How did things came to this, I have no clue .
We were currently sitting on a breakfast table in the kitchen at my Hostel Room, who were we, um, that's wasn't clear to me, but currently there were 3 people sitting on the table, whether someone else will be joining us soon was still uncertain .
The three people consisted of me, Tokiko and Mari, how we came to be sitting here like this was a long but short story .
Tokiko came knocking on my door a few minutes before just as I was about to kiss Mari, which made me feel like I was getting caught while cheating, that was my honest feeling, then surprisingly, Mari as she preferred to be called offered to go and get the door open for Tokiko .
It was surprising to me because she was the one who told me to keep it secret from Tokiko in the first, so she offering to be opening the door was quite shocking, so I couldn't help but ask her about her intentions and reasons for doing that .
Her response was quite reasonable, she told me that since she was going to lay the truth bare in the evening anyway, it shouldn't matter much if she were to come clear with Tokiko now, so there should be no problem with her being the one to open the door .
I was unable to think of anything to refute her logic, but in the end, I decided to let her do it, she went and opened the door still having the apron on her formal attire, while smiling, her smile was quite sweet and welcoming as well, seeing her like this and already smelling the smell of gunpowder in the air, I couldn't help but wonder what else might be exposed on today's dinner, will I be able to survive it .
Tokiko :
What's the meaning of this, why are you here principal, where's Ryuu, why you are wearing an apron, am I in the right room ? .
I heard the questioning tone of voice that belonged to Tokiko as she was surprised to see the principal here and she couldn't help but loudly blurt all those questions at once, this was the first time the two had officially met, but even though I had spoken volumes about each one of them to the other one .
Only one of the two knew of the identity of the other, Regina know of who was Evelyn was in this life, but the same cannot be said about Evelyn, which gave Mari a slight advantage over Tokiko .
The girls were clashing with one another at the door, Tokiko's voice was quite loud, threatening to alert even the guards downstairs, not to mention the neighboring rooms, I wanted to ask her to lower her tone a little, but Mari had beat me to it, she said :
This was indeed Lucius's room, shouldn't it be better for us to continue our conversation inside, what do you say Evelyn-san ? .
The girl should have understood the implications behind those words, she directly went inside the room and I heard the sounds that the bag she came in with made, I was still a bit worried that the two might fell into a conflict with one another, so I get a change of clothes, grabbed my towel and went out to meet them .
What I feared didn't happen, the two were just standing there in the mini kitchen that was here and were looking silently at each other, one had a smile and the other had one big and clear deadpan expression on her face, seeing me Tokiko turned to look at me and said :
I had brought breakfast and thought that we might had breakfast together, but I didn't know that you have visitors, but the more company the merrier I guess, principal you are more than welcome to join us, if you wanted to .
Even though the tone was neither rude nor polite, I was still able to sense Tokiko's displeasure about the principal being here, so she must have been too stunned to completely understand what was going on here .
But before I even try to correct her and tell her to be better, Mari beat me to it first and said that she actually wanted to be joining us, displeasing the blue haired girl even more, but she just played alone and told the principal that she was more than welcome to join .
I sensing the discomfort and the the tensed situation between the two, I was about to clear the confusion here, but just as I wanted to say something, I got interrupted by Tokiko this time, telling me to go ahead and have a shower, while she finish setting everything here up for us .
I wanted to say something, anything but seeing the staring contest between the two and the invisible exchange of blows between the two, I couldn't help but find her suggestion quite reasonable and directly fled to the bathroom, hoping that I won't find anyone body laying around after I finished the shower .
I entered the shower and wondered about what could I be possibly able to do to make the two open up to one another, I washed up and put on my new set of clothes then got out of the shower, only to see that the table was set and the two of them were sitting on the table waiting for me to join them .
The scene was completely silent, between the two of them which gave me a slight eerie feeling, but in the end, I decided to follow their wishes and sat down on the front chair with each of them on one side of me .
Tokiko on the left while Mari on the right as I sat down, I noticed that Tokiko seemed to have really concerned herself with how to prepare a delicious and well packed breakfast .
I thanked her for the food and without missing a beat thanked Mari for the simple breakfast she made me as well, but Tokiko who had no clue about why I was thanking her for, ended up arching her brow at that .
That was how we ended up in the current situation, the reason I'm not cleared about whether or not more people will be joining us was because Tokiko said that Sophia wanted to come with her and even met her on her way here, but Tokiko was able to slip away while the girl was unaware .
Hearing this, I shook my head and understood that the girl might be landing here any moment now, I didn't hold anything against that girl, but her airheaded personality currently wasn't needed in this tensed situation, it was already problematic for me to deal with the the two girls in front of me, there was no need to add another active element to the fusion .
The two girls started to dig in their food, but Mari finished eating after 6 or 7 bites, she had already had sandwiches before, so she wasn't that hungry to began with, she was just trying to mess with the blue haired girl on my left side and I can tell that it was both working and seem to be quite effective .
