Although Jaeger had often claimed the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception weren't especially powerful, reality had a way of proving otherwise.
Against someone like Saitama, whose end simply couldn't be seen, those eyes were as good as ordinary.
But now, even the faintest glimpse of an "end" made them the most terrifying support ability imaginable.
For others, the challenge would be landing a clean strike on the death line. But Jaeger didn't need to worry about precision.
Not when he wielded god Avoid, a Noble Phantasm that turned every swing into a guaranteed hit.
When death is inevitable and contact is certain, there's little left for the enemy to do—especially one cursed with immortality.
Facing the so-called immortal black dragon, it made no difference.
"Slash—!"
A golden arc of light fell from the heavens. It tore through space, time, and distance.
Before the dragon could react, its massive head was severed again, blood spraying across the shattered ground as it thudded to the earth.
"ROAR—!!"
Even decapitated, the black dragon didn't die. How could it? Immortality kept it bound to existence, forcing it to feel everything.
In agony, its mountainous body writhed and twisted across the ruined battlefield, like some grotesque insect squirming in its final moments.
Run… I have to run! There's still hope if I can escape! If I keep dying to this freak—this fourth Transmigrator—I really might die for good!
Killed again and again without even seeing his attacker clearly, Kenji Saito's terror reached its peak.
Even his once-unshakable immortality felt… thinner. Slower. Weaker. He staggered backward, fumbling to retreat, when he noticed something horrifying.
His head—still lying where it fell—wasn't regenerating.
What…? Why isn't it healing? My immortality shouldn't fail… Unless—unless it's not failing… but sealed?
He stared at the faint glimmer of "death" hovering around the wound at the base of his neck.
A sickening realization took root. Some strange power had invaded his body—no, denied it. It wasn't that he was healing slowly. He was being forcibly denied recovery.
What the hell is this?! This guy's cheating! Those two girls just had Devil Fruits from One Piece—why is this new guy so ridiculously strong!?
Panicking, Kenji didn't even bother trying to reattach his head. Instead, he twisted his colossal, headless frame and bolted, flailing like some monstrous worm trying to flee a bonfire.
[Chat Group]
Uchiha Miyuki: "Wha… that was the immortal black dragon? He got steamrolled. Jaeger-sama didn't even break a sweat…"
Yamamoto Mei: "To be fair, he's not truly immortal. He's a mythological black dragon—strong, yes, but not on the level of, say, Tiamat. Even she, with her divine-level immortality, has a method to be killed."
Uchiha Miyuki: "But… isn't Tiamat literally the origin of monsters!? To kill her, you'd have to wipe out all life on the surface first! Jaeger just casually killed this guy's immortality!"
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Technically speaking, the Noble Phantasm Heaven is Dead destroys causality itself. It doesn't have the wide-area impact of Jaeger's large-scale Phantasms, but for a single target? It's more dangerous. The fact that the black dragon survived even three strikes thanks to his immortality is proof of how strong he was too."
Uchiha Miyuki: "Senpai, that… actually makes sense."
Sawamura Eriri: "Anyway, Jaeger-sama is amazing, period! And I'm the only one in the chat group who can summon him! Take that, pig-face!"
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Hmph. But I'm the one who traveled across worlds with him. You're just a loud golden retriever with an inferiority complex."
Sawamura Eriri: "Grrr! Say that again, you fat cow! I'll bite you!"
Back in the world of Bleach, the bickering voices of the chat group faded from Jaeger's mind. He was already focused on the fleeing black dragon.
"Immortality really is something else…" he muttered. "Even with your death lines severed and your wounds sealed, you're still crawling away like that."
His gaze sharpened.
The symbol in his right eye—the sun-shaped mark—flared with intense golden light.
Eye of Horus: the power of the sun.
"—Burn."
With that whisper, a flame ignited on the dragon's torn stump of a neck. But this wasn't any fire—it was nuclear. A sun born on Earth. Temperatures reached fifteen million degrees in an instant.
