Chapter 9 - Immortal Ascension Token

As Lei Ming spoke, he dashed deeper into the mansion as if his feet were greased, shouting, "Father, help! Immortal Master, help!"

Li Feiyu had once vowed not to kill proactively, but now that they had come knocking on his door, he couldn't be blamed.

"All of you shall become nutrients!"

He plucked leaves and scattered flowers, taking one life with each step.

Li Feiyu walked leisurely and naturally through the crowd, leaving a trail of blood behind him.

Passing through the central courtyard, all the guards who had attacked him died by his hand, while the maids and servants who had not moved, hiding in corners out of fear, all survived.

By the time he reached the back garden, dozens of people appeared before him, each armed with weapons, standing in a tight formation.

Lei Yunhe, the Lei Family Patriarch, angrily rebuked, "Your Excellency, who are you, to dare openly invade my Lei Family and kill people?"

Just then, Lei Ming came over, bringing the bound Zhang Xiuer with him.

"Father, he lives next door to Zhang Xiuer's house; he came for this lowly woman."

"Be careful, he is an Innate Transformation Grandmaster!"

Lei Yunhe's expression changed, then darkened. "What if he's a Grandmaster? His True Qi can't be inexhaustible. There are many Jianghu experts here; we can wear him down to death!"

"Attack him!"

"Whoever kills him, I will give them one hundred thousand taels of gold, and my Lei Family's inherited 'Demonic Thunder Hand' martial art!"

Many were moved and became fearless.

Li Feiyu sneered inwardly, *I couldn't ask for more!*

He casually broke off a tree branch, his Dragon movement technique reaching Transformation, becoming ghost-like and unpredictable.

Bursts of True Qi energy erupted, shattering metal and splitting stone; no one could block even one of his moves.

Lei Yunhe was horrified, "Is this what an Innate Grandmaster is like? How can he be so strong!"

"Ming'er, quickly go invite the Immortal Master; I'll hold him off."

Zhang Xiuer didn't know who the newcomer was, but looking at his figure, she inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity.

In a short while, only six or seven of the thirty-odd people remained. They had all lost their will to fight, collapsing on the ground, looking at Li Feiyu in horror, shouting, "Demon! Demon!"

Li Feiyu showed them no mercy either, several True Qi sword auras took their lives, then he quietly looked at Lei Yunhe.

"Don't come any closer! Otherwise, I'll kill this Zhang Xiuer!"

Lei Yunhe trembled with fear.

He had never seen a Grandmaster before, but now that he had, he felt that he was not much different from an Immortal Master.

Li Feiyu casually gathered the fallen leaves on the ground and blew them towards the opposite side.

Lei Yunhe raised his hand, and a palm of True Qi surged out, blowing the fallen leaves away. When he looked again, Li Feiyu's figure was gone.

"Not good!"

He gripped Zhang Xiuer's hand, immediately about to strike, but a hand suddenly landed on his arm. With a gentle twist, his entire arm was broken.

Lei Yunhe felt a piercing pain and couldn't help but scream.

Li Feiyu struck him with a palm, sending him flying. He crashed into the rockery, spitting blood, and fell to the ground, barely alive.

"Father!"

At this moment, Lei Ming just happened to arrive, and immediately ran to Lei Yunhe's side.

Li Feiyu ripped the ropes, letting Zhang Xiuer rest aside.

Not far away in the corridor, a middle-aged Daoist with shifty eyes stood there, stroking his beard, quietly watching Li Feiyu.

Li Feiyu looked directly at him, True Qi surging in his hand, attracting two long sabers from the ground. With a palm strike, the long sabers shot out, directly piercing the unsuspecting Lei Ming, and also giving Lei Yunhe a finishing blow.

"Clap, clap, clap~"

The middle-aged Daoist clapped his hands, "It is rumored that among Mortals, there are Innate Grandmasters, rarely seen in decades. I never thought that this old Daoist would actually encounter one in the small Bluestone City."

"You don't want to stand up for them?"

"Mere Mortals. If they die, they die. Anyway, I've already gotten what I wanted."

The middle-aged Daoist looked at Zhang Xiuer, his eyes showing interest.

"However, if you give that woman to me, I will consider letting you go."

"After all, this was a gift from the Lei Family to me, so she is my property."

Li Feiyu's face darkened.

"Then there's nothing to discuss!"

He drew a long saber to his hand and, with a ghostly movement technique, rushed towards the middle-aged Daoist.

Seeing Li Feiyu's explosive power, even he, a Cultivator, was startled, never expecting that a Martial Artist in the Mortal world could be so powerful upon reaching the Innate realm.

"In close combat, I might not be his match!"

"However…"

He gave a lewd smile and spewed a mouthful of brownish-gray mist.

A flash of white saber light appeared, splitting the mist.

But the next moment, Li Feiyu saw the long saber rapidly corrode, snapping with a clang.

He threw away the long saber, which was left with only a hilt and a small stub, then went to the courtyard and broke off a tree branch.

The middle-aged Daoist also rushed out, standing in the air.

The biggest difference between Cultivators and Martial Artists lies here; a Cultivator who has achieved a little success in their studies can fly, placing them in an invincible position.

Li Feiyu knew the other party intended to tease him and sneered inwardly, feigning to use the rockery and eaves to leap into the air and charge over.

The middle-aged Daoist shifted slightly and dodged him. He mocked, "Give up. A Mortal has no chance against a Cultivator. It's not easy for you to have entered the Innate realm."

Just then, Li Feiyu activated the Phantom Divine Needles he had secretly prepared, and it shot out from behind him.

"He's much weaker than Wang Qi; this person should be a Loose Cultivator."

Li Feiyu thought to himself, and as he expected, the Phantom Divine Needles directly pierced through his head, heart, Dantian, and other vital points.

"You~"

The middle-aged Daoist only managed to utter a word before his eyes dimmed and he fell to the ground.

Zhang Xiuer was startled; she completely failed to understand how that Immortal Master had died.

The masked man before her appeared even more mysterious.

"Go back. Fengxing and the others are waiting for you at home. Climb over the wall and don't let anyone see you!"

"Thank you, Senior. May I ask your name, and why you saved me?"

"You'll know when you go back."

Zhang Xiuer sighed, leaped over the courtyard wall, and left the Lei Family mansion.

Li Feiyu found the Storage Pouch on the middle-aged Daoist. The Daoist had previously said he obtained what he wanted from the Lei Family mansion, which piqued his interest.

Upon examining the Storage Pouch, there was indeed an item he cared about deeply.

It was a token, not metal, yet heavy. The front was engraved with two golden ancient characters, 'Ascend Immortal,' and the back bore a silver ancient character, 'Token.'

"Immortal Ascension Token!"

"It's actually an Immortal Ascension Token!"

Li Feiyu was overjoyed, having been worried about how to join a Sect.

"But which of the Seven Sects does this Immortal Ascension Token belong to?"

Examining the pattern on the token, Li Feiyu could see some unknown beast patterns.

"Could it be from Spirit Beast Mountain?"

"If that's truly the case, then nothing could be better."

The main headquarters of the Six Devil Dao Sects is in State of Tianluo, making it a bit troublesome to join them directly. If he could first join Spirit Beast Mountain and then enter Spirit Control Sect through Spirit Beast Mountain, it would be a natural progression, requiring no effort at all.

"By my calculations, it seems the once-a-decade Heavenly South Mountain Immortal Ascension Convention is almost here."

"I probably won't make it to this convention, so I'll have to find another way."

After a thorough search of the Lei Family mansion, Li Feiyu quietly departed.
