Chapter 75 - Exploring Abilities and creating Stargates!

Chrysler Building, New York City

My abilities are mostly unexplored. Let me explain before you complain to me about all of the crazy shit I've done...

I have Technopathy, the ability to mentally connect with technology, copy information directly into my mind, manipulate technology and communicate with advanced programs; such as AI.

Next I have Xenoglossy which essentially turns me into a polyglot without equal. My ability to read dead languages, magical scripts and all sorts of other esoteric bull crap was beyond measure. I didn't need to learn languages because my words are instantly translated into the desired language... I only had an original language because I had a life before this one; It's English by the way.

Psychometry boosted these previous abilities passively by allowing me to literally get impressions or feelings for anything I touch. Every single interface I interacted with blead passwords and previous entries into my mind... With my Eidetic memory I was practically a database of secrets if I got anywhere near tech.

Finally was, arguably, my most powerful ability... Matter Manipulation/Matter Creation. Psychometry would feed me images of how objects used to be and I could instantly revert something back to that state. Xenoglossy allowed me to process the meaning of different electron orbits, the energy levels of a Nucleus and even the energy cost that was needed to create new protons, neutrons, electrons, etc... Technopathy didn't have too much of an effect on the fundamentals of my matter abilities, but it did allow me to copy information that I could then use Xenoglossy to parse and then create with said abilities...

Still, I wasn't using the full extent of my abilities. That wasn't even mentioning my ability to create lightning with one of my rewards, which I could have achieved with my matter abilities anyway; a redundant reward now that I have time to stop and consider things. Now I had magic on top of it all, which I was just lumping in with the Force currently.

Why am I saying all of this? Well, I realised after working on the stargate for more than two hours that if I continued on this path of ignoring my potential that I'd probably die in a mission at some stage.

Shaking my head I looked at the large blue-grey Stargate that set into the middle of the wall. I had been toying with the programming language inside the Stargate's operating system for a while now and was making minor progress in allowing for trans-universal travel.

The Stargate itself worked by siphoning energy into an artificial spatial bubble of exotic matter that pulled upon the same dimensional threads that natural wormholes exist within. The Stargate then essentially primes coordinates into the energy on a microscopic scale which directs the newly forming wormhole towards another existing Stargate.

Much like radio receivers, Stargate were always available to be contacted but could exist on separate networks. Thus, as long as the two Stargates are capable of interacting with that unique dimensional layer and could detect a signal from one another, they could create wormholes to one another... This meant that I could technically create two Stargates on the same 'channel' and simply put them where I want them...

The only problem was that if a Stargate couldn't perceive another gate on its channel, it wouldn't even begin the dialling process. Then there was the question of structural integrity. Even if I could establish a lock, there was no guarantee the wormhole could remain stable while spanning two separate universes. I didn't even know how "far apart" those universes were, or if the concept of distance even applied between them.

Which was what led me to thinking about just how much I still had left to learn about my Matter Manipulation. That, in turn, was why I was currently studying the Rakatan portal system, searching for scientific principles that might help me overcome the problem.

The Rakatan were very interesting to read about. They were one of the Star War's universe's oldest species and empires. All of their technology was sought by scavengers, archaeologists, Sith, Jedi, everyone essentially... It wasn't hard to understand why as I read over the scientific examinations and documents that framed the particular ability of their waystations to connect to other Galaxies; supposedly.

Flicking to the next page I was rapidly scanning the page for my goal. It was halfway down that I found an interesting segment that explained a process that was experimented with but abandoned due to the instable nature of the molecular lattice after the process started.

Reading more I found that idea was essentially to bond two objects, in this case the waystations, through a higher dimensional space through an exotic reaction to Iridium and Tibanna Gas. The bonded objects had been observed by scientists in the Republic to have an instant mode of communication and were oddly attracted to one another, allowing for Super-conductive energy transmissions over wildly large distances. The scientists took each half of the bonded objects to the exact opposite side of the galaxy and discovered they were still transmitting energy across that expanse, with no drop in efficiency.

