Everyone pondered for a while, mulling over Liu Xi's plan. After repeated consideration, they unanimously agreed it was indeed the simplest and most effective method.
Zi Yan's lips curved into a bright smile. Following her Big Brother always seemed to bring the best results — minimizing risk while maximizing benefit. "Big Brother," she asked, "then what should we do? Who should we let gather the Ancient Jade?"
Liu Xi's smile deepened, his eyes gleaming with layered intent. His gaze swept across the three dragon commanders as he replied, "One word — wait.
All three of you are high-level Dou Saints, and with the entire Beast Region backing us, no one can afford to ignore our presence. It won't be long before they come knocking at our door. When that time arrives, all we'll have to do is go along with the flow — and we'll easily reap the greatest reward."
The right time would soon come — when the Void Devouring Flame made its move. That Heavenly Flame has the power of a 9-Star Dou Saint, unstoppable save for Gu Yuan himself.
Add Hun Tiandi to that, and it would mean two 9-Star Dou Saints standing together. Even with all their strength, the four allied clans would be unable to hold such a lineup at bay.
According to the timeline Liu Xi remembered, the "Yao Clan Medicinal Ceremony" would coincide with the Hun Clan's next hunt — the time when the Void Devouring Flame finished refining the Shi Clan's bloodline. Now, the date for that gathering was mere months away. Whether the Yao Clan Medicinal Ceremony still took place or not, the Hun Clan's next hunt was inevitable.
With Hun Tiandi holding off Gu Yuan, no matter if it was the Yao Clan or any other, none would be able to withstand the Void Devouring Flame's onslaught.
"Then we'll do as you say," Zhu Bei said with a faint smile. "When the time comes, we'll follow your judgment, Master Liu."
Zhu Yu and Zhu Fei both nodded in agreement.
Liu Xi clasped his hands respectfully, his tone solemn. "When that time comes, I'll be relying on you three. In the end, everything depends on strength."
"We'll give our all — even if it costs us our lives!" The three dragon commanders answered in unison, faces grave and determined.
Once they left, Liu Xi finally exhaled, relaxing slightly before turning to Zi Yan, Xiao Yixian, and Qing Lin. He spread his arms wide and grinned. "I'm back."
The three women's eyes shimmered with joy. Liu Xi had been in seclusion for more than a year, and though they had waited all that time, they merely exchanged glances and stayed where they were — none of them moved.
Liu Xi awkwardly dropped his arms, his face full of mock regret. "I was hoping for a warm reunion — maybe a hug or two after being gone for so long…"
Zi Yan chuckled softly, her curvaceous figure swaying as she descended from the steps. "Big Brother, we missed you so much," she teased. "Did you miss us?"
"Of course I did," Liu Xi said at once, his tone gentle and firm.
Xiao Yixian's bright eyes sparkled mischievously. "Then tell us — who did you miss the most?"
Beside her, Qing Lin covered her mouth with a laugh, her gaze filled with quiet expectation.
It was a death trap of a question. Liu Xi froze as the three of them approached, step by step, their affectionate eyes full of waiting.
The pressure was immense.
"Well… haha…" Liu Xi scratched the back of his head with a goofy grin, trying to laugh it off. "I missed… all of you, of course!"
"Che!"
"Hmph!"
"Hmm!"
Three simultaneous eye-rolls — and behind them, faint glimmers of jealousy hidden deep in each girl's gaze. Liu Xi could only smile bitterly in defeat.
Thankfully, Xiao Yixian stepped in to ease the tension. "We prepared a gift for you, Young Master. Zi Yan, bring it out."
Zi Yan gave a soft "mm," raised her delicate hand, and formed a quick seal. Waves of spatial energy rippled through the hall, and then — space split open in two.
Liu Xi's eyes widened. The moment he felt the aura within, his soul trembled in excitement — this was something he had longed for, something his being instinctively yearned to devour.
Two flames emerged.
One was black and white, the opposing colors swirling together like the fusion of life and death, emanating both the breath of vitality and the chill of decay — strange yet profound, holding a trace of the world's ultimate truth.
Ranked 21st on the Heavenly Flame List — Yin-Yang Twin Flame.
The second flame was earthen-yellow, coiling like a dragon. Its roar carried the sound of rushing wind, the essence of flame and storm perfectly intertwined.
Ranked 18th on the Heavenly Flame List — Wind and Thunder Fury Flame.
Seeing Liu Xi stunned speechless, Xiao Yixian smiled faintly and explained, "That Yin-Yang Twin Flame came from one of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe's oldest elders. When he returned from the depths of the void, he brought it with him. Since Young Master has always sought rare Heavenly Flames, we made a trade on your behalf."
Then she gestured toward the second flame. "As for that one — it was brought back by Elder Yao. He's been wandering the Central Plains for years, even venturing beyond its borders. He discovered this Wind and Thunder Fury Flame in a distant desert outside the continent."
"He's been looking for us for some time, but our whereabouts kept changing. Only after the Central Plains war broke out did he finally find us here in the Beast Region."
Zi Yan added softly, "When he arrived, Elder Yao had already reached the 9-Star Dou Zun realm. I appointed him as a clan elder and provided abundant resources — we've treated him very well."
Liu Xi's heart warmed as he looked from the two flames back to them. "You truly are my lucky stars," he said, his voice filled with joy. "And Elder Yao too… Zi Yan, prepare some medicinal ingredients for me. I'll refine a Bodhisattva Pill and other elixirs for him — I owe him this much."
Zi Yan nodded happily. The Ancient Void Dragon Tribe was never short on heavenly materials or earthly treasures — providing a few herbs was nothing.
The two Heavenly Flames were bound by intricate violet-gold chains, sealing away their violent power and concealing their presence — that was why Liu Xi hadn't sensed them immediately.
He raised his hand, slender fingers flexing. Strands of cyan flame emerged, surrounded by a faint milky-white halo.
The hall's temperature soared instantly. Even space itself rippled in distortion as the cyan flame fell upon the golden chains — shattering them with a single touch.
The Wind and Thunder Fury Flame and Yin-Yang Twin Flame trembled before the cyan fire, their arrogance gone. These were Heavenly Flames — yet now they shivered like frightened beasts before their king.
In the next instant, the cyan flame enveloped them and drew them back into Liu Xi's body. The spiritual essence they contained wasn't enough to push him to the next realm, but it would further strengthen his foundation and deepen his reserves.
After a brief moment, Liu Xi exhaled softly, satisfaction spreading across his face.
To him, it was merely a snack — the true feast would only come once he devoured the Void Devouring Flame itself.
A faint azure lotus bloomed within his pupils before vanishing, carrying within it the profound essence of heaven and earth.
On the Dou Qi Continent, all elemental truths manifested as flame — the origin of all energy, the reason why so many Heavenly Flames existed while there were no "Heavenly Waters" or "Heavenly Winds."
Having absorbed the Wind and Thunder Fury Flame and the Yin-Yang Twin Flame, Liu Xi's expression softened into a warm smile. He looked at the three women — Xiao Yixian, Zi Yan, and Qing Lin — who now stood before him, and opened his arms once more. "I'm back."
This time, they didn't hold back.
"Mm!"
All three leapt into his embrace at once — and Liu Xi finally got what he wanted: one in each arm, the perfect reunion.
