Jasmine's POV.
I took in a deep breath, trying to rip his hands off my neck but his grip tightened. I choked and struggled, shutting my eyes.
"Miss, miss, wake up." Suddenly, I felt someone tapping me and my neck felt free as I flicked my eyelids open to see Jane staring down at me with concern.
"Bless the moon goddess, you are awake!" She exclaimed and for a while, I felt lost.
Wasn't Damon here? Didn't he figure out my identity and try to kill me?
Just then, it hit me, and I let out a gasp, my eyes widening in disbelief.
So everything was a dream, I was dreaming? But why would I dream about him? Witches don't just dream unless it was trying to tell them something.
Two nights before my carriage set out from the witches' realm, I dreamt that I ended up on the wrong pathway but thought nothing of it until I ended up in this realm.
It was my dream trying to warn me but I stupidly ignored it.
I couldn't ignore it this time. I was going to have to be more careful, if I couldn't escape from here easily.
"Miss, it's time for breakfast," Jane told me and I turned to look at her. I had even forgotten her presence. Guilt gnawed in my heart as I remembered what I did to her last night.
"Alright. Where is it?" I asked, noticing her hands and the table in front of me were both empty.
Naturally, I always had my breakfast in my bedroom.
"The Lycan king wants you to have breakfast with him," Jane replied and I froze.
Damn! Not now. I just dreamt about him about to kill me, how the hell do I face him now?
"Where?" I asked, hoping we would be surrounded by people, even though it was mostly him, the maids, and guards I had seen around ever since I stepped in here.
Was he a lonely king? I doubt that. Though he was known to be ruthless and terrifying, he does have trusted aides and allies right?
"The dining hall," Jane responded, refusing to raise her head to look at me.
I breathed out a sigh of relief, pleased that it wasn't his chambers.
"Alright. Help me dress up." I told Jane and she nodded, turning to leave when I;
"Hold on." She paused in her steps, her head bowed as she refused to turn around.
The bandage was still wrapped around her head and I felt awful just looking at it.
"I am sorry." I apologized and she stiffened, like she wasn't expecting that.
"I shouldn't have hit you, I was too desperate. Come over." I told her, and she hesitated, but turned around and did as I said.
I stood up to unwrap the bandages. She tried to be still. I saw the heavy wound and my hands shook.
How could I have done this to such an innocent girl? I thought it would just knock her out not almost break her skull.
I placed my hand on her forehead, and a glow emitted as she hissed, wanting to step away, but I grabbed her arm with my other hand and stopped her.
"Relax, or you wouldn't heal," I told her, and she did.
A Few moments later, her head looked spotless. She looked in the mirror and gasped in surprise.
"M-miss." She stuttered, rubbing the spot the wound had been before and I smiled, relieved that I had healed her.
"Are there any more pains?" I questioned and she shook her head sideways, meaning no.
"Thank you, mistress." She got onto her knees and bowed in appreciation.
"It's alright. I was the cause of the wound in the first place." I winked at her and proceeded into the bathroom, to prepare for the day.
Jane dressed me up in a thin gown, due to the hot weather and styled my hair into a bun with pins.
"You look perfect." She giggled, the usual happiness evident in her behavior.
I smiled.
...
...
"Good morning." I bowed to greet Damon who refused to acknowledge my greetings and just continued to stare at me.
As my Lord, unless he gave me the go-ahead to sit, I wasn't supposed to sit, but currently, I was Tulip, who didn't give a damn about such etiquette; besides, Damon would never be my lord.
Only Alpha Kai, the werewolf King, was worthy of such a title, to me, so I took a seat, reaching for the napkin.
"Rude, I guess the witches are not only incompetent but mannerless." I heard a masculine voice from my left and turned to see a blonde-haired man with crystal eyes sneering at me.
I didn't notice his presence before, or maybe I didn't care to, but he didn't seem familiar, although he did look competent and royal.
"And you are?" I frowned, displeased with his statements about my kind.
How dare he?
The rude blonde-haired chuckled before licking his lower lip.
"Peasants like you aren't worthy to know my name." He insulted, and rage burned through my veins.
I turned towards Damon who seemed to be watching the exchange between us with interest.
"Is this how things are run in here?" I inquired and Damon narrowed his eyes at me.
"Yes. How can you allow a pig from the slums to speak to your guest in such a manner?" I interlocked my fingers on the table.
The blonde-haired man, who was about to take a sip of his wine, choked upon hearing me refer to him as a pig and glared at me.
I smiled to infuriate him further. He was a pig.
"Don't flatter yourself, you are a mere breeder not some important guest." He smirked and I dug my nails into my palm.
How would Tulip react in such a situation?
"Oh really? But I shall be giving birth to the future heir and by right, that makes me almost your Queen." I told him, still having no idea what his identity was.
It definitely wasn't ordinary, but it can't match up to Damon's authority, that's for sure.
The blonde-haired idiot went pale while Damon chuckled, obviously having fun.
"Also since I am your royal breeder, when is my ceremony?" I asked and Damon paused, his eyes going cold.
"What ceremony?" He inquired.
