Chapter 196 - The Genius of the Hyuga, Rotation!

With Team 7 officially established, Hyuga Shinichi found himself dedicating a portion of his focus to tracking their growth.

In a sense, the gears of this world turned around the ancestral chakra of Ashura and Indra. The destinies of Naruto and Sasuke were the axis upon which the fate of the entire shinobi world spun.

Their importance could not be overstated. By keeping a close eye on them, Shinichi could plan for the future, adjusting his own moves as their paths diverged from the "history" he once knew.

But there was another reason for his vigilance: Hyuga Hinata.

As his own sister, she deserved his attention. Shinichi had realized that her talent was far greater than he had originally anticipated, and that talent was a potential pillar for the Hyuga clan. More importantly, only through strength could Hinata truly control her own fate.

Shinichi didn't want to see her become a mere footnote in Naruto's story or a quiet housewife. He wanted her to have a life of her own, full of color and agency.

Of course, if her ultimate dream was to be the woman behind the Hokage, he wouldn't stop her. As long as it was her choice and she lived without regret, that was enough. But Shinichi wanted to ensure she had the right to choose—and that right was always born from power.

The Tactical Deficit

Evening fell, the sunset staining the clouds a deep, bloody crimson.

At the gates of the Hyuga estate, Hinata waved a lingering goodbye to Naruto before stepping inside. It was the second day of Team 7's existence. After the morning's test, the trio hadn't simply gone home; they had spent the afternoon sparring and learning each other's rhythms.

They had grown up together, but true combat familiarity was another matter. Naruto and Hinata knew each other well, as did Naruto and Sasuke, but the link between Hinata and Sasuke was weak. They spent hours trading blows, trying to map out a strategy for the future.

They quickly discovered a glaring problem: The Team 7 Composition.

Naruto favored Shadow Clones and close-range Wind Style. Hinata's entire arsenal was built on the Gentle Fist—purely melee. Sasuke, while skilled in shuriken and Fire Style, also preferred getting up close and personal. They were a team of "brawlers."

On a standard escort mission, this was a liability. If they were surrounded or faced a long-range specialist, they lacked a solid defensive wall to protect themselves or a client. They were young and proud; they didn't want to rely on Kakashi for everything. They wanted to be a self-sufficient unit.

Hinata, being a Hyuga, knew exactly where the solution lay.

The Request

Creak.

The door to Shinichi's study pushed open. Hinata peered around the frame, her head popping in. "Brother? Are you in?"

It was a redundant question for someone with the Byakugan, but habit died hard. Shinichi looked up from his desk and smiled. "What is it? Do you need something?"

Hinata had matured early; she had stopped pestering him years ago. In her world, Naruto probably occupied the top spot, leaving him—her brother—somewhere in the second tier of her priorities.

Hinata didn't answer immediately. She checked the hallway to ensure they were alone before stepping inside with a solemn expression.

"Brother, I have a request. I want to learn the secret technique: Rotation (Kaiten)."

Shinichi met her serious gaze. He could see the fire in her eyes. She wanted this not for herself, but for Team 7. She wanted to be the shield that covered their collective weakness.

"Rotation?" Shinichi mused. He hadn't been watching them that afternoon, but he admired her initiative. "Rotation is a difficult technique, and it doesn't traditionally suit your fighting style. Why the sudden interest?"

"It's for Team 7," Hinata replied firmly. "Naruto and Sasuke have no defensive jutsu. It's our greatest flaw. I want to fix that. I want us to be the strongest Genin team in Konoha."

The old Hinata—hesitant and soft—was gone. This Hinata knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to ask for the "Main House" secrets, despite knowing the clan's rigid traditions.

Fate and the Tenseigan

"A strong reason," Shinichi noted. "Your team... Team 7. Do you have a mission coming up soon?"

He was curious. In the original timeline, their first real hurdle was an escort mission to the Land of Waves—a mission that introduced them to Zabuza Momochi and Haku. That mission defined them; it taught them about the cruelty of the world and the weight of "bonds."

Shinichi wondered if this new Team 7 would still walk that path. Without the Nine-Tails' chakra, would Naruto still be able to protect them? Haku was a genius whose speed sat firmly in the Jōnin tier. If Hinata learned Rotation, however... she would be the perfect counter to Haku's needle-based attacks.

Destiny has a strange way of balancing things, Shinichi thought.

"No mission yet," Hinata answered. "We just realized the weakness today."

Shinichi nodded. If she learned Rotation, it would be a vital life-saving tool. "Very well. Do you want me to teach you, or do you want to study the scroll yourself?"

Shinichi's Tenseigan hummed with a faint light. Suddenly, a scroll on a far shelf trembled and took flight. Under Hinata's wide-eyed gaze, it drifted across the room and settled into Shinichi's hand.

"!!!"

Hinata gasped. She had lived with her brother for years, but she still felt like she didn't know the extent of his power. The Hyuga were masters of the Byakugan and Gentle Fist—she had never heard of a technique that allowed for telekinesis.

"Brother... how did you do that?"

"It's just a matter of controlling chakra and ocular power to a certain degree," Shinichi said dismissively. "Nothing special. Now, back to my question: do you want to figure it out yourself, or should I guide you? I'm busy with clan affairs, but I can make time for you."

Hinata straightened her back, her face full of a newfound independence. "No. I want to try it myself first. I don't want to waste your time. I can learn this!"

"Fair enough." Shinichi flicked his wrist, and the scroll drifted into her arms.

"Thank you, Brother!" Hinata clutched the scroll to her chest and hurried out. She was in a race against time to help her teammates.

The Secret Hand

Shinichi watched her retreating back. "Now we see if her talent is truly as great as it seems."

Rotation wasn't a move you could learn just by reading. Even with a teacher, many failed because the chakra control required was absurd.

Hinata went straight to the dojo. She was in a state of high motivation, hoping to master it in one go. To her, it seemed simple: spin the body and release chakra from every pore.

But the reality was a wall of pain.

By sunset, she was exhausted. She had failed repeatedly, her balance failing as her chakra output fluctuated. She hit the floor again and again, her eyes filled with stubborn defiance. Each bruise was a lesson.

Shinichi watched from afar. Blind practice will only lead to injury. She needs to feel the 'flow'.

He released a pulse of his Tenseigan's power.

In the dojo, Hinata was spinning again. Her chakra wall was wobbling, and she was about to lose her footing. Suddenly, an invisible, stabilizing pressure clamped down on the air around her. The chaotic chakra smoothed out, forming a perfect, shimmering dome of force.

Hinata's eyes narrowed. She felt it—the perfect equilibrium. The wobbling stopped. She was rotating perfectly.

She slowed down, breathing heavily, her mind desperately memorizing that feeling of success. She didn't know it was her brother's help; she only knew that she had finally touched the threshold of the "Heavenly Spin."
