Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

I sighed wearily as I rested my head on the desk. Today was the first day of classes. My expectations, like those of all the students, had been betrayed; the teachers seemed to be far too permissive. The red-haired boy from yesterday was sleeping and snoring blatantly while we were still in class. He clearly had no academic ambition whatsoever.

Like him, there were many other students. The girls didn't

stop talking about cute boys and makeup; the boys mostly talked about video games and lewd things.

There were a few students who apparently did know how to behave, but they were so irrelevant that I won't name any of them.

"Want some, senpai?"

Umm...

I tilted my head curiously and turned to look at my neighbor.

Nanase was smiling kindly as she offered me some food. She had brought her own bento. I hadn't expected her to know how to cook. I guess that's another thing I can learn from her

Sure, I'll try some. - I decided to give it a chance. I opened

my mouth slowly and closed my eyes, hoping the food would

settle in my mouth calmly. However, after a few

seconds, all I could taste on my palate was the flavor of

the translucent saliva accumulating

I opened my eyes to find a strange scene. Although she had a piece of fried chicken on her chopsticks and seemed ready to give it to me, her face was a total sight to behold: of course, it goes without saying that she was very embarrassed by the massive redness on her face.

I didn't understand the reason for this.

What's wrong?

I asked. Nanase was unable to answer properly, and the only thing that came out of her mouth was an adorable stutter.

"I see, so you changed your mind. Okay, enjoy your food, I guess."

I have to admit, it was a big blow to my ego, but I won't let myself be humiliated like this again.

"It's not like that..."

She muttered.

"It's okay, you don't have to oblige—"

"Open your mouth, senpai!"

I was interrupted. Nanase mustered up enough courage, apparently; she's a strange girl. With nothing to lose, I decided to trust her again

-Ah...- I opened my mouth as I rested my chin on my right hand. Nanase gently pushed the chopsticks in and fed me.

I closed my mouth, chewed, and swallowed.

-Delicious?

Nanase asks as she tilts her head and gives me a shy smile.

Yes, it is.

The girl's cheeks burned a flush of red and she giggled happily.

Lucky bastard...

She should be feeding me!

It seems some of my classmates were aware of this scene. I turned to look at them and gave them a smug look; I knew why they were jealous. Not everyone can have a cute girl to feed them, my deepest condolences, gentlemen.

Just kidding.

I know what this means. Normally, you wouldn't feed someone if you weren't especially close to them; it's often seen as very bold and something only lovers do.

I can't blame my classmates if from now on they don't start seeing us as a romantic couple or lovebirds, even if it's a bit premature, given that we only met yesterday

Rumors will start to spread, but it's not my fault

I can't blame my classmates if from now on they start seeing us as a sentimental couple or as two lovebirds, even if it's a bit rushed, given that we met yesterday.

The rumors will start to spread, but it's not my fault.

I'm just enjoying my happy and perverse school life.

Late in the afternoon, a club fair was taking place. Nanase agreed to meet me at the gym to explore a bit; she should be here by now. It's strange, I've lived and interacted with her very frequently since the entrance ceremony. She seems like a good girl, it's not like I have much to say about her with only one day of communication.

So, I'll do a superficial analysis.

Nanase is a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, with an angelic face and a specially endowed body. In a few words, she is exaggeratedly attractive, that fact cannot be denied. For any guy, she's probably the perfect representation of an ideal girlfriend. I can't be objective about this; I'm incapable of feeling affection towards other beings and therefore also incapable of falling in love.

Of course, I can't deny that I'm curious about the feelings of a teenager, so I don't rule out having a girlfriend in the near future. My life is like a blank slate, I deeply wish to color that canvas with an abundant range of colors.

As I was thinking this, I could see her; she was making her way through the crowd of students until she reached me. Nanase noticed me quickly despite my shadowy presence; I'm surprised.

Senpai, hello.

She stopped in front of me, flashing a cute and charming smile.

"Are you interested in a club?"

I asked.

Maybe I was a little cold; it's annoying having to deal with people.

"Not really, I only came here because you asked me to."

That can be easily misinterpreted.

"It's not what I meant..."

She turned her face away and mumbled that shyly. It's fun teasing her; apparently, it's becoming my favorite pastime.

Thank you for waiting, first-year students. A representative from each club will explain their activities and how to join. I'm Tachibana, the student council secretary and the president in charge of this club fair. Nice to meet you all

A woman caught the attention of all the students with those words; she was watching from the podium. After the girl's greeting, the club representatives lined up on the stage and tried to get the students' attention.

As expected, none of them deserved my presence. Maybe the music club or the tea ceremony club would be good for relaxing for a while, but they aren't realistic options for me.

