Chapter 17 - CHAPTER 17

After seven days of tireless work under Ryunosuke's direction, the Uchiha's first civilian project was finally ready.

From scouting a location to decorating the interior, everything was completed with meticulous precision worthy of a clan of shinobi.

Word spread fast across Konoha. Under Ryunosuke's deliberate publicity, the news that the Uchiha Clan was opening a business rippled through every corner of the village like wildfire.

"What? The Uchiha are opening a shop?!"

"No way those guys only know how to glare at people and patrol the streets! Since when did they start doing business?"

"Yeah, with their personalities, they're more suited for the Konoha Police Force, not trade."

"And besides, every profitable line is already taken the Hyūga handle silk and sealing scrolls, the Nara have medicinal herbs, the Akimichi control food distribution, and the Yamanaka own the flower trade."

"Still… the Uchiha aren't stupid. If they're doing this, they must have something up their sleeve."

"I'm curious too. Let's go take a look!"

Drawn by curiosity, a crowd began to gather along Konoha's main commercial street, near the market district not far from Ichiraku Ramen.

And there it was a brand-new sign hanging proudly in front of a freshly painted storefront:

『Sweet Dream Experience Hall』

"'Dream Experience Hall'? What the heck is that?"

"Doesn't sound like they're selling ninja tools or weapons…"

"Could it be some kind of genjutsu performance? Uchiha are famous for illusions, right?"

Speculation buzzed in the crowd as Ryunosuke himself stepped outside to greet them, dressed in formal Uchiha robes.

"Welcome, everyone," he said with a calm smile.

A villager immediately raised his hand. "Excuse me, Elder Uchiha, what exactly does this 'Dream Experience Hall' do?"

Ryunosuke folded his hands behind his back, lowering his voice mysteriously. "Why not come in and see for yourself?"

Driven by curiosity, the villagers entered the shop one after another.

Inside, the air smelled faintly of incense. A row of elegant, cushioned reclining chairs lined the floor, each one carved with chakra-conductive seals. Along the walls stood several young Uchiha shinobi, all wearing gentle expressions and all with the crimson glow of the Sharingan flickering faintly in their eyes.

Ryunosuke turned to the villager who had asked earlier. "Tell us," he said with a small smile, "what's your dream?"

The man blinked in confusion but answered truthfully. "I… I've always wanted to visit the Land of Hot Water. They say its hot springs are famous, and the women there are beautiful and kind. My dream is to go there one day, relax in the springs, and enjoy the scenery."

Ryunosuke nodded approvingly. "Then please, have a seat."

The man hesitated but sat down as instructed. One of the young Uchiha stepped forward, his Sharingan slowly spinning. His tone was calm and soothing. "Take a deep breath. Let go of all tension. Don't think of anything else."

The villager's eyelids grew heavy. His consciousness began to fade as the scarlet tomoe before him revolved hypnotically, pulling him into a deep illusion. Within seconds, he was completely still lost in the genjutsu realm created by the Sharingan.

No one spoke. The room was quiet except for the soft hum of chakra in the air.

After an unknown period of time—tick

The villager suddenly stirred. He blinked rapidly, disoriented, before sitting up. His face was flushed, eyes wide in astonishment.

He looked around the room, confused. "Wait… was that… a dream?"

Ryunosuke smiled knowingly. "Yes," he said. "Tell me what did you see?"

The villager nodded slowly, his expression a mixture of awe and disbelief. "I just dreamed that I went to the Land of Hot Water… I stayed there for several days, relaxed in the hot springs, and even met the innkeeper's daughter.a beautiful woman who treated me so kindly…"

He paused for a moment, eyes distant as if still half in the dream. Then he added, almost whispering,

"Even though it was clearly a dream, it felt unbelievably real… like I'd actually been there in person. I could feel the heat of the water, smell the steam, even hear the cicadas outside the inn. And… I don't know if it's just in my head, but my body actually feels lighter, like I truly soaked in the hot spring."

As he spoke, the crowd around him exchanged amazed looks. The man's expression alone was proof enough.he looked utterly refreshed, as if he'd really taken a vacation.

Ryunosuke smiled and turned toward the spectators. "As you've probably guessed," he said proudly, "our store sells precisely that.dreams!"

A murmur swept through the room.

"In this shop, we use the Uchiha's mastery of genjutsu to weave vivid illusions shaped entirely by a customer's desires. We create custom dreams.beautiful, peaceful, fulfilling ones. In your dream, you can travel where you wish, meet who you miss, or relive the moments you regret. All safely, all vividly, and all as real as life itself."

The crowd was stunned.

"Selling dreams?!"

"What in the world.how do they even come up with ideas like that?!"

"Trust the Uchiha… only they could use their Sharingan for something this crazy!"

Still, curiosity began to outweigh skepticism. One of the villagers stepped forward, his voice trembling slightly. "So… how much would it cost to experience one of these dreams?"

Ryunosuke raised a single finger. "A beautiful, tailor-made dream costs ten thousand taels."

"Hisss!"

The crowd collectively gasped.

"Ten thousand taels!?" someone cried out. "That's a fortune!"

In Konoha, the average villager earned about a hundred thousand taels a month. Ten thousand was nearly one-tenth of a full salary money most people would rather spend on food, clothing, or a special dinner, not on… sleep.

Paying such an amount for a dream sounded absurd.

Ryunosuke could clearly read the doubt on their faces. Smiling faintly, he turned back to the man who had just experienced the illusion. "Tell me," he said, "if you were to travel to the Land of Hot Water for real, how much would it cost?"

The villager hesitated, doing quick math. "Hmm… including the travel expenses, food, and lodging, it would be around five hundred thousand taels at least."

Ryunosuke nodded. "Exactly. And that's assuming you even make it there safely. The roads between the Land of Fire and the Land of Hot Water aren't patrolled regularly. Bandits and missing-nin are common. Unless you hire a shinobi escort.which would easily double the cost you risk losing not just your money, but your life."

The crowd fell silent. Everyone in the ninja world knew it was true: outside the safety of major villages, the world was dangerous. Ordinary people almost never traveled beyond their borders.

"For an unarmed villager," Ryunosuke continued smoothly, "a trip like that isn't just expensive, it's nearly impossible. Many people live and die without ever leaving their homeland."

He stepped forward, his tone now gentle but persuasive. "But here, in our 'Sweet Dream Experience Hall,' you can make that impossible dream come true. You can travel anywhere, meet anyone, and feel everything as if it were real. No fear, no risk only comfort."

He spread his hands wide, the Sharingan in his eyes faintly glimmering under the shop's light.

"For ten thousand taels, you're not just buying a dream you're buying the chance to live it."
