Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Robert Baratheon's POV

The stench of this damned city is unbearable. *Ugh* I need a drink to calm down. The great Targaryen capital, this rotten city, where the great Targaryen conqueror first landed before beginning his great conquest.

*Laughs*

That damned dynasty fell. I myself shattered the chest of that rapist bastard. He kidnapped my beloved Lyanna. I can still feel her blood on my hands, how my hammer destroyed his chest, how his breath died in my arms. And that look, those eyes, his despair—I'll never forget it. I could kill him a thousand times over, and it still wouldn't be enough.

We marched for a couple of days from the Trident to the capital. The news had already reached the camp: the old lion of the west, Tywin Lannister, had taken King's Landing. That old bastard took the capital and, according to Ned's letters, had ordered the killing of all of Rhaegar's descendants along with his wife.

Baby Neds? Seriously? They're nothing but dragon eggs waiting to hatch, to breathe fire in my face and destroy the kingdom again. Those Targaryen abominations deserve nothing but death. Little monsters still hide on my islands; they will not escape my fury.

I will see to it that nothing remains of them. I will ensure that their fall is nothing more than a vile memory. Entering through the gates of the Red Keep, accompanied by my men, I immediately ordered the corridors to be cleaned. I looked at the decorations of those dragons, skulls, from a bygone era, one that will never return. None of those abominations will ever return to my kingdom.

*Cracks*

The grand throne room. I gazed at the Iron Throne in the center, forged by the very fire of the Black Terror, using all the swords of a great victory. It looked like anything but a throne. For a moment, I considered having it destroyed, but even though it had been the throne of those abominations, it had its own unique touch. Besides, now the grand throne of its conqueror was mine.

"What does this mean, Tywin Lannister?" {serious}-(Jon Arryn)

"The old lion of the west, the former Hand of the King, a competent and feared man. When Ned and I explored the Vale, we heard songs dedicated to him and his cruelty: 'The Rains of Castamere,' the famous song that commemorates how House Reyne perished under this cursed old man. Dangerous, but no more."

"I see you prepared this cursed place for your king," {mocking}- Seeing his face frown, my smile only grew wider. What was a lion, anyway? You already behead dragons.

"Of course, although... there are still many matters to discuss... before your... coronation," {serious}-(Tywin)

"Do you think I'm..." {annoyed}-

"Of course!!" It is necessary that the stability of the realm be guaranteed as soon as possible, especially since the loyalties of many houses have not yet been clarified. —Jon Arryn, serious.

—My lord, would you be so kind as to tell us what happened to the Mad King and all of his line? —Jon Arryn, serious.

The old man's face didn't change, and little by little everything became clear. He had sacked the capital from top to bottom, ordered the dragon eggs killed, and his sworn son was the one who ended up murdering his king. *Laughter* Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer, the last member of that bastard's Kingsguard, killed his father.

"Kingslayer, tell me what you felt when you broke your oath. Tell me what it feels like to kill that bastard. Tell me, was it worth it?" {excited}

"Yes... Your grace?" {annoyed} (Jaime Lannister)

"Stand. You will be my new Kingsguard." {mocking}

"Robert, I don't think..." {serious} (Tywin)

I ignored Jon. *laughs* The now infamous Kingslayer as a Kingsguard. Imagine how funny that is. I gave his father a smile, while Jaime knelt, thanking me and reciting an oath that's worthless.

I would make sure this stain was never erased from his house. Screw that damned old man, his heir will now be my new toy. *laughs* With that, I walked to sit on my throne.

Uncomfortable and disgusting, but now it's mine. Finally, I can do as I please. After all, I am now the king. I just need my beautiful queen.

"Prepare everything for my coronation. Everything must be ready for when Ned and my beloved Lyanna return." {serious}

Stanni's POV

With the fall of King's Landing, Ned Stark reached Storm's End, and the Tyrell army was repelled after almost two years of complete siege. Great poems were sung throughout the kingdom, and music and war trophies were displayed.

The dragon banners touched the ground and the crowned stag rose victorious. Battles were named, places once unimportant were named as the sites of great battles, great knights were remembered—some dead, some living in shame, others slain, forgotten, martyrs of this cause.

Robert Baratheon.

The new king and my brother—I never trusted him, I didn't love him, and I know I never will. But now he was king, and though he'll never be my brother, he's my blood. I defended Storm's End for him. Half the kingdom rose up in rebellion for him, and I was one of them, and I always will be.

While he fought, I held out, and I'm glad to know it was worth it. I did everything I could for him. First, we ate the horses. We couldn't ride, not with the castle surrounded. We couldn't eat, so the horses. Then the cats. It was fine because I never liked them.

Then the dogs. Loyal animals, we ate them. Then the rats. My wife almost died until the newly appointed Onion Knight appeared. He saved us, me and my family. The entire Storm's End survived thanks to him. Few will know this, not even Renly. I made sure the little bastard ate the best, even when it wasn't possible.

Because he was my brother, my true brother, I owe him respect and loyalty because he is my older brother and he is the king, but he will never be my brother, not like Renly is, never. I will make sure he becomes a good man, not another Robert. He is ready and admires Robert. It's not something I like very much. I don't want to be separated from him, but it's time to be a gentleman.

-Lord Eddard Stark, I'm glad you were able to deal with the Tyrells-{serious}-(Stannis)

Eddard Stark, now the new Lord of Winterfell after his father and older brother were cruelly killed by the Mad King, the great hero of the North, the second son turned hero and lord, he was everything he aspired to be, not only for what he had, but for what he represented: the most honorable man you could find in the world.

"Lord Stannis is admirable for how he resisted the Tyrells for so long. Worthy of the heir to Storm's End and now to the Iron Throne." (Eddard Stark)

"I appreciate your words, my lord. I hope my brother feels the same." (Stannis)

"Robert... wait in the capital for your two brothers, but first the kingdom must be secured for Robert. Soon Jon Arryn, the new Hand of the King, will arrive, and negotiations with Highgarden will begin." (Eddard Stark)

"Won't you stay?" (Stannis)

"I must continue my journey to find my sister and Robert's betrothed." (Eddard Stark)

"I wish you well. I wish I could resupply you and give you rest, but as you can see, the situation doesn't allow it." (Stannis)

"I understand, my lord. Await Lord Arryn's arrival. This war will soon be over, and all will be finished." (Eddard Stark)