It seems none of them managed to fully convince you, senpai.

You're right. - I agreed with her.

As the idiots on stage continued to talk like second-rate politicians, a possibility occurred to me. Create a club; there has to be a benefit, of course. I'm aware that I might have to pay an initial fee, but it will be worth it. Right now, I have over four million private points; I can probably afford whatever it takes.

I'll have to work out the details later; the main goal is to at least triple the amount of private points I have right now. I can't always rely on blackmailing careless idiots. I'll have to consult with a professor later; I just hope the requirements are at least remotely possible for a first-year student

The baseball club leader stepped back from the podium to make way for a black-haired boy. He stared into space for a couple of seconds and readjusted his glasses; he seemed to have all the air of a model student. He was silent, though he didn't seem nervous.

Who is this person?

Do your best.

Did you forget to bring your notes?

People seem to have misinterpreted his actions. He was analyzing with his eyes; he's a leader. He's definitely one of the few people who have caught my attention so far. It's unusual to come across someone like this in a school setting; you could say he's been exquisitely raised.

Manabu Horikita, I'm the student council president.

We're also looking for first-year students to replace those who are graduating. There are no requirements to apply for the position, but we generally don't accept people who are in another club.

His tone was gentle yet intense; he silenced the entire gymnasium just with his presence.

I see, so he's the one who fills that role at the school. I'm not very familiar with the positions and roles a student can aspire to since this is my first time at a school. Apparently, it's an important position.

Also, we're not looking for anyone with a naive way of thinking.

His speech lasted less than I imagined. Still, it seems to have had the desired effect on the students; he really commanded respect around here

Manabu, almost immediately afterward, left the stage and the building.

I glanced at him, tracing his path with my eyes. For a moment, our eyes met; it was a fleeting moment, probably one many would say was just an illusion.

The doors were closed.

No one dared to speak

Nanase beside me was deep in thought with an extremely serious expression. I didn't want to interrupt her. It would be interesting to see her reaction if I gently blew in her ear, but apparently this was a rather tense moment, and I didn't want to ruin the atmosphere.

Guys, thanks for coming. With that, the club fair is over. We'll now open the reception area for anyone interested in joining. The reception area will only be open until the end of April, so anyone interested after that can submit their applications directly to the club.

Tachibana took it upon herself to clean up the mess that guy had made. The gym became noisy soon after.

So, I guess that's all...

Yeah, it's a shame not to find anything interesting around here. Let's head back to the dorms, Nanase.

I lied

Something caught my attention.

In fact, it seems the constellations are conspiring in my favor.

3

Swimming lessons. As expected, the boys were extremely motivated. Seeing a cute girl in a swimsuit is definitely tempting, even for me.

"Dude, this is going to be great!"

I wonder which ones will be bigger...

Hasebe is definitely the best; her breasts are monstrous.

I recognized these idiots. Yamauchi was part of the class's famous trio of idiots, as was his best friend, Ike.

I've truly never met people as desperate for female contact as these two. Sudou was also part of this group of idiots; that was the name of that red-haired boy.

Ayanokouji-dono. I'd like to get your opinion on this

Sotomura. He's a chubby guy they call Professor or something; for some strange reason, he always addresses me with respect and admiration. It's not bad, it's always nice to receive the adoration I deserve.

I'd rather avoid that subject.

- Oh come on, Professor, you shouldn't ask this melancholic bastard questions like that. I still don't understand how Nanase-chan hangs out with and even feeds a guy like him

Ike again. Looks like I'll have to put him in his place. I don't mind him calling me melancholic, but referring to me as a bastard is definitely disrespectful.

Fine, I plan to get rid of useless people like him; it's only a matter of time. I'll break and destroy the class with my own hands. To do that, I have to make them hit rock bottom first; that way they'll experience true despair.

"Ike-kun, you're being too rude; please calm down." Hirata stepped between us, trying to prevent any kind of conflict. It's not like I intended to wear my knuckles out on a fly.

I quickly changed into simple swim trunks, ready to go swimming. Sudou did the same and then looked at me, over and over again, with an expression of astonishment.

"Are you a gymnast or something?"

"No, I just work out," I replied.

I wasn't lying.

There's no way you got a body like that with just exercise. I mean... Just look at that eight-pack.

I can say the same about you, you're clearly an athlete.

- Oh yeah, I want to be a professional basketball player after all.

- I see, then keep at it.

You don't have to tell me.

I left the locker room and headed towards the pool, my main intention being not to get too involved with the guys in the back.

- Where are the girls?

Aren't they here yet?

I sighed in disappointment. They'd barely arrived and they were already making a scene.

Seriously, they're irritating.

Oh...

