The car ride was quiet.
Too quiet.
Anna sat by the window, her gaze fixed outside as the world blurred past her. The sky had turned a dull gray, clouds hanging low as if they carried something heavy within them.
A funeral.
She didn't know why—but something about it felt… wrong.
Her fingers curled slightly in her lap.
Raiden...
The name echoed faintly in her mind, unfamiliar yet strangely unsettling.
—
The mansion was enormous.
Black cars lined the entrance, people dressed in dark colors moving in and out like shadows. The air itself felt heavy, suffocating—filled with murmurs, whispers, and grief that didn't quite feel real.
Anna stepped out of the car slowly.
Her eyes scanned everything.
The guards.
The guests.
The silence between conversations.
Something wasn't right.
—
Inside, the atmosphere was even worse.
Soft sobs echoed from somewhere far away. Women dabbed at their eyes with tissues, men spoke in hushed tones, their expressions solemn—but not all of them looked sad.
Some looked… tense.
Watching.
Waiting.
Anna stayed close to her mother, greeting people politely when needed. Names were introduced, condolences exchanged—but none of it truly reached her.
Her mind was elsewhere.
Her eyes wandered.
Searching.
For what?
She didn't know.
"Stay here for a bit," her mother said softly before walking away with her stepfather.
Anna nodded.
Left alone, she exhaled slowly.
Her gaze drifted across the hall—
And then—
She noticed something.
A faint disturbance.
People weren't just mourning.
They were… glancing upward.
Subtly.
Repeatedly.
Toward the upper floor.
Anna's brows furrowed.
What are they looking for ?
—
Outside the moonlight was falling on the trimed grasses—everything perfect even the waterfall was looking enchanting but the water was silent even though it was on move.
She moved—
towards the garden and look down the water , soft cold winds brushing to her delicate skin .
As she looked up on the balcony
She froze.
—
The balcony doors were open.
Cold air drifted in, carrying with it a metallic scent.
Blood.
—
Her eyes widened.
William stood below.
Or rather—
He barely stood.
His body leaned against the railing, his hand gripping it tightly as blood dripped from his nose, staining his lips, his chin… his shirt.
His expression was dark.
Furious.
And yet—
There was something else.
Shock.
—
And then—
Anna's gaze lifted.
Slowly.
—
He stood there.
On the balcony above.
Tall.
Still.
Untouchable.
Arin.
His fist was stained red.
Drops of blood slid down his knuckles, falling silently onto the marble floor beneath him.
His face was calm.
Too calm.
Not a hint of panic.
Not a trace of guilt.
Only cold, quiet control.
The air between them felt dangerous.
Like something invisible had snapped.
Anna's breath hitched.
Her heart slammed violently against her chest.
No…
No, this—
This wasn't just Arin.
—
That presence.
That aura.
That feeling that made her chest tighten, her soul tremble—
Shou.
Her eyes widened in pure shock.
It's him
It's really him .
Same as shou told me
—
Memories surged violently within her.
The wind.
The past.
The man who had once stood above everything—
The man who had ruined alot of things and saved her everytime.
—
And now—
He was here.
Alive.
Real.
Standing right in front of her.
Anna took a step back, her breath unsteady.
This...this is wrong .
This isn't supposed to happen like this right ?or it did ?
—
Her mind raced.
Faster.
Until—
It hit her.
Tonight
Her eyes snapped back to him.
Fear crept into her veins.
—
This is the night.
