Chapter 2 - Chapter II: Dream

Adam was no ordinary child hell like anyone from Pallet Town was normal.

Ten years of testing, perfecting, experimenting, and dumb luck. Maybe too much of carnal stuff in the mix.

Sure helps build stamina and endurance also the worlds logic is just so anime. Adam can't tell if this world is similar to One Piece, Jojo Bizarre Adventures, Hunter x Hunter, or Solo Leveling with how powers work and all.

Still Adam and the others began their training at the age of five (maybe Naruto) and ten years later— Adam was no longer the messy child who once picked fights with bullies and Pokémon alike. Ten years had burned that boy into something sharper. His frame had filled into lean, fighting muscle, the kind forged from endless drills and survival in the wild. His hands, rough and scarred, flexed with unconscious readiness; his left leg still carried the pale line of an old wound, a reminder of the night his aura first flared.

His face had hardened too — jaw set, cheekbones sharper, eyes full of hunger. His hair was longer, untamed as ever, falling in dark strands that brushed his ears and whipped in the wind.

He wore the garb of a traveler, thank you Fallout; dark trousers reinforced at the knees, boots scuffed from the road, and a short cloak stitched with faint silver sigils — the mark of the Dragon Trainers and Slayers. Subtle, but unmistakable.

And all that money spent on his drip Adam just had one thing to check in on:

Adam put away one of the very technology he can actually use away and address the dragon siblings. Apparently their parents were both A-Rank Pokemon. Like so always in these fanfics they are Pokemon levels.

Ordinary, Rare, Elite, Lord, Overlord, Gym Leader(Quasi-King), King, Champion, Master, and Legendary– ten levels in total.

Fuck thank all Christ (which exists in this world) that qualification systems was in the past were it belongs. It was hard to remember and it's so stupid. Instead goes from I, H, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, and S rank. With C being worth a damn so there no real point of the others in real sense. But Trainers aim their Pokemon combat level D-Rank and higher.

Deino and Noibat being cultivated by Professional Breeding Centers and with parents at the A-Rank their combat level is at G-rank which is more than to face most tournaments at the Rookie level. Gym challenges are out if the question until C-Rank.

Same with Trainers rankings they are: 1.Rookie trainer.

2. Beginner trainer. (By getting the certificate, participating in the Rookie tournament)

3. Intermediate trainer. (Must have at least Six E-Rank Pokémon) The standards are insane.

4. Advanced trainer. (Must have at least C-Rank team) This where gym challenges happen.

5. Ace Trainer. (Must have at least Six B-Ranked Pokémon)

6. Elite trainer. (Must have at least 1 A Pokémon)

7. Champion trainer. (Win a Regional Championship and all Pokémon on main are A-Rank and higher higher)

8. Master trainer. (Must have at least 1 S-Ranked Pokémon. Have certification of mastery)

10. Grand Master (Must have more than 1 Champion title from different regions. All Pokémon must be S-Rank and have a Legendary Pokémon).

The ride out to Route 1 was simply beautiful to Adam who never actually took in the scenery. As one the students of the regional professor. They travelled all over the regions for classes and training. The shit was expensive as fuck. Like near training to become a doctor levels of debt.

This is how a 15 year is out pacing the two Dragon Pokémon just by walking. Deino and Noibat are baffled by the endurance of the human.

He is human right?

The trio were somewhere near the entrance of the forests that outlined the north-west of section 23. The Pokémon world is huge with some cities being the size of Texas as a minimum.

Adam had released Deino and Noibat out of the pokeball, allowing the dragon siblings to know his greatness. And not because he might have accidentally broke the balls and replace them blacksmith Apricorn balls.

On the plus side they look badass as hell and even have seals on them.

"So Apollo and Diana, I ever tell you about my dream to become a Pokémon Dragon Badass, Bug Supremacist, and overall chad that just screams aura?"

Apollo the Deino because apparently his human said the name bring power. Apollo the Romain (what's a Romain?) god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light, poetry, and more. Deino has no idea what Master is talking about but he loves the name but Apollo nodded, rolling his eyes, or at least the eye rolling a Deino can even do. His trainer might have mentioned the topic some…  299 times? Over the last week. Apollo didn't give a fuck…

Dear lord Adam is already infecting the Pokémon…

Master treated Diana well and feed maybe a bit too much and the exercise are hard enough to make any fighting type jealous. Apollo leaned this quickly when Master never refused a challenge from wild Pokémon but other than that everything is lit.

