Chapter 32 - A Proper Vision of The Path Ahead

(Cyrus's POV)

"We've acquired a ship that sails to Braavos, My Lord." Torys said, "From there, we can make our way to Pentos."

"Braavos." I said with a raised eyebrow, "Why that one specifically? Why not directly Pentos?"

We were standing outside the building we were staying at, having discussed the next move. I was leaning on the wall, looking at the others who were standing on the street. Torys was telling me about what he and Erys had done earlier.

"We have more contacts in Braavos." Mira said, "Not just that, we have an appointment with the Iron Bank."

"The Iron Bank?" I said, a bit confused, "What do you have to do with a bank?"

"Let us just say that prior to your emergence, we have been making enacting on some plans." She said with a smile, "The Iron Bank is the first step."

"Hm, I suppose so." I said with a shrug, "When do we depart?"

"Today." Torys said, "In three hours."

I nodded, "Very well." I said, "Have you sent word to the King that we are leaving?"

"Yes, My Lord." Torys nodded, "I have."

"Good." I said as I stepped forwards, placing my hands in my pockets, "I guess we can get ready now."

"To Essos we go."

*************

I was looking at the ship that was before us, "Is that thing steady?" I asked Erys, "I don't like the way it creaks?"

The vessel looked like its wood was rotting and was unstable, it didn't really look that safe. The last thing I need is for it to crumble in the middle of the sea and I end up drowning because my power is drained.

"It doesn't look like much." Erys said, "But the captain of this vessel claims it has made several trips to Braavos."

"My ship will take you everywhere!" I heard a short and chubby man say as he walked up to us, "If you don't like it, you can fuck off!!"

I raised an eyebrow, "Pardon me?"

He spat on the ground, "I know you don't like the way she looks, but she's sturdy!"

"It looks like it needs maintenance," I said as I pointed at the hull, "I don't trust the integrity of-"

"Shut the fuck up." He said with an angry tone, "It'll hold."

"With all due respect." Erys said, "You'd do well to not speak that way to Lord Cyrus."

"Lord Cyrus? Never heard of him." the captain said as he turned around, "Everyone's a Lord nowadays."

"He is the Lord of Light." Erys said, "You would do well to show him respect."

"Lord of Light? Give me a fucking break." He scoffed, "The Lord of Light is nothing but flames, that is what he is. He isn't some dumb looking man."

I rolled my eyes, "For fuck's sake." I muttered, "Get the ship ready. We leave soon."

"Oh look at him, he orders around!" He said as he walked up the ramp, "Only way I'm allowing you on my ship is because you're paying gold!"

"This guy." I said with a frown

"Do not mind him." Erys said, "Most sailors are like this."

"I bet." I muttered as I felt some familiar presences behind us, "Hm....."

I turned around to see Aemon and Baelon Targaryen walking up to us, followed by some Knights. Mira walked closer to me, getting behind me as the group reached us.

"We have heard word that you are to leave Westeros." Aemon said, looking at me and then at Mira, "Is this true?"

"I am standing in front of a ship, getting ready to board it." I said, "Are you really that stupid, Prince Aemon? Did the Targaryen inbreeding fuck up your brain?"

Baelon scowled at me, "The hell did you say?!" He clenched his fist, "Want to say that again?"

"Gladly." I said, "Did the-"

"Enough of this." Aemon said, "We're not here to start another skirmish. Our Father wanted to confirm, that is all."

"Hm." I said, "Does he?"

"We simply want to understand your motives for leaving." He said

"I'll gladly tell you that too." I said, "I am to return to Essos, to my followers, and understand the world better. For you see, they claim that I am R'hllor or an aspect of said Red God. This vessel, this being known as Cyrus, does not understand this world. If I am The Red God, then I should go where my religion is more prominent. After I understand everything, then I will return to Westeros."

"And what will you do then?" He asked while narrowing his eyes

I shrugged, "That's up to you Targaryens." I said with a slight smile, "No. Things like these are never up to you. No, no, no. It's not up to you. It's up to the Faith of The Seven. See, I may not understand this world completely, but I do know Religion. There is always one that is threatened by others. And they will act upon it with violence. But not always, and not all that follow that religion."

"The Faith is the most prominent religion in Westeros." Baelon said, "You cannot change that."

"And that is the problem sometimes." I said seriously, "That fear of change is the problem."

"The Old Gods were the ruling deities in Westeros." Mira spoke up, "Until the Andals brought the Faith of The Seven here. And even when House Targaryen conquered Westeros, the Faith remained in power."

"There is good reason for that." Aemon started, "The-"

"Oh please." I said, "I'm not going to get into a religious debate with a bunch of fools. I was never religious myself, but that's not my point now. I will return one day to Westeros, peacefully, and I will see to it that the Red Religion gains more influence."

"You do that, you could start a war." Aemon said

"Wars." I turned around, "They are always the response of weak-willed fucks like you. Those in power who wish to wage wars because of their differences with others they are nothing but pathetic scum. That is why your Father might very well be the better ruler. He doesn't wish to wage war nor spread the flames of your beasts."

I walked up the ramp, being followed by the others as we boarded the ship.

I turned around and looked at the Princes, "Should you start a war, simply because you are threatened by religion, you are nothing but weaklings." I told him, "You should be aware of that."

"Not religion." Aemon said, "You."

"That's a good mentality." I said, staring right at him, "Keep that mentality."

"It will probably save you in the long run."
