Watson Mansion was quiet before sunrise.
The kind of quiet that pressed against the walls.
Upstairs, Jay was asleep.
Curtains half-drawn.
Phone silent.
Completely unaware.
Downstairs, Keifer was awake.
The living room lights were dim, city light barely filtering through the tall glass windows. Papers were spread across the low table in front of him — school reports, schedules, routine things.
Footsteps approached..
A maid stopped a respectful distance away.
"Sir."
He looked up.
"A letter came at the gate. The guard said it was handed directly."
"At this hour?"
"Yes, sir. There's no name."
She placed a plain white envelope on the table.
No sender.
No handwriting.
Nothing.
Keifer picked it up.
Opened it.
Inside was a folded sheet and a photograph.
He read the letter first.
The letter ✉️

You think winning that race made you untouchable?
That was just a little race.
You took my throne.
I will take it back.
And you will regret it.

His expression didn't change.
But the air shifted.
He unfolded the photograph.
Jay.
All black outfit.
Long leather coat.
Walking away.
Behind her — a car burning.
The exact moment after she stepped out.
Which meant someone had been there.
Watching.
Recording.
Keeping it.
Keifer stared at the image for several seconds.
Then he folded the letter once.
Picked up his phone.
Called Angelo.
Angelo answered quickly.
"What happened?"
"A letter came."
Pause.
"From?"
"Unknown."
"What does it say?"
Keifer read it calmly.
"And there's a photo," he added.
"Of?"
"Her. After the race."
Silence.
Angelo understood immediately.
"She doesn't know?"
"She's asleep."
"And she won't."
A short breath on the other end.
"she is not safe"
Keifer ended the call.
He slid the letter and photo into a drawer.
Locked it.
Upstairs, Jay turned in her sleep.
Still unaware that someone had just declared revenge over a throne she never asked to keep.
An hour later, the sound of a car entering the driveway echoed through the mansion.
Jay came downstairs halfway through tying her hair.
"Who's here this early?"
She froze when she saw Angelo.
"You?"
Angelo gave her a calm look.
"Yes, me."
She walked closer, confused.
"What happened?"
"Nothing."
"Then why are you here?"
He spoke normally. No tension. No urgency.
"Mom misses you. You're coming home for a while."
Jay blinked.
"Excuse me?"
"She said the house is too quiet."
She looked between Angelo and Keifer
"Since when does Tita get dramatic?"
Angelo shrugged. "Since you left."
Jay narrowed her eyes slightly.
But there was no panic in the room.
No visible urgency.
Keifer stood near the window, silent. Neutral.
She studied him for a second.
"You knew about this?"
He answered evenly. "He told me this morning."
That was it.
No extra emotion.
Jay sighed.
"Fine. Let me grab my bag."
She went upstairs.
Angelo's jaw tightened slightly once she was out of sight.
Keifer didn't look at him immediately.
"She can't know," Angelo said quietly.
"She won't."
"We move carefully."
"Yes."
A few minutes later, Jay came back down with a small bag.
"Temporary," she said.
Angelo nodded. "Temporary."
She looked at Keifer before leaving.
"Don't let them mess up the house without me."
"They won't."
She smirked faintly.
Then walked out.
The gates opened.
The car left.
Keifer stood in the quiet living room for several seconds after it disappeared.
Then he walked back to the drawer.
Opened it.
Looked at the
photo again.
The fire behind her looked almost cinematic.
Almost staged.
But it wasn't.
And somewhere, someone believed that throne still belonged to them.
They had made the first move.
And she didn't even know the game had restarted.
