Chapter 379 - Chapter 170: Harry, You're a Bit Too Extreme

If he hadn't visited Hogwarts a hundred years ago, he might still have such thoughts.

But now he just found it a bit dull.

He opened Pabi's letter and the gift Pabi sent him.

Dear Harry:

I feel sad because you didn't take me along to find Cassandra. You betrayed our agreement, which makes me unhappy.

But I'm not that unhappy, really, because it's your birthday now. I'm planning to hold a small party for you—if you could come to Professor Scamander's little tent and celebrate with me, I would be very happy.

Enclosed are some materials from magical creatures, all gifted by Newt to me. I hope you like them.

By the way, we've found the Eight-eyed Giant Spiders in the Forbidden Forest. You wouldn't believe it, there must be... I think there are ten thousand of them, but Newt says there are more. My goodness, swarming spiders, even bigger and sturdier than unicorns. I really don't know how wizards should deal with them when they encounter them.

Two Eight-eyed Giant Spiders tried to attack us, but Newt subdued them. He captured one and used a Door Key to quickly escape with me—if we hadn't done so, we might have been torn apart by the overwhelming number of spiders.

Who could imagine that just a few decades ago, these spiders were merely two individuals, a male and a female?

If you could come here, I'd be very happy. Remember to let me know in advance.

Loyal to you,

Pabi Swedding

Harry opened Pabi's package, and out tumbled a heap of materials from magical creatures. There was Moonstruck Beast's fur, Sniff's claws, unicorn hair, Phoenix tail feathers, Eight-eyed Giant Spider's venom, and a bunch of precious materials.

He seriously doubted if Pabi might have emptied Mr. Scamander's accumulated stocks over the years.

After opening Pabi's gift, Harry recalled the package from Ron, so he opened Ron's gift. It was a small spinning top that was said to glow when encountering unreliable people—but Harry found that once he took the top out, it spun rapidly as if in a frenzy.

Untrustworthy people?

Harry shrugged and set the spinning top aside.

Beside it was Hermione's letter and the birthday gift she sent Harry. Harry opened the letter, which roughly mentioned that Hermione was touring in France and had bought some gifts for him there.

Harry reached out to open the package and found a slender black leather box inside. The box had a line of silver letters: Flying Broom Repair Kit.

Inside was a large can of Fleetwood's High-Finish Broom Polish, a pair of silver-plated broom twig clippers, a small brass compass to attach to a flying broom for long-distance travel, and a "Broom Care Manual".

He really liked this gift and carefully placed it in the corner of his wallet, separated from Alfonso.

Alfonso was napping in the wallet, looking quite comfortable.

After finishing unwrapping all the gifts, Harry stretched and turned his head to find Vivi smiling at him.

"Vivi?" he exclaimed joyfully. "When did you get here?"

"I've been here for a while," Vivi said with a cheerful smile.

A while?

Harry froze momentarily and glanced at the spinning top on the table with his peripheral vision, noticing that it was spinning madly and buzzing.

It seems this top is indeed broken, he thought indifferently.

"Happy birthday," Vivi said with a smile. "Have you decided on what you'd like to do? Like… maybe we could go out for a meal?"

"Pabi invited me to Professor Scamander's tent. She said she wants to hold a birthday party for me. Would you like to come along?" Harry proposed.

Vivi suddenly became alert.

"Okay, I'll go with you," she said, pulling an apple from her pocket.

Harry eyed the apple with interest and asked, "What's that? An apple?"

Vivi grasped Harry's shoulder with one hand, speaking persuasively: "This is the Forbidden Fruit—you know, the very one Satan used to tempt Eve to fall… Now I'm giving it to you."

"I see, Auntie Vivi," Harry squinted as he said, "So you want to tempt your nephew to fall, my goodness…"

Vivi was speechless.

Today truly felt like shooting herself in the foot, she thought.

In hindsight, she shouldn't have brought up the aunt thing. It seemed Harry hadn't forgotten about that.

She tucked the apple into Harry's arms and said, "Let's go, we'll head downstairs and then from the Broken Cauldron Bar to Newt's tent."

With that said, she pulled Harry along down the stairs.

"Not staying for a meal, Miss Grindelwald?" Penny asked.

"No, Penny," Vivi replied with a smile. "My friends are still waiting for him, thank you, Penny."

With that, the two left the Dursley family home and got into Vivi's car.

Yes, Vivi's car.

"Did you buy this?" Harry asked, somewhat surprised. "Wait, when did you learn to drive?"

"Otto gave it to me," Vivi explained the whole backstory to Harry, and assured him, "Don't worry, it was just an exchange of interests… I gave him two baby blankets his dad used back in the day."

Harry imagined a seventeen-year-old girl holding a baby blanket, telling a seventy or eighty-year-old man, "This is the baby blanket your dad used back then"…
