Three days later, the Council caved. Mio was allowed to bring two companions—but the invitation explicitly excluded Ethan and Rias, whom the Council feared most.
They didn't want the Red Dragon Emperor or the Gremory heiress poking around while they committed treason. Ethan didn't care. He had his own ways of getting in.
Mio chose Shella and Lucia to accompany her. Shella was a master of teleportation and knew the city well, while Lucia was a former head maid and secretary for Ramsas, perfect for handling formal social cues.
In the drawing room, Mio held a sleek black cat in her arms.
"Lady Mio, this cat is..." the messenger maid asked.
"My pet," Mio snapped. "Is there a problem?"
The maid hesitated. She had orders to ensure Mio brought no hidden protection. She checked the cat three times, even using magic to scan it. She found nothing. Little did she know that Ethan's "Nekomata" transformation was now God-tier. Not only did he keep his full power, but he was completely undetectable even to other deities.
The maid even ended up petting the "cat," which purred and rubbed its head against her large breasts, its paws kneading her cleavage.
"If he doesn't want to get down, you just carry him," Mio said, mentally rolling her eyes at Ethan's constant horniness.
As they stepped into the teleportation circle, a dark room in the Demon King City was filled with purple mist. Belgos, an elder devil who had inherited the "pleasure pits" of the late Zolgear, was informed of Mio's arrival.
Belgos was a monster. He squeezed the breast of a sexy female devil so hard she screamed and died as he drained her life force and memories. Around him lay the corpses of half-naked women, their bodies used as "disposable furnaces" for his power.
"I wonder..." Belgos hissed with a purple-black tongue. "How delicious will the memories and emotions of the former Demon King's daughter taste?"
Ethan, currently nestled in Shella's cleavage as a cat, arrived in the city. Unlike Sirzechs's isolated fortress, Leohart's Demon King City was a true metropolis, designed like a concentric circle.
The inner circle was the Demon King's palace. The second was the noble district. The third was the wealthy merchant district. Everything else was for the commoners.
Ethan looked around from his cozy spot. He didn't know someone was already planning to die by his hand, but he was ready. He was here for the "Princess," but he was also here for the legendary beauties hidden in this city—Sephiroth, the sister of the former Demon King, and a certain "retrograde" devil girl he had heard rumors about.
The hunt was on.