After we finished the late breakfast, they helped with cleaning the table, then we sat on it again, stares were being stolen from the sides of the two girls at either one another or at me, but silence remained as before, just as I was about to say something to solve the tension in the air, Mari suddenly got up from her chair and she bowed her head down and said :
I'm thankful for you helping Lucius the way you did, thank you Evelyn-san .
As Mari finished saying this, the other girl was suddenly dumbstruck by the realization that hit her, she finally seemed to be beginning to understand what was going on here and her stern expression began to clear up, she finally realized thanks to the words of Mari, she finally realized the identity of the person in front of here .
Evelyn was aware of the existence of a special person who I hold dear and close to my heart, the first love and the person that loved directly before here, she was stunned at first, unable to comprehend what she should be doing in response to the woman who was bowing her head in front of her .
Couldn't help to find a way to respond, she turned her head to me as if confirming that what the woman was saying, was indeed the truth, I nodded my head at her and she nodded at me and said :
Regina-san, you don't have to do this, if anything, I would be the one who was thankful for you being the reason to me and Lucius meeting, so please raise your head .
Like a chain of reactions, the whole scene turned from chaotically silent to that of hysterical laughter as the two began to become engrossed on their own mind and all kinds of conversations with each other, laughter began to resonate between the two from time to time .
In an instant, the discomfort that the two was feeling before had completely vanished and instead they were began chatting non-stop with one another as if they were friends for who knows how long, that was a more than enough to satisfy me, seeing them getting along with one another and opening up to one another, washed all the ominous thoughts that were in my mind .
In a short period of time, their conversations covered years and even decades of our past lives, talking about all different kinds of topics without restraints, without noticing they even began to talk about some embarrassing things, that was beginning to make me the only one who was feeling uncomfortable here .
Some of the things that they were beginning to talk about were related to me, making my embarrassment skyrocketed through the roof, so wanting to change the topics of their conversation quickly, I decided to take advantage of the situation and ask them about something that was on my mind for some time now .
It was the question that Kushina-san asked me to confirm its answers from them, as I asked those guys about it, the two of them responded in unison, asking about who was the person who asked me this question .
" Can't I be the one who came up with such question ? .
Mari :
How to put it, knowing you, I'm somewhat certain that this question came from a woman, so I at least think, what are your opinions regarding this, Tokiko-san .
Tokiko :
I also agree with Mari-san, I too believe that I had known you for enough time to clearly understand that this question can't be one that you thought of .
For some reason, I felt like I was in a court room, those guys were the both the judge and the jury and I was left to fend for myself or I will be sentenced to death, I saw that they both asked the same question in unison, asking for the identity of the person who asked me this question .
Feeling that there wasn't much of an issue in telling them about my encounter with Kushina-san after filtering some of the details, after all, there were something that shouldn't be said as to keep the woman's face .
As I finished explaining everything that happened, Mari nodded at my explanation and fell into deep thought, while the other girl Tokiko directly said :
So that's why she looked at me weirdly when I was getting the food just now, she even gave me more food than I asked for and kept winking at me, so that what she was trying to say, was she really the one who asked you this question !!! .
I'm not sure why their reaction differed greatly, but after hearing Tokiko's words, I was beginning think that there might be a headache later, if that woman were to corner Haruka later on, hopefully that won't happen .
" I can swear if you want me too .
I wasn't questioning you, I was just astonished .
Tokiko then cleared my own confusion, as she said this, the one who finally had something to say with the girl that had fell into contemplation before, Mari said :
Ryuu-kun, could we both ask you something ? .
I looked at Tokiko and saw that had already allied themselves with one another and nodded my head, seeing me nodding, she said :
We want to ask about how would you like to describe Kushina-san and to what extent do you think yourself familiar with her ? .
As I first heard the first part of her question, I had already began to understand that something seemed to be seriously wrong here, but after I heard the second part, I was certain that the two guys in front of me seemed to have misunderstood something, I was about to clear something up when the two looked at me and said :
Answer our questions first please .
I was at loss of what to say, both of them should have been more familiar with her than I do, but now that I thought about it, it seemed that I had indeed gotten a lot closer to the said woman in these last few days .
I couldn't help myself and directly started saying whatever that came to mind, I told them how I view her as a good strong willed woman, she had quite good reputation around school .
But she had quite the bad luck with her romance life and that I might have made her wasted the opportunity of going into a date with my actions, the things I didn't want to share before spilled directly from my mouth without notice .
I saw that after I finished talking, the two of them looked at each other and seem to have come to some tactical agreement with one another, then the older between the two, Mari said :
You wouldn't happen to have her number with you at the moment, would you ? .
She said and gazed at me deeply as if trying to force an answer out of me, I had no clue about why were they reacting so weirdly, but not letting the misunderstanding from before to continue, I said :
" Well I do have it, but just to make everything clear and so that there won't be any room for a misunderstanding to happen, we have nothing between us .
Ummm × 2 .
That was all I got as a response from them, but still they insisted on getting that number, Tokiko saved it into her contact list, Mari told her to send it to her later, the two seemed to be in harmony with one another, too much harmony in fact that I was beginning to think that the two of them were lifelong friends .
