I wake up the next morning and check my phone and see some texts from Nicole.
"Heyyy"
"What's up?"
"Did you ask your parents if you could come over?"
"Oh yeah they said I could, what time should I be there?"
"Hmmm maybe around three, gives me time to clean up the house, my parents are excited to meet you."
"Oh yeah? Sounds good I'll be there at three"
I put down my phone and then time stops, Buddy appears by my desk
"What's up Jay?"
"Damn man you can't be popping up randomly like that"
"Sorry but you had a good game last night, very impressed"
"Thanks man, you must've gave me some extra skill huh?"

"Really?"
"Yeah you had the talent, just didn't have the drive first time around"
"That.. makes total sense"
"Anyway I see you're getting ready to go to Nicole's."
"Oh yeah she invited me over"
"That's good"
"I got a question though"
"What's up?"
"You don't think it's weird that I could potentially date Nicole?"
"Hmmm I mean you guys are the same age right now"
"True but still"
"It's all up to you, if you feel weird don't push anything"
"Alright I won't"
"I'll let you get back to it then"
Buddy disappears and time goes back to normal again, my mom then walks in
"Hey what time am I taking you to Nicole's?"
"She said be there at three"
"Alright well shouldn't you be getting ready it's already almost one"
"Oh shit"
I get up and jump in the shower, then get a quick outfit ready, a white shirt, some black shorts and a pair of Jordan 11s. I hop in the car and my mom drives me over to Nicole's.
"Alright Jay, text me when you're ready to be picked up"
"Alright I will"
I get off the car and walk up to the door and ring the doorbell. Nicole opens the door and smiles when she's sees me
"Heyy!! Come in"
She walks me into the house and into the living room where her parents are
"Mom, Dad this is Jay"
"Nice to meet you Mr and Mrs Rios"
Her mom walks up and shakes my hand first
"It's nice to meet you Jay"
Then her dad
"I heard about your game last night from Nicole, I seen it in the paper too"
"I'm in the paper?"
"Yeah, it's pretty impressive Jay"
"Thank you sir, just trying my best"
"Alright dad you can talk about football later, you sure you don't want to know more about him personally"
Her mom looks at me
"So Jay, how old are you?"
"I'm fourteen"
"Wait… you're a freshman too?!?"
I laugh
"Yeah I am, I just worked out a lot and my family is pretty tall"
Nicole speaks up
"I told you we met in class mom"
"Yeah but I didn't picture him looking like this"
I look at her and think of something
"Uhh yeah I get that all the time"
Her dad then speaks up
"So Jay what are your plans for after high school?"
"Hmm I haven't really thought about it, it's still early but maybe do something with criminal justice"
"Nice sounds good. Any future in football?"
"I think there could be but anything could happen from now until senior year"
He nods and just stares at me until Nicole's mom speaks up
"Is there anything you cant eat Jay?"
"I'm not too picky ma'am"
"Alright well I was just thinking of ordering pizza if that's okay"
"That's perfect"
Jesus how long can I keep up this fake personality, her family seems like that stuck up type just by being here for thirty minutes. At this point I'm kinda glad i didn't go on a date with her before. Then her dad speaks up again
"So Jay what's your intentions with my daughter?"
"Excuse me sir?"
Then Nicole speaks up
"Dad! What's wrong with you?!"
"What I just want to know, I mean look at him, I can already tell he's one of those typical football players"
"No disrespect sir but what do you mean by that?"
"I've seen it before, you're just going to run through any girl you meet because you play football and how you look"
"That's not true"
"yeah sure it isn't. give it a few more games like last night and you'll see Nicole, the ego will go up"
"Dad!! Stop!"
"Umm yeah I think I'll just go"
I get up and walk out the house as her dad keeps spewing his bullshit, I text mom to pick me up as I start walking down the street when I hear Nicole
"Jay!! Wait!!"
"What?"
"I'm… sorry"
"Don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong"
"But my dad.."
"Yeah your dads a piece of shit"
"Jay?!?"
"What it's true, I barely meet him and starts talking shit about me"
I just laugh
"That's crazy, but it's alright he can just keep reading about me in the paper every Saturday"
"Jay…"
"Save it Nicole, I need that jersey back too"
She walks back to her house and a few minutes later she comes back with the jersey and tears in her eyes
"I'll see you Monday… maybe by then I'll be alright and maybe just be friends if anything"
She looks at me and just nods and walks back to her house, freezing mid way. Buddy appears
"Sheeesh that was rough!"
"You're fucking telling me… was he always like this"
"Yeah so I think you dodged a bullet back in the original timeline"
"Yeah I guess so, fuck him though. I should look up his wife if I choose to go back and fuck her then fuck his daughter"
"Whoa Jay relax, you're married in the original timeline"
"Oh yeah just got carried away"
"Anyways Jay, I can move time forward if you want"
"Wait really?"
"Yeah, if you want to speed up time I can do that"
"Thanks for telling me, I'm over here sitting through boring ass classes"
He laughs
"So you want to jump to Monday?"
"Yeah let's do it"
He claps and everything goes bright again, feeling that same feeling from the first time I went back in time. Man I guess everything ain't going to be perfect in this timeline…
