The General's Gravity Projection ability, within its Mana Zone, overflowed with an unusual black mana in a circular area with a 25-meter radius around its sword, causing the air to subtly tremble.
Nois, collapsed on the ground, tried to get up, pressing his palms against the earth, pushing upwards with all his might; his bones faintly rattled, "Get up, get up for me!"
Fiery red mana, like flowing clouds, ascended within the gravity zone that was overflowing with black mana.
He struggled from a prone position to a hunched, trembling stand, looking incredibly strained, as if he could collapse like a straw man at any moment.
Just as he was panting heavily, about to say something, a flash of iridescent white arc light struck, sending Nois crashing to the ground. Bai En clenched his five fingers into a tight fist, and the General plunged deeper into the ground, causing the black light in the gravity zone to surge!
With a 'boom'.
The ground collapsed and caved in, shattered rocks kicking up dust. Nois lay motionless, embedded in the ground.
'What is he doing? Playing the protagonist-surpassing-his-limits-at-this-moment trope with me? What a joke! In the face of absolute power, all struggles are meaningless.'
Bai En's expression was odd. 'Besides, buddy, you're the villain. Aren't you getting your roles mixed up? The one who should be surpassing limits is me.'
Zhan Yan and the General flew back into the magic book. Bai En, holding the little girl, cast his gaze towards the high walls on his side, which marked the other two battlefields.
Unlike his overwhelming victory, Jie Kai and Nancy were caught in a bitter struggle.
Jie Kai's immense strength brought forth a domineering punch, repeatedly scattering the corpse puppets that crawled towards him. Although the corpse puppets controlled by that one-eyed fellow were not strong, even weak, there were simply too many of them, densely packed everywhere.
It was enough to trigger trypophobia!
Jie Kai did not dare to rush out and attack. The stitched-face user of spatial magic was constantly watching him, and spatial orbs emitting a strange aura floated in the air. As soon as he stepped outside a certain range, the spatial orbs would attack through spatial magic, making it impossible to defend against them.
'These guys want to wear me down until my mana runs out! I already used some mana to deal with the two giant Iron-eating Rats. If this continues… it's not good!'
Taking advantage of the ground cracking and the giant Salamander falling backward, Nancy activated her magic again. Countless chains emerged from the soil, each dancing like spreading vines, coiling around the Salamander and binding it in place.
Wielding her greatsword, she ran swiftly across the ground, leaped into the air, and swung her sword towards Sally, who stood on the Salamander.
The wind stirred, and Sally's white robe fluttered. There was no panic in her crimson eyes beneath her glasses. She licked her upper lip, watching Nancy with immense excitement, and her entire body merged into the gel-manifested Salamander.
The gleaming sword light missed its target, striking directly at the orange-yellow stone pillars dangling from the mountaintop, causing the long, columnar rocks to fall one by one.
Nancy, in mid-air, changed her sword-swinging posture. Using the momentary descent, she unleashed more than a dozen consecutive sword lights. The sharp sword lights struck the Salamander, causing purple gel fluid to ooze out, then penetrate its body.
But… the slashes seemed to have no effect!
The sword lights that penetrated the body slowed down increasingly within the gel, eventually becoming a solid-liquid magical polymer, suspended inside the Salamander.
Nancy suddenly realized something: 'This guy's magic is extremely incompatible with mine!'
The Earth Chains that bound the Salamander were counter-corroded after Sally merged into the gel. The purple gel fluid assimilated the chains, eventually becoming part of the Salamander and being pulled free.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—"
The chains whipped out like long whips, dancing with several afterimages in the air, lashing fiercely at Nancy.
Nancy plunged her greatsword into the ground, and the earth rose up, forming a dirt sphere that began to envelop her, attempting to block the incoming chains.
Sally's smile grew wider, "Success!"
What fell from the air were not the dancing chains, but sticky purple gel chunks. The gel covered the dirt sphere, eventually completely enveloping it.
The dirt sphere flowed into the Salamander, becoming part of it, and shattered rocks scattered around the sphere. Nancy tried to resist, but in a nearly solidified, gelatinous space, all her movements seemed like a desperate, powerless struggle.
