Max arrived back at the Hazbin Hotel just as the neon lights of Pride flickered into their usual restless rhythm. He reached for the door out of habit—then stopped.
It didn't budge.
"Hm?" Max frowned, knocking lightly. "That's… odd. Charlie never locks the hotel. Kinda defeats the whole 'open-door redemption' thing."
Normally, he'd have a key to his partner's place. But the hotel wasn't normal. Its only real "key" was KeeKee—an artificial demon created by the Morningstar family themselves. Not something you could copy. Not something you could trick. And definitely not something Max wanted to mess with.
"Keekee!" Max called, raising his voice a bit. "Can you come here? I need to be let in!"
No response.
"…Okay, now that's weird," he muttered, knocking again. "She's usually all over me."
From inside, Charlie's voice called back, slightly rushed. "Wait a few minutes! We're finishing up!"
Max blinked. "Finishing… what?"
He stepped back, confused. Whatever exercise Charlie was doing, it apparently required locking the entire hotel down. KeeKee soon padded over anyway, tail flicking lazily, clearly more interested in attention than duty.
"Well, hey there," Max said, crouching down. "Guess you're off the clock."
He scratched along her back and behind her ears. KeeKee immediately melted, purring and rolling onto her side, completely unconcerned with the locked door situation.
After a few minutes, the front door finally clicked open.
Max stepped inside—and froze.
The lobby had been completely transformed.
Streamers hung from the ceiling. Soft lights glowed warmly instead of the usual harsh reds. A handmade banner stretched across the far wall, glittering slightly as it read:
Happy Anniversary
Standing beneath it were Octavia, Bee, Charlie, Vaggie, and Loona.
All of them were dressed up—not overly formal, but clearly chosen with care. Elegant, casual, comfortable. And all of them were smiling.
Max stared, stunned.
"…Okay," he said slowly. "What anniversary is this? Because I'm pretty sure I'd remember if I started dating any of you today."
Charlie stepped forward, hands clasped behind her back, smiling softly. "Today's the anniversary of the day we all decided to stay with you. Together. One year ago."
Max blinked again. "…Oh."
She continued gently. "After we found out about each other. After everything. We chose not to leave."
Max scratched the back of his head. "Huh. Yeah… that was today, wasn't it?"
He looked around at them all. "But I didn't think it was anniversary-worthy. Especially since we're engaged."
Octavia stepped closer, her arms folding neatly behind her. "We didn't want to overwhelm you with separate anniversaries for everyone," she said. "So this one's about us. All of us choosing each other."
"And for when we eventually get married," Bee added cheerfully, already halfway to the bar.
Max exhaled slowly, emotion finally catching up with him.
"…Alastor," he muttered under his breath. "Of course."
Charlie tilted her head. "What?"
"Nothing," Max said, smiling. "Just realizing someone definitely distracted me on purpose."
He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around all of them carefully. "Thank you. Really. I'll… try to get you something later to celebrate properly."
Bee grinned. "Too late for that. Tonight's about vibes."
"Now let's party!" she announced, immediately pouring drinks.
Soon, the lobby filled with laughter, music, and clinking glasses.
Max had been drunk with Bee before—Beelzejuice tended to do that—but seeing all of them tipsy at the same time was… new.
Bee was the first to really let loose, using a little magic to exaggerate her features, particularly her breasts, ust enough to tease, pulling Max into an overenthusiastic hug and nearly crushing him with all four arms. Purposely pulling his arm into her chest.
"Bee—bee—air," Max laughed weakly.
Charlie wasn't far behind, fanning herself dramatically. "Why is it so hot in here?" she said, tugging at her collar, revealing some of her cleavage.
Vaggie immediately stepped in. "Charlie, no. You're fine. You're not taking anything off."
"I didn't say I was," Charlie protested, absolutely lying.
Loona leaned against the bar, surprisingly composed. But her tail wagged just fast enough for Max to notice.
"Yeah," Max said, smirking slightly. "Sure you're fine."
Octavia, meanwhile, had gone quiet.
She stood off to the side, cheeks flushed, wings slightly puffed. Max approached carefully.
"You okay, my owl?" he asked.
She looked up at him, eyes unfocused but warm. "It's… it's nothing," she said softly. "Just… really glad I'm still here. With you."
Max smiled gently. "Ah. You're that kind of drunk."
She tried to take a step forward—and promptly stumbled.
Max caught her easily. "Careful."
She relaxed instantly, leaning into his arms. "Mmm… cozy."
He chuckled, holding her securely. "You're a lightweight. But… yeah. Cute."
Before he could say more, Charlie tripped into him from the other side.
"Maxyyy," she slurred.
Then Bee leaned in.
Then Vaggie, trying very hard to keep everyone upright.
Max looked down at the pile of affectionate chaos surrounding him.
"…This is going to be a long night," he said.
Vaggie sighed at the exact same time. "Yep."
Max just smiled, steadying everyone as the music played on. Completely unaware of the hell type fun the girls hsd planned for later.
[A.N: So, just some heads up, next chapter will be a lot. Not smut territory but close by. And thanks to how restrictive AI is on smut and that kind of stuff (I use AI to help with Grammar and spacing which Webnovel does allow as long as the content is original and AI free, which it is) so my spacing on those kind of chapters will be off. Its not my fault how censored they made the AI programs I can use. And let me be clear again, this story was not made by AI in the slightest, all ideas and how the story is going is purely my work. AI only helps with spacing and grammar, I can not stress that enough. Either way I hope you enjoy]