Apollo still doesn't know what lit means or why Master vocabulary makes no sense.

Diana, named after the patroness of the countryside and nature, hunters, wildlife, childbirth, crossroads, the night, and the Moon. She really loved the stories Master would tell. They are always so interesting and outrageous.

"Should I go eat Ekans or Onix?" Adam wondered to himself eating an apple through his job. Diana had to admit that her Trainer is very strong. Brother puts on a brave front but Master is slightly crazy.

100 pushups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats. Every hour and if you don't finish under ten minutes you will be given the most horrendous meal Diana has ever eaten. Once was enough thank you. Than a 1-hour boulder push race. A boulder that weighs 100kg to which Diana fails to understand how that fits in Master's backpack.

Than eat meal that fill a Munchlax belly two times over. Immediately Master who also eats more than both combined throws stones the size my her heads are speeds they barely dodge. Did Diana also mention the smooth boulders uphill using a harness?

Master loves boulders too much if it wasn't for the rich Dragon-energy from his aura than Diana thought Master would be a Rock specialist. Than finally the routines ends with unreasonable numbers kilometers through Beedrill territory that ends with a light job about 12 kilometers.

This starts are 4:30 in morning. Diana learned many things from her time Kolas so she knows that this isn't normal.

"I think Ekans is the next Pokémon I should get. A girl is a must." Adam said to think adding the Poison-type to the list. He will why they are the dragon egg group but hey it's all about the game. Plus, many snake species exhibit gender dimorphism, meaning males and females show different physical traits. These differences can include size, color, head shape, and tail length, and they vary by species. For example, females are often larger in species like Kanto and Unova Arboks, Sevipers, and ball pythons, while other species might have different color patterns between the sexes.

Adam was little bum that he didn't a system like so many fanfics he read but he is almost sure that his body wasn't 100% human. But he wasn't a biologist nor explain the effects of aura in the human body. It work too similar to many anime it was hard to pin down.

But the first thing he gotta do is the siblings up to shape. Dragon Ball works wonders in this world. He tested it and judging with how powerful the others got when they copied it the results speak for themselves. Gary modified it for a more bulky version. While the girls more or less focused on speed.

"What do you guys think? Would all dragon team be effective? I want to make an kickass team, and then together, we'll go take part in the Indigo Conference."

Apollo has no real opinion or interest in the matter. He did catch the Conference part. He had seen on television, how powerful pokémon fought each other in front of hundreds of people. He wondered how he would fare against them now.

But Master is Master and he will do everything to be powerful like mother.

"In the future you will be the baddest Hydreigon the world wil ever see! And Diana don't forget will be the fastest, gracious, and beautiful Noivern ever!"

Apollo and Diana agreed with their trainer one hundred percent on that.

[xXX]

The forests lining Pallet town were home to several native Kanto pokémon. Thanks the Alliance and poachers. Pokémon normally found in other regions can be found here though they are exceptions. It's treated like hunting season back on Earth… and here they are so many things very similar that it is crazy.

Many a trainer often captured a Pidgey from a flying horde, and if not, then a Catterpie or a Rattata is a rather easy game.

Gary sent pictures of his captures and unlike the anime or many fanfics that preach too much. The brunette plans on rotating his team with the exception of his stater. Gary dream to be the strongest Pokémon Professor in the world. This goal includes beating his father Green. A former Pokémon champion before retiring the title over to Lance.

Ashley wants to be the very best like her canon counterpart and 'possibly' make Adam her slave. Possibly is in quotations because the girl flats out says it to his face every Friday after game night for twelve years.

Blue is no fucking better despite being the daughter of fashion designer and novelist. She is determined to steal from Gary Oak only. She also wants test how much low cut dresses can make the Oak heir blush until he snaps.

Giselle wants to one up Gary in basically everything in the shortest skirt possible. Adam wore she is barely better than Dawn most the times.

