Ten years later.
The sky of the Purgatory Sulfur Plane has changed.
Though the gray-red hue remains, it's no longer the oppressively stifling atmosphere it once was.
The heavens have lifted, and the clouds have thickened.
In the distance, the volcanic craters still emit smoke, but the wind disperses these clouds halfway up, no longer lingering as before.
Jeming stood outside the laboratory, glanced up for a moment, then turned and entered the Teleportation Array.
As the light faded, he appeared on an observation platform at the plane's edge.
The platform floated in the void, beneath it, the eternal twisting colors of the Chaotic Void, and behind him, the slowly expanding boundary of the Purgatory Sulfur Plane.
A gray-robed engineering manager was already waiting there, holding a data tablet, and promptly approached upon seeing Jeming.
"Honorable Jeming," the manager greeted respectfully, "the preliminary phase of the plane fusion has been completed."
