Chapter 22: Ethan POV - Cousins day out
Ethan's P.O.V.
I just finished talking to Maddie on facetime and said good night to her but I just can't fall asleep. I am so overwhelmed with what happened tonight. It's more like I can't believe that it just happened. I want to spend the whole day with her tomorrow. Heck, I want to spend the whole weekend with her if possible. Unfortunately, she already had plans with Chloe and Jas is dragging me again to the mall to go shopping.
After a few hours, I finally fell asleep.
```
It was a stormy night. Everyone was asleep except the little girl who was scared of the loud wind and lightning on top of heavy rains. The little boy got out of his bed and went over to the little girls' room. He found her quietly crying under her covers. He got under the covers and took the little girl in his arms.
"Sssshhhh!! Don't cry now! It's okay. You are safe. I am here." the little boy ushered, assuring the little girl that she is safe in his arms.
The little girl stopped crying after some time. The little boy wiped away the tears on her face and hugged the little girl. He hugged her until they were both fast asleep.
I was walking over to the bed to get a closer look at the little boy's face. It was too dark in the room. The only light shining in the room was the lightning. The lightning stroke again and the little girl stirred in her sleep in the little boys' arms. I walked closer to see their faces. The little boy is...
```
"Get up, you lazy ass! The stores might run out of stocks for my sizes." Jas said, hitting my head with a pillow.
"Uuuuggghhhh!!! Really Jas? Leave me alone! I want to sleep." I whined pulling the covers over my head.
"No can do Couzy. Get up before I throw a bucket of ice cold water over you." she said, pulling my covers away from me.
"I hate you!" I said, dragging my body to get up.
"Love yah too Couzy!" she replied, leaving my room.
I sat on my bed for a few minutes, trying to recollect about the dream I had. I was so close to seeing who the little boy is until Jas came and ruined it for me. Since it was just a dream, I decided to just ignore it and check my phone. I wanted to scream so badly when I saw what time it was. Damn that girl! It was only 7:30 a.m. and the mall opens at 10 am.
I laid back down on my bed and sent Maddie a text.
~Good morning! :)
~Hope you had an amazing rest.
She replied a few minutes after.
~M:Morning!. Yup, I did what about you?
~E:It was great! By the way, what time are you heading to Chloe's house?
~M:Before lunch, maybe.....
~E:Can I give you a ride?
~M:Mom's actually dropping me off on the way to the grocery store.
~E:Cool.
~M:Sorry. By the way, what are you up to for today?
~E:Nah, it's fine. Ooooofffff!!!!! I'm stuck with Jasmine for the day. She is dragging me again to the mall because she needs a new wardrobe for the 100th time since she arrived. She takes forever shopping!!! Plus her closet is already full of clothes!! I don't understand why she needs that much clothes!?
~M:Hahaha! Don't worry, I don't understand as well. LOL! One of the reasons why Chloe always makes me get ready at her house when she throws a party.
~E:I wish I can spend the day with you. :(
~M:Monday is just around the corner. :)
~M:BRB Breakfast! :)
~E:Ok! Eat well! :)
I got out of bed and went straight to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and charged my phone before heading downstairs. Mom and Jas were already eating when I arrived in the dining room.
"Morning Mom!" I greeted, seating in my usual chair.
"Morning Honey." Mom replied.
"Dad already left for work?" I asked Mom while taking some pancakes and bacon.
"Yup! He had an emergency call." Mom replied.
Mom and Jas started talking about cosmetics and all those girly stuff. I excused myself after finishing my breakfast. I went back to my room and checked if Maddie replied to my message. I was kind of sad when I did not receive any texts, but then ignored it. Maybe she is getting ready to go to Chloe's house.
I was just about to turn on my T.V. when Jas opened the door.
"Let's go, Couzy! The mall is about to open." she said before heading downstairs.
I placed the remote on my table and grabbed my phone, earphones, wallet and car keys. I went straight to the garage to get my car. I drove out to the front and honked the horn to let Jas know we are ready to go. She got out of the front door, squealing like a child.
"I am so freaking excited!" she exclaimed.
"Jas, it's just a mall. I mean, why do you even need to buy new clothes when you just bought a bunch of clothes last week?" I said.
"Couzy, I have already worn half of them. The other half is too basic and I need to pair it with something else. Now do you see why I need to go shopping?" she replied, her hands doing like some juju stuff.
"And why do you need me to go with you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because, you have a car and you are a guy. I can't possibly carry all the stuff I am about to buy." she simply stated.
"You are lucky that you are my cousin."I replied.
We got in the mall, and she dragged me to the nearest store her eyes saw. I sat by one chair while she went all over the store looking for clothes that caught her eyes. I plugged my earphones and listened to music while browsing my Instagram. An hour later, we walk out of the store with five big bags in hand. We did the same routine to the next 10 stores we walked into.
"Jas, my hands can't possibly carry these until later. Can we at least bring them to the car and have lunch first before you shop nonstop again? Or you know what? Why not just buy the whole mall instead and make it your personal wardrobe?" I stated.
"Fine. Let's bring these bags to the car then grab lunch." she said before walking over to the elevator going to the parking lot.
I was thankful to have all those bags gone from my arms. We just went to like 10 stores and she already bought like 7 different shoes - all with heels. We had lunch at McDonalds. We sat at one corner while waiting for our food.
"So Couzy, what happened after I left you and Madison last night? Did you guys make up?" she asked.
"Yeah, we did. We talked and fixed the misunderstanding.
It's all good.Thanks, by the way." I replied.
"That is really great! So when will you ask her to be your girlfriend?" she asked.
I was about to reply when our order arrived. I took a sip from my drink before replying to her.
"We haven't dated yet. I can't just ask her to be my girlfriend right away you know." I started before taking a bite from my burger.
"Then ask her out, you dufus! A word of advice: don't wait until she stops waiting. Even if she did not say it in words - she likes you and you do too. So suck it up and ask her out already. What are you waiting for? Graduation?" she explained.
She gave one of her "looks" that says "Don't make me kick you in the ass". We ate in silence.
I checked my phone to see what time it is. I was silently hoping that Maddie sent me a message. I was sad when I did not see any text from her. I know she is with Chloe right now and it's their girls' time. I just wished I was spending today with her.
Jas noticed I was on my phone.
"Why don't you ask her out tomorrow?" she said.
I was surprised she suggested that because Sunday is Family day.
"Jas, tomorrow is Sunday. It's family day remember?" I replied.
"Well, you would never know until you try." she simply stated.
That actually gave me an idea.
"I have an idea. Do you think you can handle the rest of your shopping tasks all by yourself? I need to go somewhere." I asked.
She gave me one of her happy smiles and said, "Go ahead, Couzy. I will just take a cab on my way home. Go get your girl."
"Thanks, Couzy. Text me when you get home, okay?" I replied before leaving.
