The alliance, with the Gold and Silver Brothers as its leaders, was named the Black Alliance.

Elder Qin Xuan frowned. "Only two days have passed, and they've already organized? They must be certain we'll retaliate. What's their current situation?"
Hu Qian tapped the table lightly and explained, "The news of the Black Alliance's formation spread yesterday from Feng City. The Gold and Silver Brothers, as Alliance Leaders, are stationed there, while the other sect leaders have all returned to guard their own sects.
Though the alliance is loosely bound and full of suspicion, they still share a common interest — if we attack one sect, the others will immediately come to its aid. Yet if we spread our forces to surround them all, our strength won't be enough to wipe them out."
When Feng City was mentioned, several Inner Academy Elders glanced toward Liu Xi with meaningful smiles. After Han Feng's death, even his former territory had been taken over by others — the so-called "Medicine Emperor" had fallen into utter ruin.
Liu Xi spoke calmly, "People of the Black-Corner Region act for profit above all else. Now that Han Feng is dead, we can spread word that anyone who joins us in subjugating the Black Alliance will be promised a pill refinement from me. That should draw quite a few."
Hu Qian sighed. "Under normal circumstances, your offer would make those vultures come running like dogs smelling meat. But with a battle of this scale, the smarter ones will sit back and watch, afraid that we'll turn around and destroy them afterward."
As the one who dealt with the Black-Corner Region most often, Hu Qian knew those people too well — greedy, but not stupid.
"This time, when they followed Han Feng to attack the Inner Academy, they stood to gain benefits and protection under his name. Han Feng needed their strength, so he wouldn't turn on them. But if they helped us now and we later denied them, who would stand up for them? They'd just die like fools."

"That might work," one Elder said, "but who would take that risk? Those sects are heavily guarded — sneaking in unseen is near impossible. And if discovered, once they activate their protection formations, even escaping would be difficult."
"I'll go," Liu Xi said with a calm smile.
Immediately, Hu Qian, Qin Xuan, and the other Elders objected in unison. "Absolutely not!"
He was their only 6th Tier Alchemist — far too valuable to risk as an assassin.
"Don't worry," Liu Xi said lightly, sitting up straight. "I'm confident. Even if something goes wrong, I can retreat safely."
'With my current strength, only the Gold and Silver Brothers pose a real threat. As for the rest… heh. I, Liu Xi, will slaughter them all.'
Zi Yan, who had been quietly chewing on a pill, suddenly looked up and said stubbornly, "Big Brother, I'm going with you this time. You're not leaving me behind again!"
"Of course," Liu Xi smiled. "I was planning to rely on your strength anyway."
Every Elder present knew Zi Yan wasn't an ordinary girl. Even the Inner Academy's energy shield around the medicinal vault couldn't stop her. With her spatial tearing ability, she could come and go freely as long as she wasn't pinned down.
Hu Qian asked, "Then which sect do we target first?"
"The Blood Sect," Liu Xi replied casually. "I have a Heavenly Flame — it restrains Fan Lao."
Qin Xuan finally nodded. "Very well. But if you're discovered, withdraw immediately. We'll intercept any reinforcements outside the Blood Sect. The Grand Elder can't stay away from the academy too long — he'll only intervene if the Gold and Silver Brothers appear."

Inside a vast, blood-colored grand hall, Fan Lao sat on the main throne, his expression cold and sinister.
Before him stood a young man who bore a striking resemblance to him — his son, Fan Ling. The youth's eyes shone with excitement as he said, "Father, in the past few days, we've used the Black Alliance's name to recruit many strong fighters. We even have several Dou Ling-level experts now. At this rate, the Blood Sect will soon rise to greatness!"
"Rubbish! The sect is on the brink of destruction, and you talk about rising?" Fan Lao snapped angrily.
"F-Father?" Fan Ling froze in confusion.
After a pause, Fan Lao sighed and explained, "Han Feng has vanished — most likely dead in Jia Nan Academy. Without him shielding us, the academy's retaliation will fall on our heads. Damn those Gold and Silver Brothers — they took half of the Blood Sect's resources before agreeing to form the Black Alliance and 'protect' us. If things don't change soon, this alliance will crumble before long."
Fan Ling's face turned pale. "Then what do we do, Father?"
Fan Lao's gaze softened slightly. "We'll rely on the Blood Fiend Formation to hold out for a while. If the Blood Pool runs dry and no opportunity arises, we'll take what remains of our wealth and leave the Black-Corner Region. With the Blood Sect's cultivation methods, rebuilding our strength elsewhere won't be difficult."