Unfortunately for those scientists the Jedi stepped into their work and shut it down with the help of the Chancellor at the time. There were some basic explanations at the bottom of the paper but I ignored them, instead opting to read over the complex equations and chemical formulas that described the process they used.

Over the next ten minutes I could feel a grin slipping onto my face as I comprehended exactly what this reaction meant for my project... The bonding wasn't just between energy states or communication capabilities, it was on a distance level as well... The two objects would act as if they were in the same room despite distance; if the paper was correct. This solved all of my issues... Even the structural integrity of the wormhole.

The science was essentially saying I could physically shrink the distance that the wormhole needed to form by simply having the Stargates operate on a higher dimensional plane that makes distance effectively equal to zero. Structural integrity of the wormhole was now insignificant as an issue due to the level of integrity that the Ancients had imbued into their Stargates already.

I stood and immediately started replicating the bonding experiment, starting first with two marbles. The process was complex and involved concise energy fluctuations inside the objects' molecular lattice that mimicked the spatial frequency of a wormhole as it was in transit. My first attempt failed and the marbles sizzled into carbon. The next wasn't any better, the material shedding its protons and neutrons in a burst of radiation; that I immediately consumed with my power to create the next set of marbles.

Again and again the experiments failed, the iridium and tibanna gas inside the marbles chemically reacting in such a way that the radiation caused by their collision broke down the lattices of other molecules around them.

Narrowing my eyes I started experimenting with different metals and substances to see if they could handle the prolonged chemical reaction that facilitated the bonding process.

Iron had already failed, so I used steel.

Steel failed so I used Titanium. It took longer for the nuclei of lattices to carbonize.

Titanium changed into Durasteel and that too failed but held its general shape.

Eventually, after half a dozen tests I finally found out that Mithril and Phrik could withstand the reaction and allowed me to start tuning the material as a whole to the frequency. Said tuning was actually very simple as the two marbles started exchanging electrons despite being several metres from one another.

An evil grin curled onto my face as I watched the process continue on without any complications. I had found the way to create universal Stargates! Laughter bubbled out of me as I considered the sheer absurdity of what I had just accomplished. Now we wouldn't need to rely on the chat room and its weird principles and unknown goals to meet one another.

"Apollo!" My shout echoed through the room and shook the bonded marbles a little on an atomic level.

A flash of bright yellow light sparked into the room. "Yep boss?" He looked between me and the marbles, his holographic eyes showing confusion.

"I just solved our little universal travel issue."

"Um, does it have something to do with the two marbles on the table in front of you...?"

I nodded and glanced at him, my grin widening.

"Have you read up on the Rakatan tech yet Apollo?"

He shook his head, "Nah, I've been focussing on the droid technology seeing as how they're our work force and allow us to dominate several industries. Why?"

I cackled before answering him.

"I just read through a paper that explained a process Republic scientists discovered that allows for two object to be bonded in such a way that they can exchange electrons over monumental distances, transmissions too... And from what I was able to parse, this is how the Rakatan created wormhole devices that could transport them to other galaxies."

Apollo took a moment or two to understand what I was alluding to before his eyes shot wide and stared at me in shock.

"You mean, really!? We don't even need more energy to power it or anything!?!"

Copying a certain rodent principle I started maniacally laughing at the extent of what I had just given us access to.

"NOPE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

...

The bonding was permanent from what I could tell and was still present 24 hours later.

After an entire day of observation I decided to bite the bullet and just create this bond between two Stargates, using mithril as the base material for everything that wasn't Naquadah. I shielded the Naquadah inside Phrik and Mithril alloy that isolated it from the bonding process but still allowed it to serve its function within the objects.

Of course this entire creation process was powered by several fusion reactors scavenged from outdated droids that Apollo had begun replacing. There was essentially a socket that was freely draining energy into the atmosphere, which i was then capable of pulling from and creating the matter I needed.