Marie Joy and and her half sister Ophelia Jenny the first ever in the long history of the Joy and Jenny clans. Marie expertise in medicine and first aid remains unparalleled compared to her peers or even seniors. She more or less the reason Adam and Ashley are not covered scars from top to bottom.

Ophelia is like other girl named Ophelia she is a stacked tomboy with an outgoing, spunky, tough personality and full of assumptions. Her observation and deductive skills was incredible to say the least, her intuition and behavioral analyst skills made her a terrifying trainer to confront, though her spontaneous behavior did masked her skills pretty well.

She also a damn thief who thinks it's perfectly ok for her to steal Adam's house keys, his information, man journal, god damnit Blue your infecting a future cop.

Or she is abusing her power as a cop in training for those stupid laws.

Adam has yet to figure out that Ophelia is making up the laws of Kanto. And the girl is unhinged as hell. Like the time where Adam was forced by the half-siblings and proceeded to kidnapped him, stripped him down to his boxers, and by blackmail material that only his aunts could have have provided forcing him to participate in their crazy idea for a book-signing slash massage parlor to quote "Help launch the book series." Sure, he was only credited with co-authorship, but that didn't mean he wanted everyone to know that he was dragged into helping his their/ his 3rd auntie filthy books!

But despite his protests and bribes, they went forward with their plan. Recreating scenes from the book Adam should have definitely read! The end result was him straddling the smooth and sexy back of one Ophelia Jenny as she tried emphasis on tried past all the moaning recreate the scene where the protagonist has the female villain in a weird as fuck message trap that somehow a semi-rape semi-cuddling semi-seduction semi-interrogation against the male protagonist.

How the hell does that shit even work? Then Marie proved that even the flattest chest of all the females he knows show ups as the female protagonist and helps the villain in the interrogation because reasons Adam had long stopped caring for.

Serena is very similar to her anime counterpart and the games. Kind to others, very fashionable, very very very playful girl.

While other people would describe her as sweet, kindhearted and innocent, the real Serena is above all else highly perverted, a side of herself which she doesn't show to others much, with the exception of Adam, whom she loves and lusts for. He is not even sure why.

Her goals are to win the Kanto Showcase which yeah no shit it caught after Kalos opened its borders. This event quickly brought the Master class Showcase third in most watched after the Grand Festival and the Pokémon League Conference.

Yellow wants to travel with Ashley and not because she has a massive crush on Ashley's um baby daddy? The situation between Red and Delia was very complicated and for the life of him very familiar.

Goh has the same goal as the anime counterpart except a bit more reasonable with capturing Pokémon. Goh aim to be a Professor who specializes in Pokémon care. Best with Chole who despises Adam guts with a passion.

The relationship between Adam and Chole can be described as "cold war in between Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo."

Chloe hates Adam. Adam doesn't care enough to hate her back — which, obviously, makes her hate him more.

It's not that he goes out of his way to annoy her (most days). It's just that his entire existence seems genetically engineered to piss her off. The arrogance, the confidence, the way he somehow knows how to push every one of her perfectly filed buttons like a psychic with a grudge.

Adam simply can't help himself around girls like Chole. To cope the fact he was raised by deviants and his only male relative is a grandfather who taught everything he knows from the 80s. Not to mention that both enjoy fighting. Unsurprisingly, most of their interactions are emotional and physical clashes with underlying attraction and genuine annoyance.

Their feud started sometime between a lab project gone wrong and Adam "accidentally" reprogramming her Rotom-Phone to answer only to "Princess Thunder thighs." To his credit, he did fix it a week later. To her credit, she electrocuted him twice.

Now it's just tradition. Every conversation between them is a duel—half sarcasm, half thinly veiled murder attempts.

Still… as much as Adam pretends to roll his eyes, he respects her. She's one of the few who doesn't buy his half-smirk confidence act and calls him out when he's full of shit—which, to be fair, is often.

And maybe that's why she hates him so much. Because deep down, she knows he's not bluffing when he says he'll win.

Apollo and Diana, for the past hour, stared at their trainer pacing in circles like a man possessed — muttering, listing names, occasionally growling something that didn't sound human.

It was the dragon tongue. And he is quite fluent in swearing.

