'Wow what a big Hotel!' Kenneth shouted in excitement.
He skipped towards the tall staircase and launched himself up the steps, one by one. The hotel was up high, like, really, really high.
'I hope the food is good.' John laughed.
He was hungry, hungrier then ever right now. It was only a matter of time before he'd start feeling like he was going to starve.
The hotel was a wooden big building filled with windows, and lights. It was three stories high and it was really tall. Kenneth and his three friends; John, Lin, and Skyler walked in and before a second passed, their mouths open wide.
'Wow! It's such a place!' Kenneth commented.
'Can't argue about that one.' Lin laughed.
Skyler just smiled. She tried to laugh but she couldn't. Something felt off. She usually didn't talk because she was quiet. But this time, it was different.
'It's so beautiful as well!' John exclaimed.
Skyler thought it was pretty too, all the lights suited the whole hotel well. A man with a brown suit and long grey jeans came over and put our baggages on the baggage cart. Kenneth and John were lead into a big bedroom with the number 13. Skylor and Lin were lead into another big bedroom with the number 17.
'So this is where we'll be staying for the next few weeks?' John asked, 'It's an incredible place to live!'
Kenneth couldn't disagree. It was such a place. There was a master bed, a grand table, lots of shelves and drawers, and best of all a big open window! And also, of course, a bathroom.
'Ahh, sleep deprivation is important!' John joked jumping onto the soft bed made out of white velvet and brown wool.
Room 17 wasn't much of a difference, except there were only 3 windows and the bedroom wasn't that big. It was only noon and they needed lunch soon, so Kenneth and his friends agreed to go and try out the food at the hotel resturaunt. The worker directed them to the ground floor. They looked for awhile until they finally spotted a table.
'Here!' Lin called, 'The hotel restaurant is here!'
'Huh? Where are you did?!' John shouted.
There was silence. He could hear nothing but the echo of his voice.
'Huh?!' Was the next thing John heard. It must've been Lin.
John walked towards the voice and told Skyler to follow. John could see some lights and they were bright. He started seeing a crowd of people and ran towards them.
'John! Here! Skyler!' Something shouted, 'I'm here! Lin!'
John and Skyler rushed towards Lin. John stopped to prevent a crash into Lin but Skyler ran right into her.
'Lin! I'm so hungry' Skyler cried hugging Lin.
'Ah— Uh, I meant— Yeah…' Lin answered, 'Me too.'
There was a few more seconds of silence and John was standing still, frozen, looking carefully around.
'Where's Kenneth?' John asked. 'He doesn't seem to be around here.'
Skyler pushed herself off Lin.
'I don't know!' Lin told.
The four friends looked at the menu and immediately, they knew what they wanted. Kenneth, order the fish and chips, John ordered the fried rice, Lin ordered the dumpling noodles, and Skylor ordered her favourite: pepperoni pizza.
It was half an hour or so before they actually received their meals and when it came, John, couldn't wait. He immediately started dining.
'Ah! Mmmm! It's deliciously delicious!' He complimented. 'You guys should try yours!'
'Easy! Chill!' Skylor laughed. 'Is it that good—'
'Mmm! Wow!' Lin screamed bursting in to happy tears. 'It's incredibly incredible!!'
They ate for while, and the clock ticked. The restaurant was nice and cosy, there was a fire right next to their table so it wouldn't be too cold or warm. There were hanging lights hung up all over the roof and the tiling was very nice. They chatted and suddenly, the uneasiness came back to Skyler.
'Nghhh.' She moaned.
Skylor looked around and noticed a worker wearing a weird yellow and blue badge with the letters; L and S.
'L, S?' Skyler thought, 'What could that mean?'
Then out of no where, a big crash noise came. Kenneth turned around and saw a bookshelf collapse.
'Huh?' He thought.
No one put it upright. Kenneth was confused, and so were Skyler, Lin and John.
'Uh… maybe we should go back to our bedrooms and rest for a bit.' Kenneth suggested.
His friends thought about it. They were tired and they had also finished eating, it was a perfect time for them to go now.
'Yeah let's go.' Lin agreed. 'There's nothing to do if we stay here anyways.'
And they decided to head back and rest for a bit and so they did.
