Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: The Strategic Draw

Su Yi looked at Jane beside him, who was finally beginning to relax after their long, intense conversation. It was still early morning, and the world outside the hotel room was quiet. Since he had time and a massive, newly acquired bank of Fate Points, Su Yi decided to execute his new investment strategy immediately.

He wouldn't waste time with ten consecutive draws; he was going straight for the highest efficiency.

"System, 100 consecutive draws!"

"System, block the notifications. I'll look through them myself. Just compile the results list for me."

The command was issued, and the digital counter in Su Yi's mind instantly reduced his formidable Fate Point total by 1,000,000. The air around him shimmered subtly—a sensation only he could perceive—as a torrent of virtual items, abilities, and systemic functions were generated and sorted by the Destiny Evolution System.

His demands were pragmatic: at least three truly practical items. Preferably, he wanted to obtain special items that could be easily distributed to his allies. Only then could Su Yi receive the necessary feedback loops and turn this million-point investment into a huge profit. He was no longer a cautious survivor; he was a strategic investor in the cosmic market.

"Let's look at the special items first. They are the easiest to distribute," he thought, scrolling through the extensive list.

The sheer volume was overwhelming, and most of it was, predictably, virtual garbage.

"Dark matter detector (90s era), useless. The Marvel Universe doesn't play with this kind of tech. Trash!"

"Dehydrated space rations, waste!"

"An unfinished manuscript for a cyclotron accelerator, useless stuff for me, maybe a slight boost to Intelligence for a civilian... but hardly worth the effort."

"A dozen alien currency bars... useless, unless I want to buy a used Kree ship."

After quickly filtering through the noise, Su Yi found two genuinely good items that justified the initial outlay.

The first was another of the J-Team's Talismans. This time, he drew the Snake Talisman, which granted Invisibility. This was definitely a very practical, high-value ability for an agent like Natasha Romanoff. It offered a tactical advantage far beyond anything S.H.I.E.L.D. could procure.

"A perfect item. I can give it to Natasha," Su Yi decided, a plan already forming. He was determined to help Natasha collect all 12 Talismans. By the time she acquired them, her diverse set of powers would make her a world-class powerhouse, well beyond the capability of any ordinary Avenger, and the accumulated Fate Points would be staggering.

The second useful item was the Fire Spirit Orb. This Orb granted the powerful ability to control Fire and total immunity to Fire damage. Su Yi quickly tested its inherent energy and found it potent, capable of generating plasma-level heat.

"Who should I give this Fire Spirit Orb to?" he mused.

Natasha? Getting her 12 Talismans is priority number one. Adding an orb complicates the power profile.

Gwen Stacy? Her strength, combined with the symbiote, is already robust. Plus, fire is traditionally a weakness for symbiotes; introducing this might have a strange, unintended effect.

Wanda Maximoff? This Fire Orb isn't very useful for her; her chaos magic is far superior.

The others might not even want to be Superheroes.

"Oh, right, there's Yelena Belova and Sharon Carter," Su Yi realized. "A perfect counter-balancing power for Yelena, or perhaps a tactical advantage for Sharon in a more open conflict. I'll put it aside and distribute it later."

Giving out these two items—the Snake Talisman and the Fire Spirit Orb—should easily earn him a substantial chunk of Fate Points upon distribution.

"Conservatively, 400,000 Fate Points is definitely there, possibly more. I still need 600,000 more just to break even on the initial investment," Su Yi calculated. He couldn't help but feel a little disheartened; the bulk of the haul was still trash.

"Now, I can only see if I got anything truly good from the Special Abilities."

The lottery had generated a total of six new Special Abilities, which Su Yi could instantly integrate:

Qilin Arm (Passive): After fusing with the arm, the arm can exert 7 times its strength (increases with strength level).

Su Yi instantly felt a profound, contained power centered in his right arm. At his current Lv7 Strength (100,000 tons), this multiplier instantly boosted his focused striking power to a staggering 700,000 tons.

This was no longer a "chicken rib" ability; it was a devastating weapon that allowed him to punch far outside his weight class, guaranteeing a one-hit knockout for almost any terrestrial opponent, save for the strongest heavy hitters like the Hulk.

Mental Perception (Passive): Can perceive mental and emotional fluctuations within a certain, defined range.

One word: Weak. Su Yi's Enhanced Hearing was already sufficient for tactical awareness, and this ability only allowed him to sense strong emotions (fear, rage, joy) but not thoughts or complex intent. Compared to Professor X or Phoenix's telepathy, it was far inferior. Its only value was as a basic emotional lie detector.

Teleportation (Enhanced) (Active): Enhanced Teleportation can cross cosmic distances and intergalactic voids.

"So, the Teleportation I used before was an incomplete version?" Su Yi realized. His previous ability was limited to traversing planetary distances within the same stellar system.

This new version shattered that constraint, allowing him to potentially jump from the Marvel Milky Way to the Andromeda Galaxy. This ability was essential for future cosmic adventures and truly confirmed his readiness to become a cosmic player.

Penance Stare (Active):One of the core abilities of the Ghost Rider. The Host forces the target to experience the pain and suffering they have inflicted upon others, often resulting in death or madness.

