Sally's POV
My body won't stop trembling even with Sean's arms wrapped protectively around Warren and me. The soft blanket provides warmth, but nothing can quiet the violent shaking that courses through my limbs. Warren's tiny fingers grip my shirt desperately, his tear-stained face buried against my chest. Every time I close my eyes, I see him alone in those dark woods, so small and defenseless. The image twists my stomach into painful knots.
Behind us, the door groans open. I turn, expecting to see Karl's familiar face, but my breath stops completely.
Ajax stands in the doorway.