"Ok enough of me bitchin up a storm." Stopping his rant Adam grab the two electric pills and offer them Apollo and Diana. Dragon Pokémon besides Normal have the most type diversity among all the Pokémon. Apollo learning Fairy type energy is pretty much impossible but he can learn the others.

Unlike in the games there many times other moves that surprised Adam. For example Aqua Punch exists here. Not being restricted by programming and hardware limitations the move pool of Pokémon is difficult to count for.

The two pills are the size of a pebble but it's enough for the siblings. There bodies can handle the strain since they began training.

Cultivation items can do wonderful things but only if you have the foundation to survive the trauma from the items.

Apollo sniffed the electric pill suspiciously, nostrils flaring as faint sparks cracked off the capsule. He didn't understand what it was, only that it buzzed wrong — like thunder before a storm.

"Don't give me that look," Adam said, holding out his palm. "It's not poison. It's progress."

The Deino growled low in his throat, but the sound died when Adam downed one himself without hesitation. The boy grimaced, eyes twitching at the aftershock, then exhaled a wisp of static-laced breath.

"Yeah… that burns." He smirked. "Means it's working."

He crouched beside the dragons, tone shifting from teasing to serious, the kind of calm that made even wild Pokémon stop to listen. "Alright, these pills are aura-conductive. They're gonna charge your core pathways, open up your elemental gates — no pain, no gain. You'll feel the surge first, then the pull. Don't fight it. Let it flow."

Apollo's muscles tensed as the pill hit his system, his scales twitching as faint arcs of yellow light crawled through the blue fur. He growled, low and guttural, the ground vibrating under his paws.

Diana's wings flared instinctively. The moment the energy reached her bloodstream, she jolted — a pulse of electricity dancing across her thin frame before she steadied herself. Her eyes glowed faintly with residual light, the air humming softly around her.

The Deino line can learn absurd number of moves: Thunder Fang, Thunder Claw, Charge Beam, Wild Charge, Shock Wave, Thunder Wave, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Electro Pulse, Electric Wave, Supercell Slam, and Ion Cannon.

It makes there would other elemental variations of Fire Blast and Blast Burn.

Diana being a Noibat her combat skills greatly differs from the Deino line. Though a special defensive tank will absolutely kick his team ass if he doesn't catch more physical Pokémon. Diana can so much more elemental attacks than her brother but all of it is the same with crap ton of extras.

Well into games they learn olny one move buys that's complete bullshit.

She can learn Thunder Disc, Shooting Battery, Energy Wave, Jaw of Light, Reflection Bolt, Plasma Shine, Lightning and many more. Thunder Disc has great promise. It's a range version of Shadow Claw. A critical attacking move.

Next is forming the other elemental cores. A younger body can handle the mutation process better — bones aren't fully fused, nerves adapt faster, and aura veins haven't calcified. Basically, you can cram a ton of unstable elemental crap into a small dragon before nature realizes it's being cheated.

There are three known ways of forming an elemental core: natural evolution, external infusion, and forced cultivation.

Natural evolution is the safest, slowest, and most boring method. The Pokémon's body and aura align naturally through experience, diet, and environmental exposure. It's like watching paint dry, except the paint occasionally breathes fire and bites your fingers. The results are stable, but it takes years — maybe decades for some dragons.

External infusion is what the breeding centers do — flooding a young Pokémon's aura system with condensed elemental essence. Think of it as jamming a battery pack into a living creature and praying it doesn't explode. Works faster, sure, but you risk deformities: scale discoloration, nerve backlash, and in rare cases, spontaneous combustion. Not great PR.

Then there's forced cultivation — Adam personal favorite and the one Professor Oak keeps pretending he didn't teach me. It's a mix of aura compression, directed elemental exposure, and sheer mental will. You don't just train the body; you trick it into adapting. You introduce the element, shock the aura into responding, and force stabilization through synchronization — trainer and Pokémon linked in pulse and focus.

It's brutal, inefficient, and borderline illegal outside of sanctioned environments. But when it works? The results are monstrous. The aura structure hardens faster, elemental channels widen, and power output skyrockets. Most people can't handle it because they treat Pokémon like glass. Adam treat mine like what they are — dragons.

