Speaking of which, Laxus Dreyar—the grandson of Makarov, master of the Fairy Tail Guild—had once appeared as an antagonist. A Super S-Class wizard with extraordinary strength, he was inlaid with a Thunder Dragon Lacrima, making him a Second Generation Dragon Slayer and granting him Thunder Dragon Slayer Magic.
Because of that, Laxus wielded a vast array of lightning-based spells.
It's worth mentioning that during the Fairy Tail Civil War, he used one of the guild's three great super magics—Fairy Law.
That spell conquers darkness with divine light, targeting everyone the caster deems an enemy and delivering judgment directly to their hearts. (It's said that as long as the target has consciousness, it could wipe out the entire world.)
Yet, no one in Fairy Tail was harmed—proof that deep down, Laxus never considered his guildmates villains. What a classic tsundere.
In short, aside from Dragon Slayer magic, Thunderstorm Rage ranked among the strongest lightning spells Laxus ever mastered. Of course, like Holy Magic or the Three Great Fairy Spells, it was a taboo-level art that transcended normal magic.
After carefully reviewing the magics gained from the A-rank lottery, Lock glanced at the corner of his system screen.
His Fame Points had jumped from 1,000 to 2,000.
Defeating the Flamingo had boosted his reputation significantly.
If he'd agreed to that reporter's interview, the number would've skyrocketed even higher.
"Two thousand Fame Points… Let's see what kind of magic I can exchange for that."
With that thought, Lock summoned the system and opened the Exchange Shop.
The catalog was dazzling.
Super Magic, Forbidden Magic, Lost Magic—every kind made Lock's heart race.
But the required Fame Points for each made him go pale.
Absolute Freeze (Silver Fullbuster's Ice Magic): 50,000 Points.
Fairy Law, Fairy Glitter, Fairy Sphere: 100,000 each.
Acnologia's Dragon Slayer Magic: 500,000 Points.
Even Lost Magics like those used by Meredy or Azuma required a minimum of 10,000.
"Nothing below ten thousand?" Lock muttered, scrolling rapidly.
After skimming through Super and Forbidden Magics, he reached the Lost Magic section—and froze.
"Wait… Fire Dragon Slayer Magic for only three thousand Fame Points? The same for other Dragon Slayer Magics too?!"
He nearly thought his eyes were tricking him.
He had 2,000 now—just 1,000 more, and he could get his hands on Dragon Slayer Magic.
"System, what's going on here?"
The familiar, emotionless voice replied in his mind:
"Host, magics exchanged with Fame Points do not include the caster's experience or mastery. The 3,000-point Dragon Slayer Magic is only a basic template. The Host must redeem additional upgrades for Dragon Slayer Techniques and Modes."
"I see…"
Taking Natsu's Fire Dragon Slayer Magic as an example, it included special moves like the Crimson Lotus Exploding Blade and Crimson Lotus Phoenix Sword—plus transformation states like Lightning Flame Dragon Mode or Fire Dragon King Mode.
All of that would cost extra Fame Points.
So if Lock were exchanged for Fire Dragon Slayer Magic now, he'd only reach the level of a child Natsu just learning it.
Still, the realization made sense.
After all, the lottery draws not only magic, but the experience of the mages who wielded it.
How to cast efficiently, conserve energy, and adapt under pressure—these memories provided priceless insight.
Lock nodded to himself. "Alright. Once I rack up enough Fame Points, I'll get Dragon Slayer Magic."
Having made up his mind, Lock exited the system space and returned to the real world.
The sky outside was a deep, crystalline blue, like it had just been washed clean.
Cotton-white clouds drifted lazily, and a light breeze made the scene almost too peaceful.
Then, his phone rang.
He picked it up and saw the caller ID—Aunt Ryuko.
Lock blinked. That name… right, Ryuko Tatsuma—his mother's cousin, and a Pro Hero better known as Dragoon Hero: Ryukyu.
He hesitated a moment before answering.
"Hello? Aunt Ryuko?"
A warm, mature voice came through the line. "Lock? It's been a while, hasn't it?"
"…Yeah. What's up, Aunt Ryuko?"
A soft, slightly embarrassed laugh followed. "I'm sorry for not reaching out sooner. I saw the news report about what happened and… I wanted to check in on you."
Lock remained silent. He didn't hate her—but neither did he want to reconnect with anyone tied to this body's past.
"Listen," Ryuko continued gently, "come over for dinner tonight, alright?"
Lock instinctively wanted to refuse. "That's not really necessary—"
"Are you mad at me?" she interrupted, her tone playful but a bit sad.
"That's not it…" Lock sighed, feeling conflicted.
"Then it's settled," Ryuko said firmly. "You're coming over. And Nejire's here too!"
"Nejire?" Lock froze.
Nejire Amajiki—U.A. High's Big Three.
At this point in the timeline, Nejire would still be a first-year student—before she gained famous title.
Still, that meant Ryuko was already mentoring him.
Before he could argue, Ryuko added cheerfully, "If you don't come, I'll come drag you here myself. Got it?"
And with that, she hung up.
Lock groaned. "Great…"
It seemed he didn't have a choice.
He hadn't seen Ryuko since his parents' funeral—the original owner of this body had shut her out completely afterward. She'd tried to take him in, but he refused all her calls, choosing instead to isolate himself… until the day he took his own life.
That was when Lock—reincarnated from another world—awoke in this body.
And the "Nejire" Ryuko mentioned was none other than Nejire Hadoo, whom this body's previous owner once admired deeply.
