— RazenHeir field army —
[Riflemen ~1000] conscripts carrying muskets, firing bullets enchanted with RazenHeir flame
[Knights ~50] Elite fighters, well armored with swords and larger-caliber muskets, sent against monsters that the infantry line cannot handle.
[Scouts ~200] Well-trained regulars, light enchanted armor to move quickly and quietly.
[Cannons ~ 30] Light field artillery for fighting in the open.
[Hikari] The Razenheir champion
Boom. Boom.
Cannon fire. Volleys of musket fire. The clankering of steel.
The dim evening light.
Hikari stood just behind the front lines.
Her full wyvern skin armor.
Her claymore strapped to her back.
Short sword and hand cannon on her belt.
Her arsenal of throwing weapons strapped onto her body.
The RazenHeir army moved in a sparse skirmishing formation.
A river was right up ahead.
The cultists had set up defenses to block their crossing.
Wooden barricades thick enough to block musket fire.
Boogie traps to slow their enemy's advance.
Boom.
The RazenHeir cannons fired.
A cannon hit the wall of a cannon position.
The cannonballs enchanted with RazenHeir flame lit the position.
The enemy returned fire.
It was difficult to hit the individual RazenHeir riflemen in the dim evening light.
They waited until the river forts burned.
Groups of engineers pushed forward floating platforms.
As they approached the river, volleys of musket bullets hit the front armour of the platform.
The engineers threw themselves flat on the ground to avoid the bullets.
The RazenHeir line returns fire.
Small sparks of RazenHeir flame.
The sides exchanged more volleys.
A musket shot blew off a splinter which stabbed a rifleman in the eye.
Small RazenHeir flames flared across the river.
The struck cultist riflemen rolled on the floor to douse the flames but found that they couldn't.
Some rushed to the river and jumped.
They drowned and burned in the cold water.
The floating platforms reached the river.
Five RazenHeir scouts on each platform.
They kept their head low behind the wooden barricade installed on the platform.
Sporadic musket fire was still coming from the cultist line being pummeled by the RazenHeir cannons.
They hurled their grapples onto the opposite bank and pulled.
The line of knights lined up behind, waiting for the scouts to
The engineers pushed the platform.
The rifle line behind continued firing volleys onto the other bank, covering their comrades as they crossed.
The scouts reached the other bank.
They fanned out, using the trees as cover.
A scout took a bullet straight to his chest, causing him to fall backwards into the river.
The other scouts pressed on.
Musket fire in the forest.
The second wave of platforms reached the other bank.
Riflemen reinforcing the scouts.
The RazenHeir force was beginning to gain a foothold.
Hikari marched forward.
She could see the constant sparks of muzzle flare on the other bank as small skirmishes broke out.
A row of knights boarded the platforms.
Hikari suddenly clutched her claymore.
She hears a silent horn and tells the scoutmaster riding beside her.
The scoutmaster without her level of hearing, looks at her.
He understands and barks orders to the signaller.
The RazenHeir knights saw the signal from behind and drew their swords.
Their enchanted swords flared with RazenHeir flame.
Flesh abominations unburied themselves in the thick of the RazenHeir formation.
They thrust their blades into the abominations and quickly backed off.
The riflemen and scouts loaded their enchanted ammo and fired.
The knights drove their flaming swords through the abominations and backed off.
The flames ate away at the slow, lumbering flesh abominations.
The sound of the eerie horn.
Hikari was ready to charge.
The RazenHeir commander stopped her.
Tall pillars of vines sprang from the ground.
The RazenHeir formation fired their enchanted shots, setting the vines alight.
The vines wrapped around the riflemen, who were not nimble enough to escape.
Flesh golems emerged and charged towards the bank.
A volley of musket fire from the other bank pelted the RazenHeir positions.
The RazenHeir cannons opened fire.
The golems' flesh burned with RazenHeir flame.
The riverbank was illuminated by the lumbering torches of RazenHeir flame as the evening light dimmed.
The golems thrashed around.
The RazenHeir scout scattered to avoid its mass, but some were nonetheless crushed by the golem's fists.
The vines on their back wilted as it burned.
The loud sound of a horn.
The maniacal screams of cultists charging from the flank.
Deformed flesh, weapons raised.
Flesh golems followed them.
The RazenHeir troops fired their muskets but did not have the numbers to stop the sheer mass of cultists.
They fell back, forming a bend to cushion the cultist charge.
The scout master turned to Hikari and nodded.
She drew her claymore and charged.
The hulk of steel flared with Brilliant RazenHeir flame.
Stomp! Her boots crushed cultists below them as they landed; the shockwave pushed away several others.
She bent her knees and swung her claymore in a low horizontal arc, releasing a wave of flame slicing through the cultist lines.
She unleashed her throwing daggers.
Their soft flesh and wooden shields could do nothing against her whirling steel.
The RazenHeir knights behind her hacked away as the remaining cultists sporadically changed the RazenHeir lines.
Golems appeared, slamming the ground with their massive fists.
Vines grew out of their back.
Volleys of Aether flame converge on Hikari.
She sidesteps the volley and charges into the gap behind the golems.
Her claymore flared with RazenHeir flame.
Before the lumber golems could turn, she anchored her boot in a sharp change and drove her sword through the back of the golem.
The golem roared in agony and thrashed about as the flames consumed it.
She charged the next golem, her boot crushing cultists beneath them as she ran.
She dives in a zigzag path, dodging its aether flames and driving her claymore into its flesh as she rolls around its back.
A volley of aether flames barrels down on her from the distance.
She leaps high into the air towards the shaman.
Splat!
A rain of daggers impaled the ones that escaped her weight.
She was deep in the cultists' lines.
Assassins surrounded her.
She released her daggers in a whirling steel.
The cultists' assassins used their magical devices to phase through the whirling steel, only to meet their end at the edge of Hikari's claymore.
The RazenHeir knights catch up to her, cleaving through the remaining cultists.
The survivors broke and ran.
