Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3: Flashy Images

He was no one else but Kayo. His shirt's button popped out; his shirt began to flutter in the wild air. The air was coldly running past Kayo. He stood still, didn't react to the dead bodies near him. His eyes trembled; his eyes weren't in his control.

The Special Forces arrived. Muskan announced, "Attention! I repeat, attention! Otherwise, you will get shot!"

Kayo didn't understand that. He started walking forward; his steps were super strong. His footprints marked the road behind him.

Jein shouted, "Is he in his control? Is his mind in his control? What is he doing?"

Olympus replied, "Probably not! He is not in control; he lost his control over his mind."

Muskan yelled, "Shoot him!"

Pow! Pow! Bang! Bang! Pow!

The soldiers shot him. Kayo wasn't shaken a bit; he was still in that unstable state, began walking again. Crankkkkk! A bullet hit him in his head. An impulse ran from his head to his cerebrum. His neurons turned red—it was like a surge of electricity bursting inside his brain. His legs began to wobble, his unstable vision started vanishing, and he breathed heavily.

Black and white pictures appeared in his head. He lost control—totally.

His dad was talking with the crowd, then the Special Forces arrived. Rat-tat-rat! A soldier shot him on his right arm—blood flooded out. He suffered severe pain, held his arm; his blood was flooding continuously. His clothes were drenched in blood. He began running into the burning forest, leaving blooded footprints behind him. His mother, seeing this all from a distance, cried.

His brother screamed, "Ahhhhhhhhhh!! Arghhhh! Bhaiya, save meeee! Bhaiyaaaa!"

Kayo's mind filled with these images. He freaked out and screamed with all his might, "Arghhhh! Ahhh! Daddddd!"

He lost consciousness and Thudd! he fell on the ground. His body responsively changed back to Kayo's kid form—a thirteen-year-old kid. The energy that surrounded him also vanished somewhere.

Olympus thought, "What is it? Physical form, or did his body time-skip? No, no… it's probably a physical form."

Muskan shouted, "Yes! We did it, the monster is encountered. Bring the vehicle!"

Soon, a tanky prison vehicle came. Muskan shot Kayo with a stun gun on his arms and legs. Zap! He was then thrown into the cage. Olympus tried to stop but Jein pushed him and said, "Don't interfere with government, mister."

Police officials, firefighters, and ground mesh core controllers were rescuing people stuck in debris or helping them reach their destinations.

2 hours later

By dawn, the moon was already up in the sky; cold breezes were blowing. People from nearby areas were called—they all gathered in front of a pole.

A kid asked, "Mom, who is this kid hung on that pole?"

His mother replied, "He is the guilty person, kid. He is a monster who killed and destroyed the lab."

Kid asked, "Mom, so he will be executed?"

His mother replied, "Yes, my son. Criminals must be executed."

Chattering, chattering, chattering.

The leader coughed into the mic. Everyone paid attention to him. He announced, "Earthians! The person you see hanging up there is a criminal! He bombed a whole laboratory, killed many people! He is getting executed!"

"Executed!"

"Executed!"

"Executed!"

"Executed!"

The word itself echoed everywhere—even in his mind, in Kayo's mind.

Kayo opened his eyes somehow. "Executed…" he whispered slowly. Again, his cerebrum worked—he saw his dad running into the burning forest.

The head called, "Executioner, come!"

The executioner stepped forward. He began speaking, "I am Roman, the Executioner. My power is to execute people—or throw them into random realms with deadly creatures and beasts with real-world physics. I'm explaining this to you because to activate my powers, I need to tell someone about them."

The head fired a blazing arrow into the sky. Whoooosh! The Executioner opened all the portals. Kayo's chains opened with the head's telekinesis powers, and Kayo fell into the portal.

Dr. Olympus, struggling to walk and breathing harshly, reached the execution site—but he knew he was late. Kayo was executed.

He reached the Executioner and the head, asking while taking heavy breaths, "Sir… is that kid—the kid who was falsely found guilty—executed?"

Head: "Why falsely guilty? Yes, he is executed."

Dr.: "Sir, he wasn't responsible for that destruction; it was related to the Veil Phenomenon. Is there any way he can come out?"

Executioner: "Once he is thrown into the portal, he—or anyone—cannot return without defeating the King of the Realm he's thrown into. He is the strongest creature there."

Dr.: "Sir, I will prove that he was not guilty… and also find more people like him. Thank you."

Dr. Olympus left the place. The head called someone via cell phone, "Inform Special Forces to keep an eye on this Dr. Olympus."

Kayo was falling down the portal—it was completely dark. Only Kayo's eyes glowed, but soon they closed, and he lost consciousness.

It felt like he was falling from 2100 to 3100 kilometers.

THUUDD!

He fell hard on the ground. His body hit badly; blood poured from his mouth. Again, the feeling activated his cerebrum, and soon he suffered the same flashy images—him being killed, his dad running into the burning forest, his brother screaming for help, his mother crying—all flashing quickly, repeatedly.

Whufff! He breathed heavily.

He gained consciousness, tried to stand—but realized his left arm was totally paralyzed. Tears flooded out of his eyes; he was sad. He wiped them, getting ready to stand. He tried—but Thud! he fell down again.

He struggled, then stood up. He saw his hands—they were covered with blood. His blood. He screamed in fear.

His scream—born of fear—somehow invited a creature. It rose up from the ground.

Rumbleee... Crackkk!

It looked like a large mammoth—bulky and too large. Kayo saw it. His mind lost control; he wasn't able to process anything—just one thing.

Thump-thump! Thump-thump!

He began running away from the mammoth. Running, he turned his neck behind to check—and got relief. But when he turned his neck forward—he saw the mammoth running beside him!

Kayo was shocked. The mammoth hit him with its tusk. Wham! He lost control and fell to the ground, staggering backward, crashing hard. Thudd!

He realized, "I can't die—at least not this way… not this way! I need to find my dad, my brother. I can't die like this… not here!"

His blood poured out, but he stood up, grabbed an aluminum sheet lying nearby, and dashed toward the mammoth. Though trembling, blood dripping, clothes drenched in his blood—he didn't stop.

A voice came from behind, "Are you mad, kid? Stop dashing! You mad? You want to die?"

Kayo stopped right there.

Behind Kayo, a bandage was thrown toward the mammoth. It had a greenish aura all over its surface. Something was written on it—as it moved beside Kayo, he read it: 'Aham Balavan Asmi.'

(It means: I am strong.)

And in just two blows, the mammoth was taken out by the strange figure.

The mammoth's lying body released smoke—Shhhhh!—it spread everywhere. Yet, through the haze, Kayo saw a greenish aura surrounding a male figure standing in the smoke.

The figure spoke "Welcome to the park!"