The black dragon's body became a pillar of solar fire, turning into a seething orb of light, blinding and deadly. From a distance, it looked like a miniature star had descended onto the battlefield.
"ROAAAAAAARRR—!!"
Its agonized howl became a soundwave so violent it blasted away stone and soil alike, shaking the town with the force of an earthquake. The dragon's scream didn't stop. It couldn't. The pain of being burned alive while unable to die was beyond comprehension.
This heat… it's not Ryūjin Jakka's Zanpakutō… No… This is the real sun…!
WHY… WHY CAN'T I DIE!?
Every scale, every bone, every nerve was being incinerated. Its immortality kept it from dying, but the pain only escalated.
Kenji Saito's consciousness cracked under the torment, begging—pleading—for death. But it wasn't up to Jaeger.
It was up to his own immortality.
Jaeger had simply lit the flame.
And it would not extinguish until everything had burned away.
It took time.
Too much time.
But at last, with a final, wretched howl, the last of the black dragon's strength gave out. The massive form burned to ash.
The flames dissipated, leaving only a single, severed head on the ground—lifeless, still, and silent.
The sun had gone out.
Yoruichi lay collapsed on the scorched ground, her eyes wide, her breathing uneven.
"That thing… it's really dead…? That monster who made me feel like I could die at any second… that man just erased him…"
Swordsmanship that shattered space. Flames that rivaled the strongest Shinigami captains. Who was this man?
"Is it over? Are we sure he didn't run away?" Mei asked quietly, wary eyes fixed on the remains.
"I doubt it," Utaha replied, opening the chat group interface. "The sun flame extinguished. If he had escaped, it wouldn't have. Unless he had some hidden contingency, he's gone."
She paused.
"…Just to be sure, let's ask World Noble-kun himself. If anyone can give a definitive answer, it's the one who holds the Hand of Hermes."
[Chat Group]
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Jaeger-kun, is that Transmigrator finally dead?"
Nerona Jaeger: "Dead. Got confirmation from my side just now."
Uchiha Miyuki: "Confirmation? Oh... so His Highness Jaeger must've hijacked the guy's legend and forged a new Noble Phantasm, huh? Guess he's really done for."
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Already? World Noble-kun wasted no time, huh? That Transmigrator wasn't weak either… I'm curious what you managed to pull from him."
Esdeath: "If you're done showing off in here, come outside and show us what you got, Jaeger."
Luo Hao: "I wonder… Is it related to Gungnir, or perhaps the black dragon he summoned? Those were his greatest assets. A Noble Phantasm born from those would be quite valuable."
Jibril: "Ugh! I have a bad feeling about this… Jaeger's about to pull another S-tier Noble Phantasm, isn't he? And don't forget—he still gets to extract one ability and has three Bleach World draws left… Hello?! We're here grinding missions like peasants and this man's running a full-on wholesale."
Jaeger: "...You say it like I'm guaranteed to get OP skills every time."
Jibril: "Oh please. When have you ever gotten a trash skill? Your luck's downright mythological."
Nerona Jaeger: "...Now that you mention it…"
Tohsaka Sakura: "Jaeger-nii's been blessed by RNGesus since day one. Even Luo Hao-san can't compete with that."
Luo Hao: "Oi! Sakura-chan! You can't just drag a god-slayer like me through the mud!"
Eriri Sawamura: "That's fine. The stronger Jaeger becomes, the better it is for me. After all… I am the only one in this chat who can summon him~"
Eriri Sawamura: "C'mon, Jaeger! Show me what my dear summoned beast has acquired this time. I want to see my treasure!"
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Your summoned beast? Tch. Shameless. Golden retriever owner suits him better."
Eriri Sawamura: "Jealous, are we? And even Jaeger didn't mind the nickname~"
Jaeger: "...It's just a name. Utaha's been calling me a scumbag for longer anyway."
Jaeger: "[Image Attached] Here it is. The Noble Phantasm I got from Kenji Saito. It ties into his powers pretty well—fills a gap I had."
