Patrick Redfield.

He is a powerful individual who, in the future, could rival Roger and the Whitebeard Pirates all by himself. He possesses terrifying Observation Haki, said to be able to see through anyone's heart… and even read memories.

In his previous life, Kaido had encountered Redfield, and the latter's formidable swordsmanship left Kaido unable to retaliate.

Redfield could easily penetrate the hearts of others, find their weaknesses, and manipulate people's minds at will.

He is incredibly strong, capable of fighting tens of thousands of Marines alone without retreating, and has repeatedly battled Admirals Sengoku and Vice Admiral Garp without defeat.

Later, after witnessing the strength of Roger and Whitebeard in their prime, Redfield abandoned his dream of becoming the Pirate King and spent the rest of his life in Impel Down.

He never expected to meet Redfield in such a place.

Kaido marveled at how small the world was and how coincidental fate could be.

As Kaido looked at Redfield, Redfield also noticed Kaido's presence.

Some people are born with awakened Observation Haki; no guidance or training is needed, and it continuously strengthens over time.

Redfield is such a person.

The moment he stepped into this district, he sensed an aura no weaker than his own.

Redfield looked at Kaido, who was wearing a cloak, with an intriguing expression, then walked over to a round table next to Kaido and sat down. He ordered a glass of Red wine and clasped his hands on his cane.

"Someone like you would actually appear here."

Redfield smiled playfully: "Don't tell me, 'How do you know?' because your heart told me the answer.

By the way, a piece of advice: if you don't want me to see through you, don't let your thoughts be so muddled. Do you understand? Newcomer Kaido."

Kaido's face was ashen.

Redfield was as unbridled as ever.

This guy had been active on the seas for at least fifteen years, already a well-known pirate during the Rocks era.

Of course, he was also an undisputed "senior."

"Kaido? Did I hear that right? The man who defeated Black Arm Zephyr not long ago is here?"

A sharp-eared pirate overheard Redfield's conversation and immediately relayed the news verbatim, like a megaphone.

Well, now everyone in the tavern knew Kaido had arrived on this island.

"You'd best put away your Observation Haki, Redfield." Kaido removed his cloak, his eyes clouded with gloom.

Redfield gave a sinister smile, his blood-Red eyes like two rubies.

"When I was your age, I didn't have such terrifying Haki… It seems Zephyr's defeat by you was not unjust."

"I don't have time for your nonsense. Compared to me, isn't your presence here even more surprising?"

Kaido's eyes were icy, staring coldly at Redfield.

Blood Count, Redfield, with a bounty of 2.3 billion Berries.

The two men's auras were released almost simultaneously. The colliding and intertwining energies of their Conqueror's Haki formed a massive shockwave, overturning tables and chairs in the tavern and sending pirates flying.

With a loud bang, the ceiling was violently ripped open, and the floor beneath their feet cracked, the fissures spreading outwards with destructive force.

Bang!!!

The tavern exploded violently. Redfield flew out lightly, landing on the street.

From the smoke and dust, Kaido strode out, a dark scowl on his forehead.

Ann, wrapped in a cloak, followed behind him.

"Today is not the time for a fight. Let's cross swords another day, Kaido."

Redfield's voice was alluringly hoarse, and a faint smile remained on his face throughout, pleasant and with elegant, dignified manners.

"I'll let you breathe for a few more days, Red!"

Kaido sneered, watched Redfield leave, then turned and led Ann to the next tavern.

"Big Brother, that uncle looked so amazing!"

Ann trotted beside Kaido, asking.

"Heh… In terms of strength, that's true, but he is destined to become a speck of dust in history."

Kaido offered no comment on Redfield's fate. Such powerful and arrogant monsters are not easily subdued by anyone.

Kaido liked powerful subordinates, but not ones that were difficult to control.

The Rocks Pirates were a lesson learned.

If Kaido wanted to dominate the world, in addition to improving his own strength, he also needed to build a massive pirate army.

A formidable force capable of contending with the World Government!!

Night fell, and the Barossa Auction House.

Brilliant neon lights flickered above the stage, where a huge curtain was set up.

A host in a comical clown suit walked onto the stage, and a bunny girl attendant handed him a microphone.

The host grinned, his thick, crimson lipstick making him look very bizarre.

But the audience loved it.

"Gulliver! Gulliver!"

The audience cheered, and the atmosphere was intense; clearly, the host was very popular.

Gulliver raised his hands, signaling the audience to quiet down, and began to introduce the auction items.

"Today's first item is a female human, Emma. Emma is a famous pianist from a certain country. Whoever buys her, whether for dining, entertainment, or any other occasion, she can provide soothing music. The starting bid is three million Berries, and each increment must not be less than one hundred thousand Berries."

Looking at the bustling and noisy auction house not far away, Ann, on the rooftop of the restaurant, nervously looked at Kaido: "Big Brother, aren't you going to participate in the auction?"

"Participate in the auction?"

Kaido scoffed, "Anyway, what I want will eventually be mine, so why waste money buying it?"

The night wind was somewhat hot and unbearable, blowing through his hair, and his dark eyes were incredibly deep.

The streets were teeming with people, and the buildings were brightly lit.

The dark sky enveloped everything like a huge net, and the twinkling stars were hidden.

Several hours later, it was almost midnight.

The auction house had closed.

People poured out of the venue's entrance, some joyful, some regretful, discussing the ownership of the Devil Fruit.

"I can't believe it was bought by Osborne Johnson for 350 million Berries! That Devil Fruit was an Ancient Zoan, extremely rare and ancient!"

"It is said that if one becomes an Ancient Zoan ability user, their body will be even harder and more resilient than ordinary Zoan types…"

Before he could finish his sentence, there was a loud bang, and the auction house behind him exploded violently.

The ground beneath their feet trembled immediately afterward, and thick smoke poured out along the corridor, its pungent smell making people cough.

"Explosion??! What happened?"

Startled by the sudden explosion, but when they saw the uniformly dressed bodyguards' faces turn serious as they anxiously ran towards the auction house, they simultaneously realized a problem.

"It was a man-made explosion! The troublemakers gathered on the island have made their move!!"

Boom!!

Another huge explosion sounded, and a man wearing an oni mask ran out.

He held a giant, pitch-black scythe in his right hand and a treasure box in his left.

From the explosion hole behind him, pirates and black-clad bodyguards continuously rushed out, their expressions ferocious and enraged.