It seems the girls are on the observation floor. Throwing nasty insults at the pair of perverts and looking at them with disgust

They kept shouting random things; I was surprised by the backward thinking of these two boys. If they met one of those women who defend feminism, she would probably call them sexist

They reaffirmed their probably homosexual friendship by holding hands and jumping in circles.

What are they doing?

Kushida arrived on the scene, which caused both boys to suddenly become extremely stiff. I walked away, not really interested in this situation.

Honestly, I don't want to get too involved with someone as troublesome as her either. The school year has barely begun; I want to enjoy the little bit of school life I have left.

There's something wrong with that girl.

Maybe I'm being too paranoid. Let me argue my suspicions: Kushida is a kind and outgoing girl who declared from day one that she wanted to be friends with everyone. On the surface, there's nothing wrong with that.

However, if you take the time to observe her more properly, you'll notice something:

Her microexpressions

This is something impossible for an ordinary person to voluntarily control. Kushida has to wear a mask all day, and she does it quite well. However, so many repressed feelings are impossible for one human body to bear.

The mask can crack gradually or for short periods of time. Kushida has a distinct repulsion towards men who leer at her body; her involuntary and imperceptible disgust whenever that pair of perverts approaches her is clear evidence of this

She's faking a personality, maybe that's too obvious.

Why?

I have no choice but to corner her; I seriously doubt she'll tell me willingly.

It's not the time for that yet.

Senpai...

Only one person called me that.

Nanase, so you're ready, huh...

I looked her up and down, scanning her. I involuntarily let out a small gasp. She was wearing her school swimsuit; her curvy body fit the outfit perfectly, highlighting her hips and hourglass waist. Her hair tied in a ponytail, along with the cute pink painted on her cheeks, gave me a much more glorious image

I don't think I'm wrong in saying that she's the most beautiful girl in the first year. Anyone who dares to deny it can calmly debate me.

I'm sure I can win with reasonable arguments.

"It suits you." I gave her a thumbs-up, and she looked away, embarrassed. It seems my internet research on how to flirt and tease girls is working.

Why are you still with this guy?

That was sudden.

Nanase and I turned around, finding the voice's author.

Doesn't he ever get tired of bothering us?

Horikita-san. I have no idea what kind of problem you have with senpai, but please don't speak rudely to him in my presence.

It was the day we arrived at school. As soon as he saw you, all he did was stare at your thighs shamelessly. I don't think he qui-...

Okay, I don't mind. He's senpai after all. If he looks at my body like that, all I can do is feel flattered.

That surprised me.

Now, go. - Nanase glared at her, frowning. She was angry; it seems she can't stand anyone talking badly about me.

A girl is defending me. I never thought something like this would happen

Your...

Horikita seemed dissatisfied with the result.

"Should I tell your brother?"

She instantly recoiled in surprise. It seems I've found her Achilles' heel.

It wasn't too difficult to connect the dots.

They both have the same hair and eye color, and they also share a last name. I wasn't sure if he was her brother or some other close relative; I just guessed, I suppose.

Yes, you know; the student council president. I'm sure someone as upright as him would be furious if you were going around slandering me.

"Nii-san..." she murmured.

Her breathing instantly became ragged. I was surprised at how effective this was.

Is she afraid of him or something?

Manabu certainly doesn't seem like a loving brother type...

Okay, sorry. I'll go now...

She even gave a small bow. I did nothing but watch apathetically. How quickly that superiority complex fell away. I expected much more, if you ask me.

Senpai, let's go too. Sensei is calling us.

Nanase took my hand and dragged me along with her. I couldn't object, nor did I honestly feel like it. Her touch is soft and warm, as expected from a girl.

Besides, it seems she has no intention of letting go.

It's a bit sudden, but I'll be assessing your swimming skills. Please start warming up.

Um, Sensei, I don't know how to swim. A boy raised his hand apologetically.

As your teacher, I'll make sure you learn to swim by summer. Don't worry. It will certainly be useful, I guarantee it

The warm-up exercises began and everyone went to dive into the pool. Nanase was aware of her action and nervously apologized to me. I told her I didn't mind her holding my hand, but that she should warn me in advance.

If I were your average teenager, I'd be in deep limbo while she smiled goofily

Well, then I suppose you can start competing against each other now. I'll give 5,000 points to the winner; of course, we'll divide into men's and women's sections. Furthermore, last place will receive extra lessons, so be prepared.

The girls lined up in their respective lanes. Since there were only ten of them, they were divided into two groups of five. The whistle blew, and the race began. They all took off at the same time.

I was particularly interested in gauging the overall physical capabilities of the course, so I paid close attention to each girl's posture and arm movements. Onodera quickly took the lead and finished in 26 seconds. The difference between her and the others was quite significant. Quite an athletic girl, huh...

