Chapter 632 - Harvests

Once the final spark of resistance within the Predator mothership was extinguished, cold efficiency supplanted the previous clamor of combat.

The illumination within the command chamber spilled steadily across the metallic deck plating, reflecting minor scoring and already coagulated alien blood. Osiris stood at the center, listening to the telemetry updates from the various tactical elements.

"All adversary units have been rendered non-combat-viable, and sedative injections are completed," Apothecary Gaius's voice relayed through the communication channel, measured and clear. "The vital signs of the heavily damaged specimens have been stabilized. Specifically the Elder; his biological markers remain highly resilient, making him well worth subsequent observation."

"Acknowledged," Osiris nodded. "Initiate transit. Utilize the specialized containment pods, and ensure the energy-suppression fields remain active throughout the duration."

"Containment pods are deployed," Tech-Sergeant Cassius's deep tone cut into the comms. "The internal liner matrices are active, and the exterior alloy chassis is fully intact. This framework is entirely sufficient to withstand the structural stresses of cross-dimensional transport."

Heavy footsteps and mechanical hums resonated across the deck.

Astartes and Aeldari warriors operated in close synchronization, lifting the unconscious Predators one by one into the rectangular, faintly blue-glowing metallic pods. When the final captive—the severely damaged but still breathing Elder—was carefully secured into a reinforced containment cell, Cassius personally verified the locking clamps and energy output.

"All containment units are verified sealed; suppression fields are operating within nominal parameters," he reported.

Osiris offered no superfluous commentary, merely signaling with a hand gesture.

The pre-staged dimensional translocation apparatus illuminated with a deep blue aura within the mothership's cargo bay. Under the influence of tractor arrays, the containment pods glided into the transit matrix in sequence, as if swallowed by an invisible maw, bound for that familiar base within the desolate, research-optimized Death World.

"They will receive the focus they merit," Osiris murmured to himself, already visualizing the modified research facilities at the base awaiting this cache of invaluable live specimens. Specifically, the more concentrated "YautjaPrime" strain potentially residing within the Elder's biology would serve as the primary research vector for Apothecary Gaius and his staff.

Concurrently, the processing of the mothership itself proceeded along parallel lines.

Seer Iryan led several Aeldari tech-craftsmen onto the bridge, their fingers gliding gracefully across control interfaces constructed of wraithbone, engaging in a silent dialogue with the ship's mainframe systems.

"The architecture of this vessel's cloaking field generator is intriguing, yet far from flawless," an Aeldari technician commented, his eyes shimmering with analytical interest.

"Our psychic shrouding can couple with its matrix, engineering a far more complete visual and sensor deception," Iryan stated, turning toward Osiris. "With your authorization, we can temporarily envelop the vessel to facilitate transit."

"Execute," Osiris agreed.

Shortly thereafter, a psychic field layer that was difficult to perceive directly with the naked eye—yet induced a subtle distortion in light waves and scanning beams—gradually blanketed the aggressive hull of the Predator mothership like a translucent membrane. The massive vessel was slowly towed from the frozen canyon where it had been berthed, quietly re-homed like a slumbering behemoth, and ultimately secured deep within a pre-prepared, meticulously camouflaged cavern complex inside Valley Three.

This location would serve as a temporary yet fully functional research outpost.

The subsequent operational focus shifted toward the wealth of knowledge archived within the mothership itself.

Building upon their previous breach of the scout ship's mainframe, a combined technical spearhead consisting of Tech-Priests and Aeldari technicians reassigned to Osiris's command initiated a joint assault on the data locks.

"The biometric encryption operates as the primary obstacle, but it is not the sole trajectory," a Tech-Priest noted, his cybernetic optic focusing rapidly as he tracked the cascading data streams. "We can attempt to interface directly with the underlying directive protocols to execute an overwrite."

"It requires a simulated deception utilizing psychic force paired with the corresponding cipher keys," an Aeldari technician supplemented, the wraithbone probe in his hand emitting a soft hum. "Integrating the two should unlock a backend vulnerability."

The collaboration sustained a silent, highly efficient cadence.

Several hours later, the unfamiliar Predator glyphs on the main bridge displays began to be systematically translated and overwritten, as familiar Gothic characters and Aeldari iconography flashed alternately across the screens.

"Breach achieved," the Tech-Priest reported, his vocalizer carrying a trace of restrained excitement. "Baseline navigation data and database access privileges secured."

A massive influx of data began downloading and decoding. The star charts gradually detailed themselves, and parameter lists expanded continuously. The profile of the Predator homeworld grew increasingly transparent: coordinates precise to multiple decimal points, atmospheric composition ratios, gravitational constants, geomagnetic volatility mapping—and even the roughly charted positioning of orbital defense platforms.

"Critical telemetry verified," Iryan stated, reviewing the display as his gaze rested upon several navigational paths encrypted with specialized symbols. "The navigation core preserves several encrypted direct-transit routes to the homeworld, alongside corresponding identification beacons. This represents the most efficient trajectory, which implies—"

"Which implies we hold the admission ticket," Osiris finished the thought, his calm gaze sweeping across the flickering data.

The key was fully mastered.

Seer Iryan scrutinized the continuously unravelling data, his slender fingers tracing across the holographic star chart to calculate potential trajectories.

"The intelligence remains unrefined, specifically regarding surface fortifications and primary population centers. To securely execute the grand ritual, we require a precise spatial anchor, alongside close-range mapping of the target world's geological structures and energetic ley lines." He looked toward Osiris. "A reconnaissance element must be deployed to conduct field surveys. This involves more than just the physical transit itself; it concerns the evaluation of systemic stability before and after the transposition. Disrupting the center of mass of a planet produces gravitational ripples that must be precisely calculated and counterbalanced ahead of time, lest the entire star system's orbital mechanics descend into unpredictable chaos. Even during the bygone eras of my people, such undertakings demanded absolute caution."

Osiris processed the risks and the underlying necessity.

Weighing the variables briefly, he issued his command: "Approved. You will select elite scouting personnel to deploy aboard this mothership. Tech-Sergeant Cassius, you will accompany them with two Astartes to maintain communications with the rear echelon. Your objective is passive surveillance, data harvesting, and critical node evaluation—bypass direct engagement unless strictly necessary. Crucially, verify the precise coordinates and pre-requisite conditions required to execute the 'relocation'."

"Your will shall be done," Cassius responded in a low tone, beginning his selection process.

"However," Osiris pivoted the focus, "not everyone departs. Seer Iryan, I require you to leave behind two of your masters who excel most at stealth and infiltration. A sudden disappearance of the Predators does not align with our strategic interests. The stage of Pandora still requires this character to maintain pressure."

Iryan grasped the intent immediately, a knowing curve gracing his features. "You wish for us to portray the Predators, continuing to agitate the localized theater? Intriguing. And we can undeniably deliver a far superior performance than the original cast."
