"W-w-what!? What would make you think to ask that!?" She cocked her head to the side in subtle confusion, as if she were trying to process my response.
"It is the reason you gave me the functionality to have Coitus, enjoy said Coitus and the capability to create life through genetic randomisation, yes?" I could feel the heat creeping up my face as all of my poise collapsed around me. I wasn't really embarrassed by the suggestion but she was barely even cognizant, having only been turned on les than a minute ago and yet she was openly talking about this... It was, it was just wrong!
"I-I gave you the option for the future. You are now on permanently and will live far longer than most humans could ever comprehend. I knew you would outgrow your current lack of knowledge and emotional understanding, becoming truly sentient, I wanted you to have the choice in future to settle down and have children..." She blinked a few times and then smiled again.
"Okay, we can procreate later then." I facepalmed right there and then, a groan spreading through my body and up through my throat. My frustration was only worsened when Apollo suddenly emerged off to the side.
"SO! Have you had sex yet???" Apollo chimed out his question happily.
"NO, YOU FUCKING PERVERT!"