Wish me luck, senpai. It's my turn

Nanase walked past me and took her place in her lane. I'm a little curious; this is a good way to assess her abilities. It would be a disappointment if she turns out to be just an average girl who only stands out for being pretty. I want something more. Horikita positioned herself right next to her, without even looking at her, but I was sure they were both aware of each other's presence. Kushida was there too, so this race is quite popular with the male population specifically.

The whistle squealed loudly, signaling the start of the competition. Nanase took the lead, and her pace was quite good. Right behind her was Horikita, who also seemed to be excellent. Kushida had fallen a little behind, but that was enough to secure her third-place prize

The race ended. Nanase won the competition with a time of twenty-six seconds, a good time indeed. Horikita was behind her with a time of twenty-eight; she seemed frustrated in some way but didn't show it openly. However, this wasn't the end of it. Now the two winners from each group would compete to see who would take the five thousand points.

Nanase had just finished one race and was already about to enter another. I thought it was a bit unfair that she wasn't given a break beforehand. Anyway, she didn't seem bothered by that, so I'd better keep quiet.

Begin!

This time it wasn't the whistle, it was a shout from the teacher. Both girls dived instantly and closed the distance in a flash. There didn't seem to be any difference between their abilities if we're talking about the aquatic realm specifically. That's what I thought, anyway. I was naive

Nanase is more surprising than I thought. She surprisingly increased her pace at the last moment and managed to take first place, completely crushing her opponent. I don't think that was intentional, but making your rival believe they can win or that they're on your level, only to then shatter all their expectations, is certainly cruel.

Nanase got out of the pool, the water droplets trickling down her body and dampening her hair definitely making her look even more beautiful and attractive. She has exceeded my expectations. I've determined her usefulness as my pawn in the future. Nanase walked toward me, then asked me a question:

How did I do, senpai?

She was expecting praise. She's like a puppy seeking its master's approval; some kind of reward or pat, I have no problem giving it to her.

You're good. I patted her head a couple of times; she smiled shyly, she seemed very happy.

I have to go.

Okay, do your best, senpai

I walked to the left lane and took my position; I didn't want to be too professional about this. Sudou was beside me as well, sporting a courageous expression; he seems determined to get first place at all costs. Aside from him, I don't recognize anyone else of note around here

The whistle blew, and I jumped in a little late, determined to give away a few seconds and then make up ground. As soon as my body hit the water, I shot out and quickly caught up with the redhead; with one last push, I won the race. It was about twenty-four seconds; I could have finished sooner, but I considered this enough.

Man, you completely crushed me there. I should have expected it if you have that kind of body. - Sudou got out of the pool and congratulated me, patting me on the back. There didn't seem to be any resentment about losing.

It's not a big deal. I'm just a little faster than average.

I decided to respond to his compliment with a humble attitude, so he just laughed ironically and left shortly after.

Senpai, I brought you a towel. - Nanase came to my side instantly as soon as Sudou left. It seemed he had been waiting for the opportunity to talk to me.

Nanase, you're very helpful

I'm happy to do this if it's for senpai, I don't mind.

Whatever...

I dried my hair, then rearranged it enough so it wouldn't obstruct my view. I'd have to get in the pool again, so there was no point in drying myself completely if I was just going to get wet again.

"So he's the winner, huh..."

I muttered. Koenji won by a wide margin over the current class leader, Hirata. He hadn't done badly either, but the skill gap was abysmal

wide

Koenji was gloating arrogantly over himself, showing off his body as if it were a sculpture in an exclusive museum. Then he walked up to his lane and looked at me defiantly, completely sure he was going to win.

I handed back the towel and trotted over there; looks like I'll have to take someone down a peg. I waited for the teacher's signal to continue, completely determined to crush my opponent.

"Start!"

I didn't give it my all, but I was certainly going at a speed impossible for any average athlete to beat. Koenji surprisingly kept up with me, so my arms swung harder and faster, splashing water as I went.

They're fucking fast!

Damn, they're like two beasts!

If they keep this up, they can break the world record.

At first glance, it looked like we arrived at the same time; but I made sure that wasn't the case. The teacher's stopwatch should have counted the few thousandths of a second difference between us

Ayanokouji, you're the winner. Koenji-kun, you lost by a very small margin, so don't be discouraged by this. -We received the results.

As expected, the victory was mine.

Ayanokouji-boy, this is just one of countless realms. The perfect existence is still me, remember that

I paid no attention to his words, because although his skills are good, he is still inferior to me in every possible way.

In heaven or on earth, there is no one better than me.

I am fully aware of this.