Finally, there was a usable, truly powerful ability. This ability, a direct attack on the soul and consciousness, bypassed nearly all physical defenses. This was a critical tool against powerful beings who relied on durability, like the Hulk or potentially even a celestial. It was an offensive and functional ability that would certainly change the dynamic of any high-tier fight.

Radiation Immunity (Passive): Immune to all forms of radiation damage (Solar radiation, nuclear radiation, gamma radiation, cosmic rays, etc.).

An excellent defensive ability. This eliminated the risk of common, world-breaking hazards, especially important in a universe filled with nuclear weapons and gamma-fueled monsters.

Energy Barrier (Active): Unleash and project energy to form a rigid, defensive barrier.

A reliable, functional defensive layer. Useful for protecting civilians, vehicles, or himself from sudden, focused attacks without relying on his own physical durability.

The six abilities, while mostly defensive or narrowly situational, contained two game-changers: the Penance Stare and the Enhanced Teleportation. The investment in abilities alone was a success.

Su Yi now turned his attention to the five System items, the rarest and often most powerful tier of the lottery.

He looked at the list, and his eyes were instantly drawn to one in particular, causing a rush of adrenaline.

World Travel Card (One-Time, Including Round Trip): Can randomly travel to another World once, lasting for one month.

Going to another World filled Su Yi with anticipation. This was the ultimate destiny-shattering tool, an opportunity to gain access to unique resources, powers, and characters outside of the existing Marvel framework.

"System, can I also earn Fate Points in other Worlds?"

[Yes! Host can earn Fate Points by influencing the destiny of other Worlds.]

Su Yi was already eager to cause some trouble and profit in other worlds.

But soon, Su Yi calmed down, his Lv7 Intelligence overriding his excitement. His current strength, while immense, couldn't be considered invincible everywhere.

The DC universe, for instance, had figures like The Flash, who was faster than his Mach 30, and Superman, who was near-invincible in all aspects. Besides that, there were entities like The Presence (God), whose omniscient and omnipotent nature made Su Yi feel a profound hesitation.

"Perhaps I should wait until all my abilities are upgraded to Lv10 before I truly go wild in another reality. Lv7 is strong, but not enough to challenge a multi-universal threat," he decided. He would deal with the current matters first, establish his base in the Marvel Universe, and then embark on cross-dimensional tourism.

He checked the system's official selling price for this item: 300 million Fate Points.

"I made a profit, a massive profit! This one card alone is 300 times the cost of the entire draw!" Su Yi was elated. He turned his attention to the other four System items, knowing that even if they were all garbage, the hundred-draw was already an undeniable success.

2x Destiny Card:Deposit Fate Points. After 2 months, you can receive 2x Fate Points, plus extra rewards.

Su Yi saw that with the 2x Destiny Card, the more he deposited, the more he would gain, and the extra rewards would be more generous. If he deposited 1 million Fate Points, after 2 months, he would receive 2 million Fate Points and an additional 1-3 ordinary lottery chances. This was an excellent long-term investment.

"Should I deposit now?" Su Yi hesitated, then shook his head. "No. I plan to use the next few items to generate a large cash infusion. I need to deposit the full 2 million remaining points, or more, to maximize the return." He temporarily put the card aside.

There were three more items:

(Choose One)

Summoning Card:Randomly presents three characters from other Worlds; the host can choose one to summon to this World.

If it could summon a powerful character—an ally, a mentor, or even a formidable foe to defeat—that would naturally be the best way to introduce new variables into the Marvel Universe, guaranteeing future Fate Point events.

Challenge Card: Select a target; defeating the target can earn Destiny Points.

Rewards would be calculated based on the target's strength and influence. Su Yi already had a perfect target: Thor. Defeating the God of Thunder, especially after he's been stripped of his power, should yield a good return while simultaneously serving his goal of intercepting the hammer. This card was an open invitation to an easy 500,000+ Fate Points.

Discount Store Refresh Coupon * 2: Refreshes the Discount Store.

A minor but useful item. A fresh batch of discounted goods could always be useful for stocking up on Talismans or other cheap enhancement items.

Su Yi finally allowed himself a satisfied smile. The special items and special abilities were solid, but the System items were the true jackpot, fundamentally altering his strategic outlook.

"System, with this World Travel Card, do I have to travel immediately after using it to determine the target World?"

[The Host can first use the Travel Card to randomly determine the target World. Whether to travel is up to the Host to decide. There is no time limit! Only after the Host chooses to travel will the Host be limited to staying in the other World for one month.]

"I see. I can safely choose the World first, prepare, and then go when I'm ready. So, let's see which World it will be!"

Su Yi activated the card, and the System performed the random calculation.

[Ding, the target World has been determined. The target World is The Boys TV series World!]

Su Yi blinked, a broad grin spreading across his face. "The Boys World? A world full of shallow, corporate-controlled 'Supes' who mostly rely on brute force and public relations? Where the most powerful entity is essentially a narcissistic, evil Superman clone? That sounds like a perfect, low-risk, high-reward vacation."

The world of Vought International was a perfect training ground for a Lv7 being. He could go there later, after dealing with Thor, and easily dominate the global market, expose Vought, and steal all their Compound V, which would certainly generate an astronomical amount of Fate Points.

"Not bad at all. I can go have some fun there later. For now, there's a blonde god about to fall out of the sky and a Challenge Card waiting to be used."