My new design was scaled up considerably from normal Stargates since I wanted the capability for larger vehicles and loads to be brought through at will. The new Stargates were also a bright silver-white that had a sunlight-like glow emanating a few centimetres above the material. The Chevrons were a ice-blue that mimicked ice, a small little reference to my family; Being a Frost and all...

With Apollo's help I was able to finish my work within six hours, both of us going over the internal schematics, designs and craftsmanship before we even started the bonding process. Eventually we both signed off on it though and I started the process of bonding the major systems of the two near-identical Stargates together and most importantly the superstructure that allowed for energy to be siphoned into the exotic matter that would be needed to form the Wormhole bridge.

One by one I ticked off the list of systems and personally observed each reaction before the bond set in and I altered the frequency to mimic an active wormhole's. The great thing about this change would be the fact that I wouldn't need to worry about the Stargate searching an extensive list of Star Coordinates just to create a connection, now it would be direct between the bonded stargates. I even had a theory that any bonded gates could connect to one another and all it needed was a corresponding Chevron to indicate which bonded Stargate we wanted to go to. That could wait however.

"Now how are we going to get it there?" Apollo questioned.

I looked towards Apollo and wiggled my eyebrows, something I had learned from Sirius.

"Why, we have the inventory system of the Chat Room and I am an Admin!"

He huffed before waving me off. Meanwhile Discordia stepped into the room just as I grabbed onto one of the newly made Stargates and stored it inside the Chat Room space.

"Master, I have reports to issue to you... They are from the Avengers." I groaned before walking up to her and snatching the documents.

It was a request from Shield, they wanted me to look over some alien artefacts for them. Supposedly they come from the Dark Elves. 'Blackhole grenades?' Blinking, I turned the page and quickly scanned through the information, remembering it all in moments before handing the documents back to her.

"Tell Shield I'll be free in a day and then I'll have some time to look over whatever they want me to. Oh, Apollo, I also want you to take some of the scientific papers from the archives and publish them in my name." Apollo just mock-saluted me before vanishing in a puff of rainbow sparkles... He was getting weirder...

"Discordia, if you could bring in some more biological personnel into the company soon it would be helpful... I want to start training piolets for the spaceships and for our future off-world operations." She simply started writing down what I was saying as I continued.

"Could you also make it a priority to start surveying the moon with our ship sensors. I want us to start a colony up there soon... Maybe I can make my own nation and offer citizenship and stuff? I also want some ships to make passes over Mars, Venus and Saturn. Focus on material identification and anomaly discovery." She nodded and halted her pen when I went silent.

"Is that all Master?" I gave a thumbs up as I stared out of the window at Spider Man swinging through the city.

"Yeah, that should be it for now... Oh! Shit! Yeah, I'll probably be making a sister for Apollo soon enough. She'll be operating the Stargate system I'll be creating." Discordia looked positively ecstatic at the idea of a younger sister to dote upon, immediately having squealed and run off towards the door, her tablet accessing several internet pages that talked about how siblings bonded.

Shaking my head at her enthusiasm I opened the chat interface and watched as a backlog of messages from Sirius streamed past my eyes. I ignored them, of course. Tapping a button the screen next to the Dog's name I teleported across universes into the Jedi archive, where several Jedi Masters were haranguing Sirius over Harry and I's disappearance.

'Shit!'

Drecarios Frost- Go home Sirius, I'm back with a Stargate. I'll see you there once I'm done. I may not be able to stay too long but I should be able to meet up with everyone for a while.

Sirius Black- About bloody time! I'm off, see you there Elsa! ☃️☃️☃️

In an instant Sirius blinked out of existence and the Jedi jumped back in shock. Using that distraction I channelled the force to cloak myself, removing my scent, the sounds I generated and my myself visually. My presence in the force lowered until it resembled a fly's.

There was one thing I needed to do here and then I could take a ship and fuck off to an isolated world where I could place my Stargate...

Let's see if you chose to accept my offer Barriss...
