Chapter 634 - Arriving at the Predator Homeworld

The pressure was being applied with absolute precision.

The RDA's wilderness operational efficiency dropped noticeably, and morale began to fluctuate. Confronted by the board of directors regarding surging security costs and production losses, Colonel Quaritch faced mounting duress. He began to more seriously evaluate "The Seeker" as a potential collaborator or mercenary asset, yet his pride and inherent suspicion kept him hesitating.

Within the Na'vi clan, Seze's standing steadily ascended due to her "prudent" posture, while the radical faction saw its momentum blunted by consecutive losses and setbacks. More importantly, an intangible doubt began to spread: why did the raids always pinpoint specific targets with such precision? Was there an internal vulnerability within the clan? This suspicion further eroded the radicals' influence.

Maine's squad, following Osiris's instructions, continued to provide "bounded" assistance to the Na'vi—primarily early warnings and intelligence sharing, with occasional regional sweeps after a "Predator" assault occurred. This sustained the link between Seze and "The Seeker" while deliberately avoiding a definitive resolution to the threat. The assistance the Na'vi received was a mere drop in the bucket; the sense of crisis never dissipated.

Everything was advancing along the trajectory designed by Osiris. An invisible hand was slowly but resolutely winding the gears of Pandora.

While the situation on Pandora advanced according to the script, the Predator mothership, traveling across the vast sea of stars, quietly arrived at the periphery of the target system after a period of warp transit utilizing the established navigation data.

Inside the bridge, Seer Iryan and Tech-Sergeant Cassius stood side by side, watching the planetary body expand across the main viewscreen. It was a world of muted dark-red hues, its surface displaying vast expanses of brown landmasses and dark oceans, capped by polar ice sheets beneath a somewhat turbid atmosphere. From a distance, it manifested no glaring luminescence of a high-density civilization, aligning with the hypothesis that a martial species would favor decentralized, cloaked, or subterranean settlements.

"Initiate full-spectrum passive scanning. Deploy psychic probes at minimum power, restricted to sensory reception," Iryan commanded in a low tone.

Aeldari tech-craftsmen operated the precise instruments, and several sensor housings quietly extended from the mothership's hull. Concurrently, several wraithbone constructs no larger than shuttles were launched; they emitted virtually zero energy signatures, drifting toward the planetary orbit like cosmic dust. The human sensor arrays activated in synchronization, harvesting physical telemetry such as electromagnetic spectrums and background radiation.

"Multiple low-orbit signal sources detected, suspected defense satellites or orbital stations. They are sparsely distributed but blanket critical orbital sectors. No signs of large-scale fleet concentrations," an Aeldari scout reported.

"The surface scanning detects multiple high-intensity but discrete energy reaction nodes. They do not match the signatures of large populations or industrialized complexes; they are more likely localized weapon arrays or ritual sites. No evident urbanized energy grid covering large regions has been identified," Tech-Sergeant Cassius analyzed the readings on his data slate.

This diverged somewhat from their baseline expectations. The technology tree of the Predator civilization appeared highly polarized toward personal armaments, hunting implements, and starship design, rather than large-scale surface infrastructure or high-density habitation.

"Gravitational readings are stable. Planetary rotational axis tilt and orbital parameters are logged. Initiating the structural mapping of the planet's internal mass distribution to calculate primary gravitational equilibrium and weakness vectors," Iryan focused on his primary objective.

Relocating a planet was by no means as simple as dragging it from Point A to Point B. It was akin to pulling a specific piece from a complex block tower; one had to pre-calculate the precise impact on the overall gravitational structure of both the origin and destination systems during the extraction and final placement phases. The ancient, grand rituals of the Aeldari were capable of processing this tier of structural interference with reality, provided they possessed an exceptionally accurate "blueprint" and designated "construction nodes."

The mothership maintained total silence, moving slowly along a distant orbit far from the planet to conduct a comprehensive sweep spanning several days. The deployed psychic probes acted like intangible tendrils, brushing lightly across the planet's outer space, sensing the "texture" of the continuum and potential artificial structural markers.

Finally, Iryan pointed toward a vast, mountainous terrain in the planet's northern hemisphere where the energy readings manifested a complex matrix: "Here. The spatial framework is relatively 'pliant', the geological history is stable, and it rests far from major energy nodes. Crucially, the planetary mass distribution beneath this sector features a natural anomaly that can serve as an ideal initial leverage point for the ritual to exert force. Establishing the spatial anchor here will yield the most controllable cascading gravitational perturbations, making subsequent stabilization operations significantly more manageable."

He called up a complex psychic mathematical model to demonstrate: "Preliminary calculations indicate that initiating the dimensional tractive relocation from this node keeps the orbital deviation of the origin system's primary planets within acceptable limits. It would require approximately three thousand to five thousand years before a significant chaotic trend emerges that demands artificial intervention. Furthermore, placing it at the pre-designated coordinates on the fringe of the Death World system designated by Lord Osiris can be counterbalanced by pre-deploying gravitational equilibrium arrays."

Tech-Sergeant Cassius reviewed the physical telemetry. His logic core processed the data for a moment before he nodded in validation: "The data chain is complete, and the risk assessment resides within the established thresholds. This region simultaneously satisfies the prerequisites for covertly establishing an outpost, conducting deep scans, and serving as the future starting point for the relocation operation. I recommend initiating the next phase: deploying a ground team to verify the localized geological stability of the anchor sector and deploy preliminary beacons."

"Agreed," Iryan said. "I will lead two Striking Scorpions and a Howling Banshee for the surface reconnaissance. Tech-Sergeant, you and the remaining Astartes will remain aboard the vessel to maintain orbital vigilance and communication relay. Once the mobile wraithbone beacons we carry are activated, they can establish a preliminary resonant link with the shipborne primary probe and the distant ritual core on Pandora, smoothing the path for subsequent large-scale power projection."

The deployment parameters were set.

A compact assault craft, disguised psychically and structurally tailored to mirror Predator aesthetics, was quietly released from the mothership's ventral bay. Carrying Iryan and his three Aeldari elites, it glided toward the mountain anchor sector on the dark-red surface of the hunters' homeworld, resembling a piece of meteoric debris burning through the atmosphere.

Far away on Pandora, Osiris received the phase reports and anchor coordinates transmitted by the scouting element. Standing before the star map, he observed the detailed information newly annotated beside the point representing the Predator homeworld, knowing that the most critical "positioning" phase of the grand plan was nearing completion.

Concurrently, the Aeldari "actors" remaining on Pandora had just executed another precise ambush against an RDA logistical convoy, artfully planting forged evidence that pointed toward a neutral Na'vi clan.

Both ends of the chessboard were advancing at the established pace beneath his gaze. The season of harvest was drawing near.
