Naruto stared at the glowing display in front of him, arms crossed. Not bad. He'd officially reached chūnin-level by raw numbers. Sure, compared to Kakashi at twelve, he was nothing special—but that guy had survived a war. Kids back then didn't get "D-rank missions." They got trauma.
Kakashi, Obito, even Rin… that generation had grown up dodging kunai instead of pulling weeds. Naruto smirked. "Guess I've got it easy after all."
Still, his stats weren't what made him grin. It was the potential. Those so-called "Divine Attributes" — they could grow fast, and Rikudō Shingon seemed to enjoy feeding him opportunities.
After wrapping up Team 7's C-rank mission, Naruto decided to skip the training grounds for once.Instead, he locked onto a mark — Hinata's chakra beacon from his Flying Thunder God tag — and vanished in a burst of golden light.
A sharp bark echoed across the clearing.Inuzuka Kiba nearly dropped his tools when Naruto materialized out of thin air. "Oi! Naruto? Don't you guys have missions too?"
Naruto grinned. "Ours is already done." He looked past Kiba toward Hinata, who was kneeling with a small trowel, her hands dirt-streaked but graceful as always. "Figured I'd come check on my favorite teammate."
Kiba blinked. "Done? You finished a D-rank mission before lunch?"Even Shino's goggles tilted up slightly in disbelief. Their own task—clearing a field—would've taken all day under normal circumstances.
"Yup," Naruto said casually, stretching his arms. "Shadow clones are useful when you've got chakra for days."
The silence that followed was almost comical. Kiba's jaw twitched. Shino's insects buzzed nervously. Even their teacher, Kurenai, raised an eyebrow.
"Impossible," Kiba muttered, his pride wounded.
Naruto just chuckled. "Anyway, I'm here for Hinata. Mind if I borrow her for a bit?"
"Like I have a choice," Kiba grumbled.
Naruto formed a single seal. A puff of smoke later, a shadow clone stood beside him, giving him a lazy salute.
"Cover her share," Naruto said.
The clone rolled its eyes. "You're exploiting me again."
"Yeah, yeah. You're me. Don't complain."
Before Kiba could respond, Naruto took Hinata's hand."Come on, Hinata. You've done enough weeding for one lifetime."
"N-Naruto-kun, w-wait—my team—" Hinata's voice shrank to a whisper, her face blooming red. She glanced at Kurenai-sensei, who stood at the edge of the field, arms crossed.
"It's fine," Naruto said softly. "Didn't I just replace you with myself? Besides, weeds hurt your hands. You deserve a break."
Hinata's protests were swallowed by a flash of gold. And then—they were gone.
The clearing went silent again.
Kiba stared at the spot they'd vanished. "That jerk…!"
Shino didn't even look up. "Efficient."
Kurenai exhaled through her nose, the faintest smile tugging at her lips. "Naruto Uzumaki… and that teleportation jutsu of his… I swear, that boy's going to give me gray hair."
The grass rustled. The mission resumed. And far away, two golden streaks faded into the Konoha skyline.