"Experiment No. 1, capture successful!"
Sally, with her white robe drooping, controlled the Salamander to smash through the piled-up stone wall and walked towards the center.
The crashing collapse of the stone wall naturally caught Jie Kai's attention. Already somewhat overwhelmed amidst the dense corpse puppets, he grew anxious upon seeing the giant Salamander and the trapped Nancy.
"You guys!"
"Strength Magic, Muscularity, Twenty-fold!"
His already bulging muscles swelled, with sinews like coiling dragons. Jie Kai threw a punch, a powerful gust of wind sweeping away a large area of corpse puppets. He rushed towards Sally, attempting to rescue Nancy.
A corpse puppet, wrapped in lightning but without limbs, silently appeared in the air.
As Jie Kai ran, the lightning on the corpse puppet surged, silver bolts hissing like snakes, sweeping out and tearing into Jie Kai through spatial magic.
In an instant, bright, dazzling light and crackling lightning erupted!
"Eh?"
Ladis and Valtos, who had been confident that the battle was over, let out soft murmurs. Jie Kai continued running as if nothing had happened, the silver lightning now further away from him.
When Jie Kai realized he had been ambushed, he turned to look, and saw a long blade plunged into the ground, bathed in lightning, the electric light faintly trembling like tiny silver threads.
Before he could ponder further, the long blade moved again, imbued with domineering lightning, slashing at the giant Salamander. The tentacles wrapping Nancy were directly severed, and the dirt sphere fell.
The lightning dispersed, and the blade hummed.
Bai En arrived at the scene, holding the little girl in one arm and the unconscious Nois in the other.
Facing the individual who had blocked his attack, Ladis flew into a rage. He controlled the stone puppets to rush towards Bai En; several figures moved in unison, kicking up flying sand and dust, as if facing a thousand armies.
Bai En and the little girl stood alone amidst the horde of corpse puppets, as tiny as two specks of dust.
But they seemed utterly fearless.
"Get down," Bai En said softly.
Jie Kai, thinking Bai En was speaking to him, paused for a moment, then immediately dropped to the ground. After striking a pose with his bald head, he occasionally looked up at Bai En, as if asking if this was acceptable.
When Jie Kai looked up again, he found Bai En and the little girl tilting their heads, looking at him with confusion in their eyes.
Before he could ask, a sudden collapsing sound caught his attention. Rows of corpse puppets inexplicably collapsed to the ground, twisting their bodies, trying to move forward but powerless, like maggots wriggling on the ground.
It was as if they had been crushed to the ground by some immense force.
Jie Kai seemed to sense something. He looked up and saw a small sword, appearing to emanate countless black threads, silently suspended in the air—silent, mysterious.
Rocks shattered and fell to the ground. Nancy, covered in purple gel, also regained her mobility after breaking free from the giant gel monster Salamander. Covered in sticky gel, she looked exceptionally disheveled.
Her crimson hair and delicate face were all stained with the jelly-like gel.
Bai En handed the girl to Nancy, "Take care of her. I'll handle this."
As his words fell, Jie Kai also got up from the ground. He lightly stretched his muscles, intending to contribute to the upcoming battle. 'Two against three? Should be no problem.'
"Uncle Jie Kai, I'll take them on alone."
"Huh?" Jie Kai, hearing Bai En's words, showed a bewildered expression. 'What's going on? You want to fight three alone? What a joke, even I can't do that…'
Just as he was about to say something, he heard Bai En again, "You probably don't have much mana left, do you? Even if you want to join, you should wait until you've recovered some mana. Forcing yourself to fight will only cause me trouble."
"This…"
Jie Kai didn't argue, merely waved his hand: "Oh, alright, then you go alone."
'I'll see how you deal with three people by yourself. In the end, won't I still have to step in…?'
As he thought this, Bai En gripped Zhan Yan and charged out. Having lost the burden of looking after the little girl, he felt exceptionally light.
In a situation with a wolf in front and a tiger behind, the choice was simple: first take down the fiercest tiger, then turn to deal with the lone wolf.
Water light flickered, and Bai En carved a path through the corpse puppets, steadily approaching Ladis and Valtos…