The key is regulation — too much elemental energy and the core fractures. Too little, and it never forms. The aura veins spiral around the heart, weaving through muscle fibers and nerve endings. When the element takes hold, it brands itself into the soul — permanently.

Or another method: eating wild Pokémon.

Speaking of wild Pokémon — a Beedrill patrol came by. Right on schedule.

The air shifted first. A faint hum, then a sharp, electric buzz that cut through the trees like a sawblade. Shadows darted between the trunks, black and yellow streaks gleaming in the morning light.

There were five of them — low-tier guards, judging by the size of their stingers. Standard formation: one lead, two flankers, two rear scouts. Efficient, territorial, pissed. The sweet tang of pheromone-laced air hit his nose before they even broke the clearing.

Adam smirked. "Perfect timing."

He dropped the half-eaten apple and raised a hand. "Apollo, front. Diana, altitude pattern three. Non-lethal— if you can help it."

The Deino lunged forward, claws digging into soil, growling as dark aura flared across his body like smoke. Diana shot up instantly, wings beating once before she caught the thermal draft above the trees.

The Beedrill squad fanned out, stingers glowing with poisonous light. The lead one screeched and dove first — a blur of yellow.

"Intercept it!"

Apollo didn't hesitate. His body became a projectile of fur and muscle, colliding headfirst with the incoming Beedrill. The impact echoed through the clearing — dull, heavy, followed by a pained buzz.

"Head Smash," Adam muttered under his breath. "Still overshoots the timing… but damn if the power isn't there."

Two more Beedrill rushed from the sides, trying to flank him. "Diana!"

The Noibat folded her wings, dove, then released a sharp sonic pulse mid-fall. The Screech shattered the air like glass — the incoming Beedrill faltered, tumbling before she twisted and rammed one with her shoulder.

Apollo landed, breathing heavy, dust rising around him. One of the Beedrill recovered fast, darting toward him again, twin stingers flashing.

"Dark Pulse!"

A ripple of black energy burst from Apollo's mouth — unstable, jagged. It slammed into the bug, sending it spinning into a nearby tree trunk with a satisfying thunk.

Adam grinned. "Good boy. Keep that rhythm."

But Beedrill don't scare easy. The last three regrouped, spinning into a formation — synchronized motion, their wings beating in unison until the air crackled with static. Adam's hair lifted slightly from the generated charge.

"Swarm mode. Cute."

He crouched low, eyes narrowing. The insects darted forward, faster this time — blindingly fast.

"Diana, Tailwind!"

A gust exploded outward from above as the Noibat's wings glowed white. The air pressure surged, swirling behind Apollo like an invisible hand pushing him forward.

"Now — Dragon Rage!"

Apollo roared, a burst of blue draconic flame erupting from his jaws. It tore through the air, catching the first Beedrill head-on. The creature spun, smoking, then hit the dirt with a twitch. The others faltered, breaking formation — mistake.

Adam's eyes gleamed. "Finish it. Bite, focus, pulse."

The Deino didn't need to understand the words; instinct took over. He darted, jaws glowing faintly before clamping down on another Beedrill mid-flight. The crunch was wet and final. The rest turned to flee — they didn't get far.

Diana dived one last time, wings vibrating in a high-pitched hum. A shockwave burst from her mouth — Supersonic. The final Beedrill slammed into a tree, unconscious before it hit the ground.

Silence reclaimed the clearing. Only the faint crackle of residual aura energy and the soft buzz of dying wings.

Adam exhaled, steady. "That'll do." He stepped closer, crouched by the fallen Beedrill, examining the twitching one with a gloved hand. Its stinger still pulsed faintly with poison.

"Low-tier, just like I thought," he muttered. "Core density minimal… but enough for what I need."

He reached for a vial from his pack — thin glass, faintly glowing blue. "Don't waste nature's generosity."

He collected a sample of the venom, then a fragment of the Beedrill's carapace — both crackling faintly with Bug-type energy. His expression was somewhere between a scientist and a hunter.

"Every ecosystem gives something," he said quietly. "You just have to be willing to take it."

Apollo huffed beside him, chest heaving. Diana landed lightly on his shoulder, feathers still trembling from the sonic backlash.

Adam grinned. "Good work, you two. You just earned dinner."