Black Dragon of the Underworld
Level: 1
Category: Active Noble Phantasm
Effect:
Upon mortal injury or death, this Noble Phantasm activates automatically, transforming the user into an immortal black dragon. As long as stamina remains, resurrection is possible even after special forms of death. In its released state, the user becomes effectively unkillable through conventional means.
Passive:
Grants the ability to ignore the immortality of others. The effectiveness of this ability scales with the target's immortality tier.
Uchiha Miyuki: "Same name as that guy's… But yours feels more better, Jaeger."
Kasumigaoka Utaha: "Definitely. That Transmigrator didn't even have soul-level immortality. But now Jaeger can ignore enemy immortality? This will make future boss fights way easier."
Luo Hao: "Still, it's a trump card, not something you use casually. A Noble Phantasm like this… it's extremely rare. It's worth more than it seems."
Jibril: "Hold on, hold on—why are you all acting so calm? This is insane! Full body and soul immortality plus resurrection plus anti-immortality? Do you hear yourselves? That's not a Noble Phantasm, that's a damn cheat code."
Esdeath: "...Maybe it's because we've seen planet-busting Noble Phantasms that this one feels… restrained. But Jibril's right. This is strong. Jaeger's luck is unreal."
Tohsaka Sakura: "Congrats, Jaeger-nii! With this, fighting those immortal monsters won't be nearly as risky anymore!"
Jaeger: "Yeah… though I think the most valuable part is being able to ignore immortality. The resurrection's cool, but if someone's strong enough to kill me even once, I probably won't win the second time either."
Nakiri Erina: "Speaking of immortality… um, I'm a Phoenix-type Phantom Beast, you know. So… technically… I'm also immortal."
Uchiha Miyuki: "Pfft—Erina, don't flatter yourself. There are levels to immortality. The Phoenix fruit in your world isn't even close to that black dragon nonsense. Jaeger could end you without even unsheathing his sword."
Nakiri Erina: "...That hurts. I thought we were equals… Turns out I'm just a discount immortal."
It wasn't often they encountered a foe with genuine immortality. Now that Jaeger had gained a Noble Phantasm tailored to counter it, the chat group naturally erupted in celebration and envy.
After exchanging a few more laughs, Jaeger turned his focus back to reality.
With a subtle shift in thought, the enormous black bone dragon beneath him descended slowly from the sky.
"What… is that…?"
Shihouin Yoruichi stared upward, eyes wide as the bone dragon eclipsed the sky like a mountain.
At this point, even if the Soul King himself appeared before her, she doubted she'd react with more than a sigh.
The dragon dissolved into particles just as it neared the earth, fading into an ethereal mist.
For the first time, Yoruichi saw Jaeger's face clearly.
"...Damn. He's hot."
She cursed under her breath, realizing that the person behind that monstrous power looked like a myth brought to life.
Radiating divinity from head to toe, Jaeger's face possessed a beauty so striking that even someone like her—a hardened warrior indifferent to appearances—couldn't help but be stunned.
Even Yamamoto Mei and Kasumigaoka Utaha, both used to terrifying powerhouses, blushed and turned their faces away like flustered schoolgirls.
"Oi, Jaeger!" Yamamoto Mei grumbled. "You switching classes to succubus now or what?! That passive effect's way too much!"
She glanced sideways, cheeks pink.
"If that Noble Phantasm made girls more attractive, I'd have no complaints. But you? What a waste!"
Jaeger chuckled. "Hey, I don't mind. As long as my body doesn't turn feminine, what's wrong with being a little too handsome? Who wants to be ugly, anyway?"
T/N: Well, I heard y'all, I'll be continuing this novel but it still depends on your support guys.
As for why I even had those thoughts in the first place… honestly this novel is a mess.
There's too much racism, too many mistakes and when I looked back over it, I realized I could probably write four novels in the time it takes to work on this one alone. That's how messy it really is.
The storyline itself is actually pretty good, but some points seriously get on my nerves.
